🔍 What Is a Legacy Add-On Charge?

A legacy add-on is a feature or service bundle that was attached to your original Search Atlas subscription before you switched to a new plan. When you upgrade or migrate to an annual plan, your core subscription changes — but certain add-ons that were purchased separately may remain active on their own independent billing cycle.

This means you could see a recurring charge (for example, $200/month) that appears separate from your annual plan payment. This is not a duplicate charge — it reflects an add-on that is still active and has not yet been cancelled or merged into your new plan.

📦 What Are You Getting for This Charge?

Legacy add-ons typically include one or more of the following premium features that were purchased in addition to your base plan:

  • Extra user seats beyond your plan's default allowance
  • Additional workspace or project slots for managing more client sites
  • Expanded keyword tracking limits above your standard quota
  • White-label reporting or branded dashboard access
  • Priority support or onboarding packages purchased at signup

If you are unsure exactly which add-on is generating the charge, you can review your active subscriptions in your account billing settings before contacting support.

⚙️ How to Review Your Active Add-Ons

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the platform.
  2. Navigate to Billing — it's a separate item in the avatar dropdown (not nested under Settings).
  3. Look for any line items listed separately from your annual plan — these are your active add-ons.
  4. Note the name, price, and renewal date of each add-on so you have full context before taking action.

💡 Common Reasons This Charge Continues After Switching Plans

  • Add-ons are independent subscriptions. Switching your base plan does not automatically cancel separately purchased add-ons.
  • Billing cycles do not always align. Your annual plan and your legacy add-on may renew on different dates, causing them to appear as separate charges.
  • The add-on may duplicate a feature now included in your new plan. If your annual plan already includes a feature previously purchased as an add-on, you may be paying for it twice — this is something our team can correct with an account credit.

🛠️ How to Request a Credit or Cancel a Legacy Add-On

If you believe you have been charged for a legacy add-on that is no longer needed, duplicates a feature in your current plan, or was not cancelled during your plan migration, our billing team can review your account and issue a credit where applicable. Follow these steps:

  1. Gather your billing details: the charge amount, the approximate date it first appeared, and the name of the add-on if visible in your settings.
  2. Open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform.
  3. Type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.
  4. Share your billing details and explain that you are disputing a legacy add-on charge.
  5. Our team will review your account history, confirm what the add-on covers, and process a credit or cancellation as appropriate.

✅ What to Expect After Submitting Your Request

Once our team reviews your case, one of the following outcomes will apply:

  • Credit issued: If the charge overlaps with your current annual plan, a prorated credit will be applied to your account and reflected on your next invoice.
  • Add-on cancelled: If you no longer need the feature, the add-on will be cancelled and future charges will stop at the end of the current billing period.
  • Clarification provided: If the add-on covers a feature not included in your annual plan, our team will explain exactly what you are receiving so you can make an informed decision.

Credits are typically applied within 1–3 business days and will appear on your next billing statement.
