🔗 What CMS syncing does
CMS syncing connects Search Atlas with your website’s content management system so approved articles can be published directly to your site. GoHighLevel (GHL) connections may require an active authorization, the correct site or sub-account, and valid publishing permissions.
📝 Check your publishing setup
- Open Content → Content Genius from the left sidebar.
- Open the article you want to publish or create one using Generate, Write it yourself, Write with AI in Bulk, or Write an article.
- Open the article’s publishing or CMS connection settings.
- Confirm that GHL is selected and that the connected site, location, or sub-account is correct.
- Review the available publishing instructions and required fields before sending the article to your CMS.
🔄 Refresh the GHL connection
- Open the CMS connection settings for the article or project.
- Select the option to refresh, reconnect, or authorize the GHL connection.
- Complete the GHL authorization using an account with access to the correct sub-account and publishing permissions.
- Return to Search Atlas and wait for the connection status to update.
- Retry the sync or publishing action.
Refreshing the sync alone may not resolve an expired authorization or an incorrect GHL location. Reauthorizing the connection is usually required in those cases.
🛠️ Resolve common sync errors
- Connection expired: Reconnect GHL and approve all requested permissions.
- Wrong site or location: Confirm that the selected GHL sub-account matches the website where the article should be published.
- Missing permissions: Ask a GHL administrator to grant access to the website, blog, and publishing features.
- Required fields missing: Add the article title, content, URL path, author, category, or other fields requested by the CMS.
- Duplicate or existing article: Check whether the same URL or article already exists in GHL before retrying.
- Temporary sync failure: Save the article, wait briefly, then retry once. Avoid repeated submissions that could create duplicate posts.
📚 When connection instructions are unavailable
If the original CMS instructions are no longer visible after connecting GHL, open the connection or publishing settings again from the article. The instructions may only appear before authorization or while the connection setup panel is open. If available, disconnect and reconnect the CMS to restart the setup flow, then select the correct GHL location before publishing.
✅ Confirm a successful publish
- Check that the sync status changes to successful or published.
- Open the article URL from your website and confirm the title, content, images, and formatting.
- In GHL, confirm that the article appears in the expected blog or website area.
- If the article is not visible, check whether it was saved as a draft and publish it in GHL if needed.
