๐Ÿ” Keyword Rank Tracking and Accuracy Overview

When keyword rankings don't match your expectations, the issue is usually tied to the tool being used and the level of data it provides. Search Atlas rank tracking is accurate, powered by first-party data directly from Google and reliable third-party sources, depending on the tool selected. This guide explains which tools provide precise local results, how broader tools differ, and the most common mistakes to avoid. ๐Ÿ“ Step 1: Use The Right Tool For Local Accuracy For detailed, location-based rankings, prioritize: - Keyword Rank Tracker - Local SEO Heatmaps - Local SERPs ๐ŸŒŽ Step 2: Use The Right Tool For Broader Visibility For national or country-level insights, use the GSC Performance Tool. ๐Ÿ”Ž Step 3: Use The Right Tool For Research For broad snapshots and competitive analysis, use Site Explorer. โš ๏ธ Step 4: Avoid Common Mistakes - Using GSC to track local rankings (it is designed for country-level results) - Forgetting to connect GSC inside Search Atlas for first-party reports - Expecting state or city data from GSC (only global or country targeting is supported) - Creating the wrong GSC property type (Domain-Level vs. URL Prefix) - Misinterpreting GSC's average position data โ€” it averages rankings over the selected date range - Not shortening the GSC date range when precise tracking is needed - Overlooking that Search Atlas includes 6โ€“16 months of historical data, refreshed daily at no extra cost - Forgetting to enable the target location for GSC data - Not layering GA4 on top of GSC when you want user behavior metrics like bounce rate or conversions ๐Ÿ“Š Keyword Rank Tracker Purpose: Precise keyword tracking by location, device, and refresh settings. How it works: - Define exact keywords you want tracked - Select the location level โ€” country, state, city, or county - Specify the device type โ€” desktop, mobile, or both - Set refresh frequency to match reporting needs - Add multiple locations within a single report to manage multi-location businesses Use case: Best for ongoing rank tracking in specific markets. Learn more about Keyword Rank Tracker ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Local SEO Heatmaps Purpose: Visualize Google Business Profile visibility for keywords across a geographic grid. How it works: - Display rankings across multiple grid points - Show map pack visibility within a city or service area Key considerations: Radius and spacing must match your service area, and refreshing while the business is open produces more accurate results. Use case: Best for evaluating map pack performance across neighborhoods. Learn more about Local SEO Heatmaps ๐Ÿ“Œ Local SERPs Purpose: Validate local results by simulating searches from a specific location. How it works: - Emulates searches directly in the target market - Removes bias from the searcher's real location Use case: Spot-checks what real users see in a city or neighborhood. Learn more about Local SERPs ๐ŸŒ GSC Performance Tool Purpose: Report website performance directly from Google Search Console. How it works: - Provides clicks, impressions, CTR, and rankings from GSC - Available globally or by country (not city/state level) - Includes 6โ€“16 months of historical data, refreshed daily at no extra cost - Rankings reflect averages over the selected date range - Optional GA4 integration layers user behavior metrics Use case: Best for national trends, broad visibility insights, and macro reporting. Supports retroactive imports and site events to measure impact. ๐Ÿ”ฌ Site Explorer Purpose: Provide keyword rankings, traffic estimates, and difficulty scores for any site. How it works: - Shows snapshots of performance across many keywords - Refresh intervals vary by keyword Limitations: Not designed for exact local or daily tracking; country-level only. Use case: Ideal for research and competitive benchmarking. Learn more about Site Explorer โ“ FAQs Does Search Atlas show accurate rank tracking? Yes. ๐Ÿ” Search Atlas โ€” Keyword Research & Rank Tracker Quota Issues

