🤔 What Happens to Otto's Changes If You Cancel?
When your Search Atlas plan expires or is cancelled, Otto's deployed SEO changes do not automatically revert. 24 hours after your account becomes unsubscribed, all of your OTTO projects are automatically put into Deep Freeze (autopilot off, read-only). The projects are not deleted and stay engaged, so the OTTO pixel keeps serving the fixes that were already deployed. Deployed changes stop being served only if the pixel is removed, the project is disengaged, or the project is deleted.
❄️ What Is Deepfreeze?
Deepfreeze is an Otto feature designed to retain your current SEO deployments on your website after your plan ends. When activated, it preserves your deployed changes so they remain in place regardless of your subscription status.
Think of it as locking in Otto's changes so they no longer depend on an active Search Atlas plan to stay on your site.
✅ Before Activating Deepfreeze
Make sure Deepfreeze is enabled while your plan is still active. Once your subscription ends, you will lose access to Otto settings, including Deepfreeze. ⚠️ Important Considerations
- Activate Deepfreeze before cancelling. You must enable it while your plan is still active. You will lose access to Otto settings — including Deepfreeze — once your subscription ends.
- Only currently deployed changes are affected. Any Otto suggestions that have not yet been deployed will not be retained after cancellation.
- Future updates require an active plan. Deepfreeze preserves your existing deployments, but making new Otto changes or updates will require reactivating a subscription.
