Completely Disconnect OTTO From a GBP

Overview

OTTO can be fully disconnected from a Google Business Profile (GBP) at any time. This removes all active automation and severs the link between OTTO and the business — no Deep Freeze required. Use this guide if you want to completely detach OTTO from a GBP project rather than pausing it temporarily.

Deep Freeze vs. Complete Disconnection: Deep Freeze pauses OTTO activity but keeps the connection intact. Complete disconnection permanently removes OTTO from the project. This article covers complete disconnection only.

Step 1 — Navigate to Your GBP Project

  1. Log in to Search Atlas.
  2. Navigate to your GBP projects list within the platform.
  3. Locate the business you want to disconnect OTTO from and open that project.

Step 2 — Disconnect OTTO From the GBP

Once inside the GBP project, look for the OTTO connection or automation settings area. From there, select the option to disconnect or remove OTTO from the project. This will sever the link between OTTO and the GBP entirely.

Step 3 — Confirm the Disconnection

Follow any on-screen prompts to confirm the action. After the disconnection is complete, OTTO automation will be fully removed from the GBP and no further automated actions will be applied to that profile going forward.

How to Verify OTTO Has Been Removed

  • Navigate to OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation).
  • Check the Active and Deep Frozen tabs for the business.
  • Confirm that OTTO automation is no longer shown as active for that project.

Important Notes

  • This action is not the same as Deep Freeze. Deep Freeze pauses OTTO while keeping it linked. Complete disconnection fully removes the integration — you would need to reconnect and reconfigure OTTO from scratch if you want to use it again for this business later.
  • If you are unable to locate the disconnection option within the project, contact support with your GBP project name and account email so a teammate can guide you through the exact steps for your configuration.
