🔍 Overview
OTTO PPC connects your websites to Google Ads so campaigns can be created and managed automatically. However, the number of Google Ads accounts you can connect depends on your Search Atlas subscription tier. If you see errors like "Failed to connect otto_v2" or "No service ID was returned", your current plan may not support connecting additional websites.
⚠️ Understanding the Error Messages
When you try to connect a website to OTTO PPC and see one of the messages below, it is almost always related to your account's Google Ads connection limit:
- "Failed to connect otto_v2" — OTTO PPC could not establish a connection for this site.
- "No service ID was returned" — The system could not generate a service link for the new account, typically because your plan's limit has been reached.
These errors do not mean there is a technical fault with your Google Ads account. They indicate that the platform was unable to add another connected account under your current subscription.
📋 How Account Tier Limits Work
Search Atlas gates Google Ads account connections based on your subscription plan:
- Standard plans — Allow one connected Google Ads account. Adding a second website that requires a separate Google Ads account will trigger a connection error.
- Google Ads add-on — Unlocks the ability to connect multiple Google Ads accounts across different websites.
- Grandfathered accounts — Legacy accounts that were created before the add-on was introduced may also be limited to a single Google Ads account connection, even if your plan previously allowed more.
If you are trying to connect a second or third website — for example, adding Paslow Junk Removal after another site is already connected — you will hit this limit unless you have the Google Ads add-on active on your account.
✅ How to Resolve the Connection Error
- Log in to Search Atlas and navigate to OTTO SEO using the left sidebar (or go to /seo-automation-v3).
- Check which website is currently connected to OTTO PPC. Only one Google Ads account can be active on standard plans.
- If you only need one site connected at a time, disconnect the existing Google Ads account first, then reconnect using the new site's account.
- If you need multiple sites connected simultaneously, you will need to add the Google Ads add-on to your subscription (see below).
🚀 Upgrading to Connect Multiple Accounts
To connect Google Ads accounts for more than one website at the same time, the Google Ads add-on must be enabled on your Search Atlas plan. This add-on removes the single-account restriction and allows OTTO PPC to manage campaigns across multiple properties simultaneously.
To explore upgrade options, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team who can review your plan and activate the add-on.
💡 Tips to Avoid Future Errors
- Before connecting a new website, confirm how many Google Ads accounts your plan supports.
- Each website typically requires its own Google Ads account — connecting two sites to the same Google Ads account is supported, but connecting two separate Google Ads accounts requires the add-on.
- After connecting a new account, allow a few minutes for the platform to confirm the connection status before attempting to create campaigns.
