💡 Overview
Citation credits may be used when a campaign submits or maintains listings through a citation network. Refund eligibility depends on the campaign activity, the credits consumed, and whether the charge can be reversed.
💰 Request a citation refund
Search Atlas support must review refund requests individually. Include the campaign number, the number of credits in question, and the reason for the request.
For example, a request for a 120-credit refund on campaign 7940 should include:
- Campaign ID: 7940
- Requested refund: 120 credits
- A short explanation of why the charge should be reviewed
- Any relevant dates, screenshots, or campaign details
Refunds are not guaranteed. If approved, the final amount may differ from the amount requested because refunds are based on eligible usage and the actual cost of the completed work. Refund activity is recorded for account review.
🔒 Prevent unapproved credit spending
To reduce unexpected spending, the account owner or administrator should:
- Review all users with access to the workspace.
- Remove users who no longer need access.
- Limit campaign creation, launch, and purchasing access to trusted team members.
- Require internal approval before a campaign is launched or credits are committed.
- Review campaign activity and credit usage regularly.
Keep in mind that restricting access after a campaign has started may not reverse credits already spent. Confirm who can launch campaigns before inviting new users or changing their permissions.
🧾 Review unexpected usage
When you see unexpected spending, note the campaign ID, service involved, credit amount, and approximate time of the activity. This information helps the team compare the charge with campaign records and usage history.
Some refunds may appear separately from the original usage entry. Allow time for the account balance and usage records to update after a refund is approved.
