The CMS Connectors dashboard in Search Atlas allows you to create a secure, authenticated connection between your CMS (Content Management System) and Search Atlas.
This connection ensures accurate content detection, metadata syncing, and enables direct publishing from Content Genius into your CMS.
CMS Connectors do not replace installing the Search Atlas Pixel, nor do they perform marketing automation or plugin tasks. Each tool serves a different purpose (explained below).
⚙️ Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Navigate to the CMS Connectors Section
In the top-right corner of Search Atlas, click your Avatar (👤).
- Select Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click CMS Connectors.
Path: Avatar (👤) → Settings → CMS Connectors
You’ll see all connected domains and available integrations.
Step 2 — Open the Add Connector Interface
Click + Add Connector at the top right.
This opens the panel where you can configure a new integration.
Step 3 — Add a Connector
Choose New domain if this domain has not yet been added to Search Atlas, or Existing domain if it already appears in your Search Atlas account but has not yet had a CMS Connector configured for it.
- For a new domain: enter the full URL (e.g.,
https://www.example.com). - Click Next to continue.
Step 4 — Select the Platform
Choose the CMS platform you want to connect. Supported platforms include:
- Contentful
- Drupal
- GoHighLevel
- HubSpot
- Joomla
- Magento
- Salesforce
- Shopify
- Wix
- WordPress
After selecting your platform, follow the connector flow for that specific system. You will typically be prompted to enter API credentials or authorize OAuth access to complete the connection.

CMS Connectors are designed to:

🧩 What CMS Connectors Enable Inside Search Atlas
The primary functional purpose of CMS Connectors is enabling Content Genius → CMS publishing.
Once connected, Content Genius can:
- Publish articles directly to your CMS
- Create drafts
- Insert SEO metadata fields supported by each CMS
- Upload content through a secure authenticated API
This eliminates manual copy–paste workflows and speeds up the publishing process.
Atlas Brain dependency: Atlas Brain relies on an active CMS Connector to publish content and deploy SEO elements such as schemas and NLP terms. If the connector's sync state is impaired, these features may silently fail or report false success statuses — even when the dashboard appears healthy.
📌 What CMS Connectors Do NOT Do
CMS Connectors do not provide general-purpose automation inside your CMS, and do not replace native marketing or publishing tools.
They cannot:
- Send email marketing campaigns
- Trigger CRM or marketing automation
- Create newsletters
- Manage forms, funnels, or CRM objects
- Build landing pages
- Replace plugins or native CMS extensions
- Replace the Search Atlas Pixel
- Perform engagement tracking of any kind

👉 Allow Content Genius to publish and synchronize content directly with your CMS. All other CMS-native functions remain fully within your CMS.
🛠️ Troubleshooting
Dashboard shows 'disconnected' or a '+' Add symbol despite an active connection: If the CMS Connectors dashboard shows a disconnected status or a '+' Add symbol despite your CMS being connected, the underlying connection may still be active. Try refreshing the page or contacting support to verify backend connection status before attempting to re-authenticate.
'Website not connected' error when publishing from Content Genius or Atlas Brain: If Atlas Brain or Content Genius reports a website not connected error during publishing despite the connector appearing active, try manually publishing the article as a workaround and contact support to investigate the backend connection state.
Known Issue — Atlas Brain reports CMS as disconnected: Atlas Brain may occasionally report your CMS as disconnected even when the connector is functioning. This is a display/sync issue. Contact support to confirm backend connectivity rather than re-creating the connector, as doing so may cause duplicate connections.
