Keyword tracking quota determines how many keywords you can actively monitor inside Search Atlas tools such as Rank Tracker and Keyword Gap. This article explains exactly what each plan includes, how to expand your quota, and which upgrade path best fits your needs.
📋 Keyword Tracking Limits by Plan
Each Search Atlas plan comes with a base keyword tracking allocation:
- Starter: Up to 2,000 tracked keywords
- Pro: Up to 5,000 tracked keywords
- Enterprise: Up to 10,000 tracked keywords (and above, depending on your custom configuration)
These limits apply across all keyword tracking features, including Rank Tracker (Left sidebar → Keywords → Rank Tracker) and Keyword Gap (Left sidebar → Keywords → Keyword Gap).
🔄 Can I Upgrade the Pro Plan to 10k Keywords?
The Pro plan's base allocation is fixed at 5,000 keywords. There is no in-tier upgrade that raises a Pro plan's base quota to 10,000 keywords. To get 10,000 tracked keywords as your standard allocation, you need to move to the Enterprise plan, which includes 10,000 keywords as its base limit.
If you are on the Pro plan and need more than 5,000 tracked keywords, you have two options:
- Upgrade to the Enterprise plan — This gives you a 10,000-keyword base allocation (and higher) as a permanent part of your subscription, with no recurring top-ups required.
- Purchase a monthly keyword tracking top-up — This adds a set number of keywords on top of your existing Pro plan quota each month. Top-ups renew monthly and are charged separately from your base plan.
⚖️ Upgrade to Enterprise vs. Monthly Top-Up: Which Is Right for You?
Use this comparison to decide which option suits your situation:
- Choose an Enterprise upgrade if: you consistently need 10,000 or more tracked keywords every month, want a single predictable subscription cost, or plan to scale your usage further over time.
- Choose a monthly top-up if: you need extra keyword tracking temporarily (for example, during a campaign), your usage fluctuates month to month, or you want to stay on the Pro plan for other feature or pricing reasons.
🏢 Custom Plan Options
If your keyword tracking needs exceed 10,000 or you require a tailored combination of features and limits, Search Atlas offers custom Enterprise configurations. Custom plans can be scoped to your specific quota requirements and are billed according to your agreed terms. ⚙️ How to Upgrade Your Plan
To move from the Pro plan to Enterprise, or to add a keyword tracking top-up:
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the platform.
- Select Billing from the dropdown menu.
- Open the Plans & Top-ups tab (Billing) to review the available plan options or top-up packages.
- Select the plan or add-on that matches your needs and follow the on-screen checkout steps.
Changes to your plan take effect immediately after payment is confirmed. Your tracked keyword count will update automatically.
📍 Where to View Your Current Keyword Tracking Usage
You can check how many keywords you are currently tracking at any time:
- Navigate to Keywords → Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker) using the left sidebar.
- Your active tracked keywords and remaining quota are displayed at the top of the Rank Tracker dashboard.