Use this article to resolve the most common keyword research problems in Search Atlas: keyword ideas not loading, Content Score errors, keyword gap and backlink gaps, stale SERP data, and a full Rank Tracker keyword quota that blocks you from adding new keywords. ๐Ÿงญ Which quota issue do you have? - Can't search keywords in Keyword Explorer Magic? See "Quota Exhausted โ€“ Please wait before refetching again" below. - Can't add keywords to Rank Tracker? See Why is my Rank Tracker keyword quota full. - Quota draining faster than expected even with fewer keywords? See Page depth and quota below. - Credits disappearing unexpectedly? See Keyword Magic credits consumed unexpectedly. โณ Keyword ideas not loading โ€” the page spins forever This happens when the frontend request times out while the backend is still processing large or complex keyword requests. The fix is frontend-side and has been released, so refresh the page and retry. Steps to try: - Wait 5 minutes and try again โ€” the queue clears automatically. - Reduce the number of seed keywords in a single request (use 3โ€“5 instead of 10+). - Split large requests into smaller batches so they process faster. "Quota Exhausted โ€“ Please wait before refetching again" in Keyword Explorer Magic This message can appear in Keyword Explorer Magic even when your account still has available quota. This error is being investigated โ€” contact support if you encounter it. Very large keyword batches Very large keyword batches (roughly 8,000+ keywords in a single request) may silently fall back to a slower direct-fetch path due to a known backend limitation, which can produce degraded or unexpected results with no explicit error. Keep single-request batches well below 8,000 keywords to avoid this fallback. ๐Ÿ”ข Why is my Rank Tracker keyword quota full when I track fewer keywords than the limit? Your keyword quota counts every keyword tracked across all projects in your account โ€” not the keywords in a single project, and not a manual count you tally yourself. When the account-wide total reaches your plan limit, the Rank Tracker blocks you from adding new keywords. For example, a Diamond plan includes a 6,000-keyword limit. If your quota shows 6,000 used but you counted far fewer, the difference is almost always keywords tracked in other projects that you haven't included in your count. In one case an account showed a total of 22,455 tracked keywords across all projects, far above the 6,000 limit. You have two ways to resolve a full quota: 1. Upgrade your plan to a keyword limit that covers your current usage (for example, a 25,000-keyword tier if you are tracking around 22,000). 2. Reduce the keywords you track across your projects until the account-wide total falls below your plan limit. After you upgrade or remove enough keywords, the Rank Tracker lets you add new keywords again. If you're unsure which projects are using the most quota, contact support and we can help you review usage and choose the best option. ๐Ÿ“ Page depth and quota โ€” the other reason quota drains faster than expected Quota isn't only driven by how many keywords you track โ€” it's also driven by each project's Keyword Tracking Page Depth setting. Depth controls how many result pages are checked per keyword, and deeper tracking costs more quota per keyword: Top 10 (Page 1) is the baseline, Top 20 (Page 2) uses 2x quota per keyword, Top 50 (Page 5) uses 5x, and Top 100 (Page 10) uses 10x. A project with fewer keywords set to a high depth can consume far more quota than a project with many keywords set to a low depth. If your quota is emptying unusually fast and your keyword count hasn't grown, check each project's page depth setting (the gear icon on the project, in the Keyword Tracking Page Depth field) before assuming it's a tracking error. See our dedicated article on Rank Tracker page depth and quota for the full breakdown and how to change it. ๐Ÿงฎ Why your reported quota usage doesn't match your actual keywords Sometimes the quota the Rank Tracker reports doesn't line up with the keywords you can actually see in your projects. Two backend conditions commonly cause this: - Stale cached counter: The targeted_keywords_count value is a cached counter that can drift from the real number of keywords over time, so it may report more usage than you actually have. - Failed import tasks: Projects stuck with targeted_keywords_task_status = FAILURE (often from failed keyword import tasks) can leave keywords partially registered and inflate your quota usage. How to verify actual vs. reported quota: 1. Tally the keywords visible across all of your projects. 2. Compare that total to the usage your quota reports. 3. If the numbers don't match, contact support and ask us to run a backend scan to identify stuck or failed projects and reconcile the cached counter. Our engineering team is investigating these counter and failed-task issues under SPE-743. ๐Ÿ’ณ Keyword Magic credits consumed unexpectedly There is a known bug in the Keyword Magic Tool where credits can be consumed for failed searches and for viewing historical results that shouldn't cost additional credits. If you've noticed credits disappearing without successful new searches, this bug is the likely cause. Steps to try: - Contact support so we can review and restore credits consumed by failed searches or historical-result viewing. - Engineering is actively deploying a fix; affected customers will have credits restored in the meantime. ๐Ÿ“‰ Content Score shows a "No active account" error This error means all SEMrush data accounts are currently locked by other tasks. It's a known platform-wide issue that can affect multiple users at the same time โ€” not a problem with your account. Steps to try: - Reload the Content Score tab after 2โ€“3 minutes. - Wait for it to clear automatically โ€” this is temporary resource locking. - If it persists for more than 15 minutes, contact support. ๐Ÿ†š Keyword gap analysis returns no results Keyword gap analysis is one of the heaviest API consumers, so a temporarily exceeded DataForSEO quota is the usual cause. Steps to try: - Temporary throttling: run your request during off-peak hours โ€” short throttling windows usually clear within minutes. - Daily plan limit (402 billing error): if you see a "402" message, our DataForSEO plan limit was hit for that day. Data becomes available again the next day when the daily limit resets. ๐Ÿ”— Backlink data in Keyword Research shows as empty When all SEMrush scraping accounts are busy, backlink data for competitor research can't be fetched. This is a shared resource, so heavy simultaneous usage delays individual requests. Steps to try: - Wait 10 minutes, then refresh the competitor backlinks section. ๐Ÿ•’ SERP data is stale or not reflecting recent changes SERP freshness depends on the serp_freshness_days setting in your request, and the default behavior uses cached data. Steps to try: - In Keyword Explorer settings, enable Fetch Fresh SERP Data for real-time results. - Note that fresh SERP requests use more API credits. 0๏ธโƒฃ Keyword volume shows 0 for keywords you know have traffic A volume of 0 usually reflects the data source's reported search volume for that keyword and region rather than an error. Confirm you've selected the correct location and language, then re-run the lookup. If a high-traffic keyword still returns 0, contact support so we can investigate. ๐ŸŽฏ You now know how to tell a temporary data error (DataForSEO or SEMrush limits that clear on their own) from a plan-quota limit (a full Rank Tracker keyword quota that needs an upgrade or fewer tracked keywords). If your quota is full and you're not sure where your tracked keywords are concentrated, reach out to support and we'll help you review usage and pick the right plan.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Keyword Research Troubleshooting

