Getting to Your GBP Dashboard

  1. In the left sidebar, click Local → Posts (GBP Posts)
  2. Select the GBP project you want to manage

From here you can manage Posts, Reviews, Q&A, and automated publishing.

GBP Posts

Creating a Post Manually

  1. Go to GBP Projects > select your project > Posts
  2. Click + Create new post
  3. Write your post content or use AI to generate it
  4. Add an image (optional but recommended)
  5. Click Publish to post immediately, or Schedule to set a future date

Automated Posting

Search Atlas can automatically create and publish GBP posts on a schedule:

  1. Go to GBP Projects > select your project > Posts

  2. Click the gear/settings icon (⚙) located to the right of the Automated Posting section header

  3. Toggle Automated Posting to ON

  4. Configure:

    • Post Frequency: How often (e.g., every 3 days, weekly)
    • Start Date: Sets when automated posting begins. If set to a future date, no posts will be generated until that date is reached. For immediate posting, set to today or a past date.
    • Approval Process: Choose "Automatic" to publish without review, or "Ask before approval" to require manual approval in My Tasks
    • Image Source: Where images come from (AI-generated, your uploads, or website). Images must be JPEG or PNG format, at least 250×250 pixels, and at least 10KB in file size. When using Media Library as your image source, ensure images are under 5MB — images exceeding this limit may cause automated posts to fail silently. Search Atlas auto-adjusts images to meet Google's standards where possible, but verify your uploads meet these requirements. Note: If using Media Library images with the Approval Process set to "Ask before approval", posts must be approved before their original scheduled date passes. Approving a post after its scheduled date will result in a publish failure. To avoid this, approve pending posts promptly or use Automatic approval.

After saving your Automated Posting settings, please allow up to 24 hours for the first post to be generated. This is normal.

Troubleshooting automated posts not publishing:

  • Verify Automated Posting toggle is ON
  • Check Start Date is not in the future
  • If using "Ask before approval", check My Tasks for pending approvals and ensure you approve posts before their originally scheduled publish date. Approving after the scheduled date has passed will cause a publish failure.

Reviews

Auto-Respond to Reviews

  1. Go to GBP Projects > select your project > Reviews
  2. Enable Auto-Respond to have AI automatically reply to new reviews
  3. Customize the tone and style for positive vs negative reviews

My Tasks

If you have approval-based workflows enabled, pending items appear in GBP Projects > My Tasks. Review and approve or reject each item.
