🔍 What Changed and Why
Search Atlas recently updated its default opening view from a sidebar panel to a full AI interface. This change was made to give you more screen space, a cleaner workspace, and faster access to AI-powered tools right when you log in. The full interface replaces the narrower sidebar layout to improve usability and support a growing set of AI features.
This is a permanent platform update — the sidebar-first layout is no longer the default experience. There is no setting to revert to the previous sidebar view.
🗺️ How to Navigate the New Layout
All the tools you used before are still available. The main navigation remains in the left sidebar, which you can use at any time to move between sections. Here is a quick overview of where to find key areas:
- Site Explorer — Left sidebar → Site Metrics (Site Explorer) (URL: /site-explorer/list). From here you can access Keyword Magic, Rank Tracker, and Keyword Gap.
- Local — Left sidebar → Local → GBP Projects (URL: /gbp-galactic/gbp-projects). Sub-sections include Overview, Media Library, My Tasks, Posts, Reviews, and Local Citations.
If you previously relied on the sidebar to quickly access AI tools, those same tools are now front and centre when you open the platform — no extra clicks required.
💡 Tips for Getting Comfortable with the New Interface
- Start from the left sidebar. Every major section is listed there. Click any item to navigate directly to that tool or report.
- Use the AI interface as your home base. The full AI view is designed to let you ask questions, generate content, and run workflows without switching screens.
- Bookmark deep links. If you regularly visit a specific page — such as Rank Tracker or Local Citations — bookmark the direct URL in your browser for one-click access.
- Explore the AI features. The expanded interface surfaces capabilities that were harder to reach in the sidebar layout, including guided workflows and multi-step AI tasks.

Can I switch back to the old sidebar view?
No. The full AI interface is the new standard layout and cannot be reverted. All previous features remain accessible through the left sidebar navigation.
Did I lose any features or data?
No. All your existing projects, reports, and settings are intact. Only the default opening view has changed.
