Overview
This article covers two essential topics for agencies and freelancers managing local business clients: how to add additional OTTO projects to your account, and how to build a realistic 1–2 month local SEO projection using Search Atlas's built-in tools and methodology.
Adding a New OTTO Project
To add a new OTTO project to your account, navigate to OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation) in your Search Atlas dashboard. From there, you will find the option to create or add a new project and connect it to your client's website. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the project setup.
If you are unsure how many OTTO projects your current subscription allows, check your account settings or plan details page for information about your project limits and any applicable pricing.
Note: If you have questions about current OTTO project pricing, discounts for multiple projects, or plan upgrade options, our support team can provide the most accurate and up-to-date figures for your account.
Projecting Realistic Local SEO Results in 1–2 Months
Setting accurate client expectations is critical. To build a credible baseline projection for a local business client, follow these general steps using Search Atlas:
- Establish a baseline: Before projecting results, document where the client stands today. Use the site audit features within your OTTO project to identify existing optimization opportunities and technical issues that need to be addressed.
- Identify quick wins: Focus on optimizations that can be implemented quickly and are likely to show early movement — such as on-page fixes flagged in the audit, Google Business Profile improvements, and local citation accuracy.
- Set keyword and visibility benchmarks: Use the keyword tracking and local ranking tools in Search Atlas to record current positions for your client's target keywords. This gives you a measurable starting point for reporting progress at the 30- and 60-day marks.
- Align projections with realistic timelines: For most local businesses, early SEO work delivers incremental improvements in the first 1–2 months rather than dramatic ranking jumps. Focus client reporting on leading indicators — such as the number of issues resolved, content published, and citations built — alongside any early ranking movement.
- Use Search Atlas reporting tools: Leverage the campaign and reporting features within Search Atlas to generate client-facing summaries that show progress against the baseline you established in step 1.