Use this guide to diagnose and fix the most common Keyword Research errors in Search Atlas โ€” including blank results, outdated rankings, stuck bulk jobs, and incorrect country data. ๐Ÿ”Ž Error 1: Keyword Search Returns Blank Results or All Dashes What's happening: The Search Atlas keyword database or a third-party data source is temporarily unavailable. 1. Check your spelling and try keyword variations. 2. Change the target country โ€” a keyword with no US data may have data for UK or CA. If a specific country code consistently returns results for the wrong region (e.g., UK selection returning US data), that is a country-routing bug โ€” escalate using Error 7 below. 3. Wait 10 minutes and retry โ€” data provider outages are usually brief. 4. Try a completely different keyword to determine whether all searches are failing or just this one. 5. Contact support if all keyword searches return empty for more than 30 minutes. A working search returns keyword metrics in the results table. ๐Ÿ“Š Error 2: Competitor Data Columns (SpyFu, SEMrush) Show Empty Values What's happening: A third-party data provider (SpyFu or SEMrush) is temporarily unavailable. 1. Refresh the page and retry after 15 minutes. 2. Try a different competitor domain โ€” the issue may be specific to that domain's data coverage. 3. Switch between data source tabs if available (e.g., from SpyFu to SEMrush view). 4. Note that very new or very small sites have no data in third-party databases โ€” this is expected behavior, not a bug. 5. Contact support if all competitor columns remain empty across all keywords for more than 24 hours. Competitor columns populate once the data provider is back online. โš™๏ธ Error 3: Bulk Keyword Analysis Is Stuck on "Processing" What's happening: Large keyword lists take time to process, and very large lists can time out. 1. For lists over 500 keywords, allow 20โ€“40 minutes before concluding something is wrong. 2. Refresh the page โ€” the job may have completed but the status indicator didn't update. 3. Check your job history: Left Sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research (Keyword lists tab). 4. Split large lists into batches of 250 keywords and resubmit. 5. Remove duplicate keywords from the list before resubmitting. A completed job appears in Keyword Lists with a downloadable results file. ๐Ÿ“ˆ Error 4: Keyword Rankings Haven't Updated in Several Days What's happening: Rank tracking updates on a schedule determined by your plan tier. 1. Check the Last checked timestamp in the Rank Tracker. 2. Confirm the correct search engine, country, and device type are selected. 3. Verify the exact domain format being tracked (www vs. non-www). 4. Check your tracking frequency setting using either path: - Left Sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker โ†’ Select Your Site โ†’ Settings - Left Sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker โ†’ [your site card] โ†’ โ‹ฎ (three vertical dots) โ†’ Settings 5. Contact support if daily-tracked keywords haven't updated in more than 72 hours. Rankings update on your next scheduled tracking cycle once settings are confirmed correct. ๐ŸŒ Error 5: "Live SERP" Check Never Loads What's happening: Live SERP checks are rate-limited and load slower than cached data because they retrieve real-time search results. 1. Wait up to 3 minutes โ€” live SERP checks involve real-time data retrieval. 2. Avoid triggering multiple live checks simultaneously. 3. Wait 15 minutes between runs if you've made several recent requests. 4. Confirm this feature is included in your current plan. 5. Try during off-peak hours (early morning) for faster response times. A successful Live SERP check displays the current search results page for your keyword. ๐Ÿง  Error 6: Keyword Difficulty Scores Look Very Different from Other Tools What's happening: This is expected โ€” each SEO tool calculates difficulty using different data sources, weighting factors, and SERP signals. Score differences across tools are normal, not a bug. - Compare relative difficulty trends rather than absolute scores across tools. - Use Search Atlas Keyword Difficulty as one signal among several. - Cross-reference with SERP analysis and competitor strength for high-value terms. No action is needed โ€” treat Search Atlas Keyword Difficulty as a directional signal alongside other metrics. ๐ŸŒ Error 7: Country-Specific Results Are Wrong (e.g., UK Returns US Data) What's happening: The country-targeting layer occasionally routes queries to the wrong regional dataset, or URLs redirect to the wrong country's SERP. This is a backend routing issue โ€” users cannot fix it directly. 1. Confirm the selected country code in the dropdown matches your intended target. 2. Clear your browser cache and retry once to rule out a stale session. 3. Record a short screen capture showing the country selection and the incorrect results returned. 4. Contact support immediately with the recording and example keywords โ€” this issue requires escalation to the specialized data team and cannot be resolved through standard retries. 5. If you've already reported it, re-test periodically; fixes are deployed without notice and previously failing country codes begin loading correctly once resolved. After escalation, the affected country code returns correct regional data once the fix is deployed. ๐ŸŽฏ You now know how to diagnose and resolve the most common Keyword Research issues in Search Atlas. If a problem persists after trying all steps, contact the Search Atlas support team with your account details and a description of the issue.

