🔐 Fix GSC Login Loop on Keywords

Last updated on Nov 05, 2026

🔍 What this issue looks like

Some customers see a login loop while connecting Google Search Console, or the Keywords page keeps opening a different dealer site. The connection never finishes, or keyword data appears for the wrong property. This usually means the browser is signed into the wrong Google account, or Search Atlas is linked to a different site than the one you intend to view.

⚙️ Why the loop or redirect happens

Google often keeps more than one account signed in. Search Console access is granted per property, so a session for another dealer can be reused. A mismatch between the www and non-www versions of a domain, or between two dealer websites in the same account, can also send you to the wrong property.

  • Wrong Google account: You approved access with an account that does not manage the dealer site.
  • Wrong property: Search Console has both www and non-www, or another dealer domain, and the wrong one was selected.
  • Stale browser session: Cookies keep returning you to a previous Google login.
  • Wrong site in Search Atlas: the GSC Performance Project dropdown is still set to another site. The selected property URL is not the dealer you want to review.

🛠️ Confirm the correct dealer first

  1. In Search Atlas, open GSC Performance and use the Project dropdown to select the dealer property. Match the property URL exactly, including www when the live property uses www. Domain properties appear as the bare domain.
  2. In Google Search Console, confirm you can open that same property with the Google account you plan to connect. You need access to the property, not only to a different dealer in the same group.
  3. If both www and non-www properties exist, choose the version that matches the domain used in Search Atlas.

🚀 Reconnect Google Search Console

  1. Sign out of every Google account in the browser, or use a private window so only one account can be chosen.
  2. In Search Atlas, go to Settings and open the Google Search Console integration. To remove the Google account, choose Disconnect this Email or the trash icon, then confirm Disconnect account. To stop tracking one site only, open the GSC sites drawer, set that site to Disabled, and choose Confirm & Continue.
  3. Start the connection again. When Google asks which account to use, select the account that owns or manages the correct dealer property.
  4. Approve access, then select the property whose domain matches the dealer site. Do not select another dealer, a parked domain, or the opposite www version.
  5. Return to GSC Performance, open Keywords, and refresh the page. Check the Project dropdown before reviewing keyword data. It shows the selected property URL, not a separate site name and domain.

💡 If it still loops or opens another dealer

  • Clear cookies for Google and Search Atlas, then repeat the connection in a private window.
  • Ask the property owner to add your Google account to the correct Search Console property before you connect again.
  • Remove access to unused dealer properties from the Google account if you keep being offered the wrong site.
  • Check that you did not switch projects after the connection. Keyword data follows the site currently selected in Search Atlas.

After a clean reconnect, return to Keywords and confirm the Project dropdown is set to the dealer property you approved. The page does not switch to that property by itself. Data may take a short time to load.
