If you have reset your password several times but still cannot log in to your Search Atlas account, you are not locked out permanently. This guide walks you through the most common causes of failed password resets and shows you exactly how to regain access.

🔍 Why Your Password Reset Keeps Failing

Most failed resets come down to one of a few recurring issues. Review the list below and see which one matches your situation:

  • An expired reset link: Password reset links are valid for a limited time and can only be used once. If you wait too long after the email arrives, the link will no longer work.
  • Using an older reset email: If you requested several reset emails, only the newest link works. Older links are automatically invalidated each time a new one is sent.
  • A typo in your email address: The reset email is sent to the exact address you type on the reset page. A single misplaced letter sends the link to the wrong inbox, or to no inbox at all.
  • The email went to spam or promotions: Password reset emails are sometimes filtered out of your main inbox.
  • Browser autofill or cached credentials: Your browser may keep filling in your old password automatically, which makes every login attempt fail even after a successful reset.
  • You originally signed up with Google: If your account was created using Google single sign-on, there is no password to reset. You simply need to use the Google sign-in button instead.

🛠️ How to Regain Access Step by Step

Follow these steps in order. Most customers regain access within a few minutes.

  1. Confirm your login email. Make sure you know exactly which email address is associated with your Search Atlas account, especially if you or a teammate created the account with a work or personal address.
  2. Request a single reset link. Go to the Search Atlas login page, click Forgot password, enter your email address carefully, and submit the request once.
  3. Wait a few minutes, then check all your folders. Look in your inbox, spam, junk, and promotions folders for an email from Search Atlas.
  4. Use only the most recent link. Delete or ignore any older reset emails, then click the link in the newest message. If the link has expired, start again from step 2.
  5. Set a strong new password. Choose a password you have not used before on this account and enter it twice, exactly as intended.
  6. Log in manually. Return to the login page and type your new password yourself rather than letting your browser autofill it.

🔐 Tips for Setting a Successful New Password

To avoid another failed reset, keep the following in mind when creating your new password:

  • Use at least 8 characters, mixing upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid reusing the password from a previous reset attempt.
  • Do not copy and paste the password with an extra space at the start or end.
  • Update any saved passwords in your browser after your first successful login.

💡 If You Still Cannot Log In

If you have completed every step above and access is still blocked, try these final checks before contacting support:

  • Try an incognito or private window. This bypasses cached credentials and autofill that may be interfering with login.
  • Try the Google sign-in option. If your account was originally created with Google, this button will take you straight in without a password.
  • Wait a few minutes and retry. After multiple failed attempts in a short period, a temporary security lock can briefly block logins. Waiting about 15 minutes usually clears it.
  • Ask your account owner to check your access. If your account sits inside a team or agency workspace, the account owner can verify your email address and user status from within the platform.