๐Ÿ“Š Rank Tracker โ€” Understanding and Resolving SERP Refresh Quota Exhaustion

When the Rank Tracker tells you your SERP refresh quota is exhausted, your account has used all available SERP refreshes for the current billing cycle. Your data is safe โ€” you just need to wait for your quota to reset or expand your plan to keep refreshing. ๐Ÿ” What SERP Refresh Quota Exhaustion Means Every Search Atlas plan includes a monthly allowance of SERP refreshes for the Rank Tracker. Each time you click the SERP refresh button on a Rank Tracker project, one refresh is deducted from your quota. When the quota reaches zero, the Rank Tracker stops triggering new refreshes until more quota becomes available. This affects you if you've used your full monthly SERP refresh allowance and then tried to refresh a Rank Tracker project. No ranking data is lost or corrupted. All previously collected data in your Rank Tracker projects remains in place โ€” quota exhaustion only blocks new refreshes, not stored history. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Restore SERP Refresh Access in the Rank Tracker Follow these steps to confirm the cause and restore SERP refresh access: 1. Check your quota usage. Go to the top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Activity Log and review your current SERP refresh usage, your plan limit, and your next reset date. 2. Choose an option to restore access: - Upgrade your subscription plan. Go to the top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Plans & Top-ups tab and select a higher-tier plan. The new quota becomes available as soon as the upgrade is processed, and you can resume refreshing in the Rank Tracker right away. - Wait for your billing cycle to reset. Your quota resets automatically at the start of your next billing cycle. Check the exact reset date in the top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Activity Log. No action is needed โ€” SERP refreshes resume on their own once the cycle rolls over. - Purchase a SERP refresh add-on. Go to the top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Plans & Top-ups (Add-on button) to buy additional refreshes mid-cycle without changing your plan. The add-on quota is added to your current allowance immediately and stays available until used or until your next reset, whichever comes first. If you don't see an add-on option, contact support to confirm availability for your plan. Once quota is available again โ€” through an upgrade, an add-on, or a billing cycle reset โ€” SERP refreshes in the Rank Tracker will work normally. ๐Ÿ“… When Your SERP Refresh Quota Resets Your SERP refresh quota resets automatically at the start of each billing cycle. The reset is tied to your subscription renewal date, not the calendar month. - Find your reset date: Go to the top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Activity Log to see the exact date your quota refreshes. - No manual action needed: The reset happens automatically โ€” you do not need to click anything or contact support. - Unused quota does not roll over: Each cycle starts with your full plan allowance regardless of how much you used the prior month. Once your billing cycle rolls over, your full monthly allowance is restored automatically and SERP refreshes in the Rank Tracker resume without any action on your part. ๐Ÿ“ž When to Contact Search Atlas Support Reach out to the Search Atlas support team if any of the following apply: - You see a quota-exhaustion message in the Rank Tracker but your Account Settings show that quota is still available. - SERP refreshes continue to fail after your plan is upgraded, an add-on is purchased, or your billing cycle resets. - You need help interpreting your quota usage, locating your reset date, or evaluating which plan or add-on meets your refresh needs. - You don't see a SERP refresh add-on option in your billing settings and want to confirm whether one is available for your plan. Contact support using the chat widget inside your Search Atlas dashboard, or reach out to your account manager directly. When you write in, mention that you've already checked your quota in Account Settings โ€” this helps the team triage your case faster. ๐ŸŽฏ Now that you know how SERP refresh quota controls when the Rank Tracker can pull new ranking data, head to the top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Activity Log to review your current usage, check your reset date, and decide whether to upgrade your plan, purchase an add-on, or wait for the next billing cycle.

๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Competitor Analysis Troubleshooting

This article covers common issues you may encounter when using the Competitor Analysis tool in Search Atlas. If your competitor analysis is not returning expected results, the steps below may help โ€” but because this area is still being documented from real support cases, some issues may require direct assistance from our team. Competitor domain returns no data If adding a competitor domain shows no data, try the following: 1. Double-check the domain format. Enter the domain as example.com without https://, www., or trailing slashes. 2. Test with a well-known competitor domain to confirm the tool is responding. 3. If the domain appears valid and the issue persists, please reach out to our team with the exact domain you entered and a description of what you expected to see so we can investigate. Competitor data appears outdated or incomplete If results seem stale or incomplete: 1. Clear your browser cache and reload the page to rule out a cached session. 2. Try removing and re-adding the competitor domain. 3. If data remains outdated, contact our team with the competitor domain and the specific metric that appears stale so we can look into it on our end. Keyword gap or backlink data is missing If keyword gap or backlink comparison sections are empty or incomplete: 1. Review any active filters โ€” overly restrictive filters can exclude most results. Reset filters to defaults and check again. 2. Make sure both your domain and the competitor domain have been added correctly. 3. Confirm that your project domain is verified and actively tracked in Search Atlas. 4. If data is still missing after adjusting filters, contact our team with your project name, the competitor domain, and the specific section showing no data. Export not working If you are unable to export competitor analysis data: 1. Try a different browser or disable browser extensions that may block downloads. 2. If the issue persists, contact our team and include the browser you are using, the specific export you attempted, and any error message displayed. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

โš ๏ธ Keyword Research โ€” "Show" Button in the Search Intent Column Returns an Error

