When you register for the Top of Google Challenge, your confirmation email includes a Google Meet link. This often causes confusion — many participants try to join their live training through Google Meet and find nothing there. This article clarifies exactly which platform is used for training and how to access your sessions.
📧 What the Google Meet Link Actually Does
The Google Meet link in your confirmation email is not the live training platform. It is a calendar scheduling tool only. Its sole purpose is to add the Top of Google Challenge sessions to your Google Calendar so you receive reminders at the correct times.
- Clicking the Google Meet link will not take you to the training.
- Joining or attempting to start a Google Meet session will result in an empty call with no host or content.
- You do not need a Google Meet account or Google Workspace access to participate in the challenge.
✅ The Actual Training Platform Is Zoom
All live Top of Google Challenge sessions are hosted on Zoom. You must use the Zoom link provided in your registration materials to attend any training session.
Here is how to find and use your Zoom link:
- Open the original registration confirmation email sent to the address you used when purchasing the challenge.
- Look for the section labelled "Join the Live Training" or "Your Zoom Link" — this is separate from the Google Calendar invite section.
- Click the Zoom link to open the session in your browser or the Zoom desktop app.
- If prompted, enter the meeting password included in the same email.
- You will enter the session directly once the host has started the meeting at the scheduled time.
🕐 Important Notes About Joining on Time
- Zoom sessions are only accessible once the host starts the meeting. If you join early, you will wait in a lobby until the session begins.
- Session times are listed in the confirmation email. Use the Google Calendar invite (added via the Google Meet link) as a reminder only.
- If you missed a live session, check your email for any replay or recording links sent after the session ended.
🔍 Can't Find Your Zoom Link?
If you cannot locate the Zoom link, try the following steps:
- Search your inbox for emails from Search Atlas or Top of Google Challenge using keywords like "Zoom" or "join your training."
- Check your spam or promotions folder — confirmation emails sometimes land there.
- If you registered with more than one email address, check all inboxes associated with your account.
- Ensure you are searching the inbox tied to the email address used at checkout.
💳 Confirming Your Purchase Went Through
If you have searched all inboxes and still cannot find any confirmation email or Zoom link, verify that your payment for the Top of Google Challenge registration was completed successfully:
- Check your bank or card statement for a charge from Search Atlas.
- If the charge appears but no email arrived, the confirmation may have been blocked or lost in transit.
- If no charge appears, your registration may not have been completed and you may need to re-register.
