💳 What Are Universal Credits?

Universal Credits (UC) is a single, flexible usage balance for your account. Instead of tracking a separate quota for every feature, eligible actions across the platform draw from one shared pool of credits. You can see exactly what each action costs before you run it, watch one balance instead of dozens of counters, and top up that same balance no matter which feature you need more of.

👥 Who Can Use Universal Credits Right Now?

Universal Credits is currently available to new sign-up accounts only. If your account was created before Universal Credits launched, you'll continue on standard per-product quotas for now.

💰 What Are the Two Kinds of Credits?

Your balance is made of two buckets that behave differently, and spending always follows the same order — monthly plan credits first, then purchased credits:

  • Monthly plan credits — included with your subscription. They refill to your plan's full amount on your billing cycle reset date. Unused monthly credits do not carry over to the next cycle.
  • Purchased credits — added through top-ups. They roll over month to month and are only used after your monthly plan credits run out.

If credits are returned to you (for example, when a charged action fails), purchased credits are returned first.

📊 How Many Monthly Credits Does Each Plan Get?

Plan Monthly UC grant
Starter 50,000 UC
Growth 120,000 UC
Pro 400,000 UC
Agency 1,000,000 UC

📏 What Counts as a Universal Credit Action vs. a Plan Limit?

Not everything moves to credits. Some limits — typically structural ones, like how many projects of a certain type you can have — remain regular plan limits with their own counters. You can tell them apart at a glance: features billed in credits show a credit cost tag, while plan-limited features show the familiar "used / total" counter. The Activity Log tab on the Billing page lists every feature on your account that's billed in credits — if a feature isn't on that list, it's governed by your plan's limits, not credits.

👀 Where Do I Check My Balance?

  • Header quota popover — available from any page. Shows your current balance and, for each credit-billed feature, its cost per action and your usage.
  • Top-right corner (avatar) → Billing → Activity Log tab — the full audit view, filtered by default to what you've used this cycle. You can filter by product category or search the complete list.

💸 How Do I Buy More Credits?

  1. Click Top Up on the Billing page, in the header popover, or on any action that's asking for more credits.
  2. Pick a dollar amount — the modal shows exactly how many credits you get for it.
  3. Check out. Payment is processed by Stripe, and credits are added as soon as payment confirms.

Top-ups are one-time purchases — nothing recurs unless you buy again (see auto top-up below). Only account admins can purchase credits; members and viewers can see usage but can't buy.

⚠️ What Happens When I Run Out?

When your balance can't cover an action's cost, that action is blocked before it starts — you'll see the credit cost needed plus a link to top up. The platform blocks the request server-side as well, so you're never charged into a negative balance. Your monthly plan credits come back automatically on your cycle reset date, or you can top up immediately to keep working.

🔄 Can I Turn On Auto Top-Up?

Yes, if you'd rather never hit a blocked action. Auto top-up is off by default and admin-only: when your balance drops below a threshold you choose, your saved payment method is automatically charged for a top-up amount you choose.

👥 What Can Each Role Do?

Role What they can do
Admin See everything, buy top-ups, manage auto top-up settings
Member Use features and consume credits; cannot purchase
Viewer View usage; payment and plan information is hidden
