We've shipped seven updates to Google Business Profile, resolving Media Library issues and refining navigation and preview behavior for a smoother experience.
✨ What's New
This release includes three bug fixes and four improvements across GBP.
- Media Library duplicate image fix: Uploaded images no longer show twice in the UI, and deleting no longer leaves a duplicate behind.
- Sidebar navigation fix: GBP sidebar navigation items now enable correctly after connecting a new Google Business Profile account.
- File size error fix: The Media Library no longer shows an incorrect 'File size too small' error — frontend and backend size limits are now aligned and communicated consistently.
- New link badge: Added a "New link generated" badge indicator to the External Upload Link.
- Name field sync: Updates to the GBP name field now reflect correctly in the preview panel and top business dropdown.
- Audit out of beta: Removed the Beta tag from GBP Audit in the left navigation sidebar.
- Streamlined Media Library access: Replaced the Media Library pop-up with an in-app redirect to the Media Library section, with the location pre-selected.
🛠️ How to Use It
- Open Local (GBP Projects) from the left sidebar.
- Connect or select a business account to access its profile tools.
- Navigate to the Media Library to upload images, which now display and delete cleanly.
- Use the External Upload Link and watch for the "New link generated" badge when a new link is created.
📋 What to Expect
Media Library uploads, deletions, and error messaging now behave consistently, and navigation enables properly after connecting a new account. Clicking into the Media Library now redirects you in-app with the correct location pre-selected instead of opening a pop-up, and GBP Audit is now a fully released feature.
