🛠️ Fix a Stuck Campaign Setup Skip Button

Last updated on Nov 05, 2026

💡 Why the setup screen can get stuck

During Google Ads campaign setup, Search Atlas can show a setup guide over the Campaign Hub. The first layer is titled Set up your campaigns and includes Skip setup for now. Later cards include Skip setup or Skip. If that guide stays on screen and ignores clicks, the page behind it cannot be used. This pauses a guide stored in this browser. It does not save or lose campaign details.

🔍 Check what is blocking the screen

Before you change settings, confirm the problem:

  • The setup panel covers the page and does not move away.
  • Text fields do not accept typing, or the cursor never appears in them.
  • Skip looks visible but does not respond when you click it.
  • Other platform menus also fail to open while the panel is showing.

If only one button fails and the rest of the page works, try a normal click once more after the page has fully loaded. A slow connection can leave the button inactive for a few seconds.

🛠️ Clear the stuck setup panel

Work through these steps in order. Stop when the panel closes or accepts input.

  1. Wait until the page finishes loading, then click Skip once. Avoid rapid repeated clicks.
  2. Press the Esc key. Some setup layers close when you do this.
  3. Set your browser zoom to 100%. On Windows or Linux use Ctrl and 0. On Mac use Command and 0. A zoomed or very narrow window can place the real button outside the visible area.
  4. Widen the browser window or switch out of a split-screen layout, then try Skip again.
  5. Reload the page. Use the refresh button, or press Ctrl and R on Windows or Linux, or Command and R on Mac.
  6. If the panel returns, open the same campaign in a private or incognito window and sign in again.
  7. Turn off ad blockers, script blockers, and other extensions for the Search Atlas site, then reload. Privacy tools sometimes freeze overlays.
  8. Try the latest Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Safari is also used on Mac, so you can try that too.
  9. Clear the cache for the Search Atlas site only, then sign in and open the campaign again.

📊 After the screen clears

After the guide closes, open the campaign again. Use Set up campaigns, Connect Google Ads, or Create your first campaign to resume the guide. Skip only pauses the guide. It does not enter campaign details. If the campaign wizard was open and you had unsaved changes, reloading can discard those changes rather than create a duplicate campaign."}

⚙️ Prevent the panel from sticking again

  • Keep the browser updated and avoid very old versions.
  • Use a window at least as wide as a normal laptop screen while you set up a campaign.
  • Leave zoom at 100% during setup.
  • Allow the page to finish loading before you click Skip.
  • Pause extensions that block scripts while you use Search Atlas.

🚀 If Skip still will not work

If the panel still blocks input after a reload, a private window, and another browser, the campaign may need a support review. Note the campaign name, the setup step on screen, your browser name, and what you already tried. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and send your message. A member of our support team will reply in the chat.
