📊 Extra Google Ads Connection Without Add-On

Last updated on Oct 29, 2026

📌 What this article covers

Some customers want one client to connect two Google Ads accounts without buying the Google Ads add-on. This article explains the connection limit, why a second account is billed separately, and the options you can use today.

🔗 How many Google Ads accounts you can connect

Each client can have one Google Ads connection on the standard setup. A second Google Ads account for that same client is an extra connection and requires the Google Ads add-on, currently $199 per month.

There is no setting, trial, or workaround that adds a second live Google Ads connection without that add-on. Search Atlas counts each connected Google Ads account, not the number of campaigns inside one account.

💡 Why the add-on is required

The add-on covers the extra data sync, reporting, and ongoing connection for that additional account. Keeping a second account connected uses the same product capacity as a paid Ads connection, so it cannot be included at no charge for a single client.

✅ Options if you do not want the add-on

You can still manage Google Ads for the client. Choose the option that matches how you work:

  • Keep one account connected. Leave your highest-priority Google Ads account linked and manage the other account directly in Google Ads.
  • Switch which account is connected. Disconnect the current Google Ads account, then connect the other one. Only one can be active at a time without the add-on. Historical data from the disconnected account will no longer update in Search Atlas.
  • Use one Google Ads account when possible. If both sets of campaigns can live under a single Google Ads account that you control, one Search Atlas connection can cover that account. Combining accounts is done in Google Ads, not in Search Atlas, and is only appropriate when it fits your client setup.
  • Add the Ads add-on when you need both live. Purchase the add-on if you need both accounts connected and syncing at the same time. The listed price is $199 per month for that additional connection.

🛠️ How to switch the connected account

  1. Open the client in Search Atlas.
  2. Go to the Google Ads integration or connections area.
  3. Disconnect the Google Ads account you no longer need inside the platform.
  4. Connect the Google Ads account you want to use instead and complete the Google authorization prompt.
  5. Confirm that campaigns from the newly connected account appear before you rely on the data.

Do not share Google logins or try to attach a second account through another user seat. That does not create an extra included connection and can disrupt the existing link.

❓ Common questions

Can one client connect two Google Ads accounts for free? No. The second connection requires the Google Ads add-on.

Does a manager (MCC) account replace the add-on? No. Search Atlas still needs a supported connection for each Google Ads account you want synced. An MCC login does not turn two client accounts into one free connection.

Can support waive the $199 fee for one extra account? No. The add-on is required for every additional Google Ads connection. Support cannot enable a second connection without it.