Clicking the individual Show button next to a keyword in the Search Intent column triggers a "Something went wrong" error and no data loads. This is a known bug โ€” the bulk Show Search Intent button is fully functional and returns the same data. A fix is built and awaiting production deployment. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Workaround: Use the Bulk Show Search Intent Button Select one or more keywords, then click Show Search Intent in the toolbar โ€” it loads the same data at the same detail level as the individual button. 1. Open Keyword Research in Search Atlas. 2. Check the checkbox next to each keyword you want search intent data for. To select all at once, use the header checkbox. 3. Click Show Search Intent in the list view toolbar. 4. Search intent data loads successfully for all selected keywords. To review intent for a single keyword, select just that one keyword before clicking Show Search Intent โ€” it works identically to the individual button. If the bulk button also returns an error, contact our support team so we can investigate your specific account. ๐Ÿ” What's Happening The issue is isolated to the per-row Show button in the Search Intent column. The bulk Show Search Intent button uses a separate endpoint and is not affected. This bug affects all plans that include Search Intent access equally โ€” it is not a quota cap or plan-level limitation. If your plan normally includes Search Intent, you are impacted regardless of workspace type or usage tier. Common symptoms reported by affected users: - "I click Show next to a keyword and it just says 'Something went wrong' โ€” it used to work fine." - "None of my keywords are loading search intent. Is the tool down?" - "I've tried refreshing and clearing cache but the Show button keeps erroring out on every keyword." ๐Ÿ“ก Engineering Status The engineering team identified and resolved this issue internally. The fix is staged and awaiting production deployment โ€” no action is required on your end. This error is not a billing or account-level restriction. It affects all accounts equally and is unrelated to plan type or usage limits. ๐Ÿ“ž When to Contact Support The bulk Show Search Intent workaround resolves this for the vast majority of users. Open a support conversation if: - The bulk Show Search Intent button also returns an error - Search intent data loads but appears incomplete or incorrect - You are unable to select keywords or the toolbar button does not appear ๐ŸŽฏ Use the bulk Show Search Intent button for uninterrupted access to your search intent data. This article will be updated once the fix is confirmed in production โ€” contact our support team if the workaround doesn't fully cover your workflow.

๐Ÿ” Rank Tracker vs Search Console: Ranking Discrepancies Explained

Many customers notice that the keywords they track in the Search Atlas Keyword Rank Tracker do not appear the same way in Google Search Console (GSC). This is expected. The two tools measure rankings in different ways and serve different purposes. This article explains the difference and shows you where to find your watchlisted keywords. ๐Ÿ“Œ Where to Find Your Watchlisted Keywords Your watchlisted keywords live inside the Search Atlas platform, not in Google Search Console. GSC does not have a "watch list" feature, so you will never find these keywords there. To view the keywords you have added to your watch list: 1. Open the Site Explorer or Keyword Rank Tracker from the left-hand menu. 2. Select the project (domain) you are tracking. 3. Click the Rank Tracker tab. 4. Look for the Watchlist or Watchlisted Keywords filter to see only the keywords you have flagged. All keywords you have manually added or marked to monitor will appear in this view, along with their tracked positions over time. ๐Ÿ“Š Why the Two Tools Show Different Rankings The Rank Tracker and Google Search Console use different methods to calculate position, so some difference between them is normal and not a sign of an error. - Rank Tracker checks a keyword's position at a specific moment, for a specific location and device, by scanning the live search results page. - Google Search Console reports an average position based on all the real impressions your site received over a date range, across many locations, devices, and searches. Because GSC averages across many real-world searches and the Rank Tracker takes a targeted snapshot, the numbers will rarely match exactly. ๐Ÿงญ Key Differences at a Glance - Measurement type: Rank Tracker shows a point-in-time position; GSC shows an average over time. - Location: Rank Tracker checks a single chosen location; GSC blends every location your visitors searched from. - Device: Rank Tracker can target a specific device; GSC combines desktop, mobile, and tablet unless you filter. - Data source: Rank Tracker reads the live results page; GSC reflects actual impressions your site earned. - Keyword coverage: Rank Tracker monitors the exact keywords you choose; GSC only reports keywords that already generated impressions. โœ… How to Compare Them Correctly If you want the closest possible comparison between the two tools, try the following: 1. In GSC, filter by the same country and device you set in your Rank Tracker. 2. Use a short, recent date range in GSC to reduce averaging. 3. Compare the same exact keyword in both tools. 4. Allow for small differences, as live snapshots and averages will never align perfectly. Remember that the Rank Tracker is the best tool for monitoring specific target keywords day to day, while GSC is best for understanding overall search performance and discovering which queries already drive impressions. ๐Ÿ’ก Common Reasons for a Mismatch - The keyword has not yet earned impressions in GSC, so it will not appear there. - Your Rank Tracker and GSC are set to different locations or devices. - GSC's date range is long, which lowers the average position. - Search results are personalized, so live positions can vary between checks. If your keyword appears in the Rank Tracker but not in GSC, the most likely reason is that it has not received any impressions yet. Keep tracking it, and it will appear in GSC once searchers begin seeing your site for that query.

