🧊 What Is Deep Freeze?
Deep Freeze lets you temporarily pause a project to free up a client slot in your plan. When you Deep Freeze a site, that slot enters a holding period before the credit is fully released back to your quota.
⏳ How the Release Period Works
Once the holding period for a frozen project expires, the credit is marked as available. A few things to keep in mind:
- Credits are released as each project's holding period completes.
- A credit is only usable after its specific project's holding period has fully elapsed.
- If multiple projects were frozen on different dates, their release dates will also differ.
❓ Why Can't I Add a New Site If the Wait Is Over?
Even if the holding period on one or more frozen projects has expired, you may still be unable to add a new site. This can happen if not all holding periods have completed, or if your plan's total site limit is still reached even after credits are returned. If you believe the holding period has elapsed and you are still blocked, our support team can investigate and confirm the status of your quota on the backend.
🔍 What to Do If You're Still Blocked
If you cannot add a new site despite expecting a credit to have been released, please do the following before reaching out:
- Refresh your browser and log out, then log back in to your Search Atlas account to ensure the quota display is up to date.
- Check how many projects you currently have frozen and note the dates each was frozen, so our team can verify whether each holding period has completed.
- Note the exact names of the frozen projects in question.
- If the issue persists, contact our support team with your account details, the names of the frozen projects, and the dates they were frozen so we can investigate the status of each credit release.
