Some Search Atlas pages support both a dark mode and a light mode display. This article explains where the in-app toggle is and how to stop your browser from forcing a dark appearance.
⚙️ Changing Your Theme Inside Search Atlas
There is no single light/dark switch for the whole dashboard. A light/dark toggle appears on these pages only:
- Site Audit (new version) — the toggle in the top header, just before your profile menu.
- Google Business Profile (new version) — the toggle in the top header while you are on those pages.
- Authority Building pages (Press Release, Cloud Stacks, URL Indexer, Digital PR, and QUEST) — one shared toggle in the top header; switching it on one of these pages applies to all of them.
Other pages do not have their own theme toggle.
🌐 Controlling the Theme via Your OS or Browser
When Search Atlas follows your system preference, it mirrors the dark or light setting configured on your device. Here is how to update that setting on the most common platforms:
- Windows 11/10: Go to Settings → Personalisation → Colours and choose Light or Dark under "Choose your mode."
- macOS: Go to System Settings → Appearance and select Light or Dark.
- iOS / iPadOS: Go to Settings → Display & Brightness and choose Light.
- Android: Go to Settings → Display and toggle Dark theme off.
After changing your OS setting, refresh the Search Atlas tab in your browser and the interface will update to match.
🔧 Overriding the Theme in Your Browser
Some browsers let you force a light or dark appearance independently of your OS. If you prefer not to change your system-wide setting, you can override it at the browser level:
- Google Chrome: In the address bar, go to
chrome://flags, search for Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents, and set it to Disabled. Relaunch the browser. - Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings → Appearance and set the theme to Light.
- Firefox: Go to Settings → General → Language and Appearance and choose the Light theme under "Website appearance."
- Safari (macOS): Theme follows the macOS system preference — update it in System Settings → Appearance as described above.
After applying any browser-level change, reload the Search Atlas tab to see the updated appearance.
