Universal Credits are now live in Search Atlas, replacing separate tool quotas with one shared, flexible usage balance for eligible actions across the platform. This change simplifies credit management by providing a single pool with transparent pricing shown before every action.
✨ What's New
Universal Credits introduce a unified credit system with the following benefits:
- One shared balance across eligible Search Atlas features
- Clear credit pricing displayed directly in the app before actions are taken
- Full Universal Credit Usage view via Top-right corner (avatar) → Billing (Billing)
- Monthly plan credits that refill each billing cycle
- Purchased top-up credits that roll over month to month
Currently available to new sign-ups only.
🛠️ How to Use It
Credits draw from two buckets in priority order:
- Monthly plan credits: Included with subscription, refill each billing cycle, do not roll over
- Purchased credits: Added through top-ups, roll over month to month, used only after monthly credits are exhausted
Before running an action, Search Atlas shows the projected credit cost. Flat-cost actions display a fixed amount, while variable-cost actions (heatmap pins, tracked keywords by device/refresh interval, multi-credit AI generations) show the calculated total before confirmation.
📋 What to Expect
Not all limits are changing. Structural limits like project counts remain plan-based. You can distinguish between the two at a glance:
- Universal Credit actions show a credit cost tag (🪙)
- Plan limits show the familiar used/total counter (📏)
Managing credits: Check balance and usage from the header quota popover or Top-right corner (avatar) → Billing → Activity Log tab. Admins can top up via Billing, the header popover, or when blocked actions require more credits. Top-ups are one-time Stripe purchases.
When credits run out: Actions are blocked before execution with a message showing how many credits are needed. Monthly credits refill automatically on the next billing cycle reset, or an admin can top up immediately.