โš ๏ธ Site Explorer Competitors โ€” Sort Icon Misalignment on Common Keywords Column

A visual display issue on the Site Metrics โ†’ Competitors page causes the sort icon for the Common Keywords column to appear next to the SE Keywords header instead of its own column. Sorting is fully operational โ€” this is a display-only bug with a fix actively in progress. ๐Ÿ” What's Happening On the Site Metrics โ†’ Competitors page, the sort icon (โ†•) for the Common Keywords column header renders out of position. When the header text wraps onto multiple lines at certain screen widths or zoom levels, the icon shifts and appears next to the SE Keywords column header โ€” making it visually unclear which column is sortable or currently sorted. - Affected page: Site Metrics โ†’ Competitors - Affected element: Sort icon on the Common Keywords column header - Environment: Production - Affected browsers: Under investigation โ€” appears to occur broadly across modern browsers - Trigger conditions: Under investigation โ€” appears related to column header text wrapping at narrower viewport widths or lower browser zoom levels - Impact: Visual only โ€” sort functionality works correctly ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Workaround Steps Sort functionality is not affected. Use either approach below while the fix is being deployed: 1. Click anywhere within the Common Keywords column header cell โ€” the sort action is bound to the entire header cell, not just the icon. Sorting applies correctly regardless of where the icon appears visually. 2. Increase browser zoom to 110% or higher using Ctrl + + (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + + (Mac) until the column header stops wrapping and the sort icon returns to its correct position. ๐Ÿ“ก Engineering Status Our engineering team has identified the root cause and is actively working on a fix. The fix will be deployed in an upcoming release โ€” no action is required on your end. This article will be updated when the issue is resolved. ๐Ÿ“ž When to Contact Support This issue is known and actively tracked. Contact our support team if: - Clicking the Common Keywords column header does not trigger sorting - You encounter additional functionality issues on the Competitors page beyond this visual misalignment ๐ŸŒ€ Our engineering team is actively working on a permanent fix โ€” no action is required on your end. In the meantime, clicking the Common Keywords column header sorts the column correctly as expected.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Search Volume Discrepancy Between Keyword Researcher and Keyword Magic Tool

A data processing issue caused Keyword Researcher and Keyword Magic Tool โ€” both features in the Keyword Explorer suite โ€” to display different monthly search volumes for the same keyword and location. The fix was deployed in April 2026; re-running your keyword searches will now return consistent numbers across both tools. ๐Ÿ” What Caused the Discrepancy When you searched for the same keyword โ€” for example, commercial construction โ€” in both Keyword Researcher and Keyword Magic Tool using the same location (such as United States), the two tools displayed significantly different monthly search volume numbers. The discrepancy affected any keyword queried across both tools for the same location. It was caused by a data processing issue, not a change in actual search demand โ€” both tools share the same underlying data source. That processing issue has been corrected. Note: If you have multiple geographic targets configured, volume figures may now reflect combined geo-target search demand following a recent improvement released in April 2026. This is expected behavior, not a new discrepancy. ๐Ÿ”ง Resolution The engineering fix deployed in April 2026 is the resolution. Re-running your keyword searches now returns consistent volume numbers across both Keyword Researcher and Keyword Magic Tool. Any reports, exports, or decisions based on data from either tool before the fix date should be revisited. ๐Ÿ” Why Search Atlas Keyword Volumes Differ From Other Tools

