Overview

OTTO can generate and deploy schema markup for your website without requiring a plugin. Instead, you connect your site using a plugin-free verification method. Once connected, OTTO handles schema generation automatically and gives you full control over deployment.

Step 1: Connect Your Website Without a Plugin

To connect your site to OTTO, navigate to the OTTO SEO section of the platform. If your site is not yet connected, you will be prompted to add it. Search Atlas supports plugin-free site verification methods — check the on-screen instructions when adding your site for the specific options available to you. Follow the prompts to complete verification before proceeding.

Step 2: Generate Schema With OTTO

After your site is verified and connected, OTTO will begin auditing your pages and identifying schema opportunities. Navigate to your connected site within the OTTO SEO area and look for the schema-related options presented in the interface. Review the schema types OTTO recommends for your pages — these may include types such as Article, FAQ, Product, LocalBusiness, BreadcrumbList, and more — and activate the ones relevant to your content following the on-screen controls.

OTTO generates the structured data automatically based on the content of each page. You do not need to write or edit any JSON-LD manually.

Step 3: Deploy Schema to Your Website

Deployment without a plugin works through the verified site connection you set up in Step 1. When you activate schema in OTTO, the structured data is delivered to your pages through that connection. Ensure that any verification code you placed on your site remains in place, as it may also be used for ongoing schema delivery.
