Overview

Every Search Atlas plan includes a set number of OTTO sites — these are quota slots that control how many websites you can activate OTTO on at one time. A common point of confusion is that deleting an OTTO project or removing the pixel from your website does not automatically free up that quota slot. This article explains how the quota system works and how to get help reusing your allotted pixel on a new URL.

How OTTO Sites Quota Works

Your plan comes with a fixed number of OTTO site slots. Here is what you need to know about how those slots are counted and managed:

  • A slot is occupied the moment a site is activated — connecting a domain and installing the OTTO pixel claims one quota slot.
  • Deleting the pixel from your website does not free the slot — removing the pixel code from your site is a front-end action only. The slot remains reserved inside Search Atlas until it is explicitly released from within the platform.
  • Deleting an OTTO project does not always free the slot — depending on your plan and account state, the system may retain an occupied slot even after a project is removed.

Why You May Still See a Site in Use

If you deleted your OTTO project and pixel but the dashboard still shows a site slot in use, the quota slot was not released during deletion. This is the most common reason customers are blocked from installing the pixel on a new URL.

How to Get Your Quota Slot Released and Reassign Your Pixel

Because the steps to release an occupied quota slot and reassign a pixel to a new URL depend on your specific account configuration, we recommend reaching out to the Search Atlas support team directly. A support agent can review your account, release the retained slot, and help you set up your pixel on your new URL.