๐Ÿ“Œ Overview If you have compared keyword volume data between Search Atlas and another tool like SEMrush or Ahrefs, you may have noticed that Search Atlas often reports significantly higher numbers โ€” sometimes 3x to 5x higher for the same keyword. This is not an error. It reflects a fundamental difference in how each platform collects, blends, and presents search volume data. ๐Ÿ“Š How Search Atlas Calculates Keyword Volume Search Atlas uses a three-part blended data model to produce keyword volume estimates. This approach is designed to reflect current and near-future demand more accurately than traditional methods. 1. Google Search Console API signals โ€” Real-time impression and click data pulled from Google's own infrastructure, giving Search Atlas direct access to what users are actually searching. 2. Proprietary clickstream data โ€” Aggregated, anonymised behavioural data from millions of user sessions, used to validate and enrich raw API signals. 3. AI-powered demand forecasting โ€” A machine-learning layer that detects seasonal trends, emerging topics, and momentum shifts, projecting forward-looking volume rather than reporting only historical averages. The result is a volume figure that represents current and anticipated search demand, not just a snapshot of the past. ๐Ÿ”„ How Other Tools Like SEMrush Calculate Volume Most competing platforms โ€” including SEMrush โ€” rely primarily on 12-month rolling historical averages derived from third-party clickstream panels. While this produces a stable, conservative figure, it has notable limitations: - Trending or emerging keywords are significantly under-reported because recent spikes are smoothed out. - Seasonal peaks are averaged out rather than reflected at their actual heights. - Data is typically updated monthly or quarterly, creating a lag behind real-world search behaviour. This methodological difference โ€” not a data quality issue on either side โ€” is the primary reason Search Atlas volumes appear higher, especially for trending, seasonal, or niche-specific keywords. ๐Ÿ“ Expected Discrepancy Ranges The size of the gap between Search Atlas and other tools varies by keyword type. Use the ranges below as a general reference: - Evergreen, high-volume keywords (e.g. "project management software"): typically 10โ€“50% higher in Search Atlas. - Seasonal or trend-driven keywords (e.g. "best gifts for Christmas 2025"): typically 2xโ€“4x higher, as the AI forecasting layer captures anticipated peak demand. - Emerging or rapidly growing keywords: potentially 4xโ€“6x higher, because historical average tools have not yet accumulated enough data to reflect current momentum. - Stable, long-tail keywords: differences are usually smaller, often within 10โ€“30%. Neither figure is "wrong." They answer different questions: SEMrush tells you what volume looked like over the past year on average; Search Atlas tells you what volume looks like right now and in the near term. ๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Where to Find Keyword Volume Data in Search Atlas You can access keyword volume across several tools in the platform: - Keyword Magic โ€” Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic. Use this to discover and filter keywords by volume, difficulty, and intent. - Rank Tracker โ€” Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). Monitor tracked keyword positions alongside live volume data. - Keyword Gap โ€” Left sidebar โ†’ Site Metrics โ†’ Keyword Gap. Compare keyword opportunities between your domain and competitors. ๐Ÿ’ณ Pricing Plans, OTTO Add-Ons, and WordPress Integration Search Atlas offers tiered subscription plans that include access to keyword data tools at different usage limits. All plans include core access to Keyword Magic, Rank Tracker, and Keyword Gap. OTTO SEO: OTTO is Search Atlas's SEO automation engine, included in all Search Atlas plans, with the number of OTTO projects depending on the plan and additional OTTO sites available as a top-up. You can activate OTTO from the left sidebar under OTTO SEO โ†’ SEO Automation (URL: /seo-automation-v3). OTTO automates on-page optimisations, technical fixes, and content recommendations across one or more connected sites. Each OTTO activation is tied to a specific website, so managing multiple websites requires an OTTO activation per site โ€” review your plan's included activations before connecting additional properties. WordPress Plugin: The Search Atlas WordPress plugin connects your WordPress sites directly to the platform, enabling you to push content optimisations, monitor rankings, and sync site data without leaving your dashboard. To manage multiple WordPress sites, install the plugin on each site and connect each one individually through the Site Metrics section of your account. There is no limit on the number of WordPress sites you can connect, but OTTO automation for each site requires its own activation. For a detailed breakdown of what each plan includes โ€” such as keyword tracking limits, OTTO activations, and user seats โ€” visit the Billing section inside the platform or review the pricing page on the Search Atlas website. โœ… Key Takeaways - Search Atlas volumes are higher because they blend Google API data, clickstream signals, and AI forecasting โ€” not because the data is inflated. - SEMrush uses conservative 12-month historical averages, which is a different methodology, not a more accurate one. - Expect discrepancies of 10% up to 5x depending on keyword type, with the largest gaps on trending and emerging keywords. - Use Search Atlas volumes to prioritise content based on current and near-future opportunity, rather than past performance alone. ๐Ÿ” Fix Keyword Magic Tool Stalling on Search

๐Ÿงญ Overview If the Keyword Magic Tool displays a spinning icon and never loads results, you are not alone. This is a known issue that can occur when a keyword search returns no data from our index, when a report gets stuck in a loading state, or when a temporary system error interrupts the search. The steps below will help you resolve the issue in most cases. โšก Quick Fixes to Try First 1. Refresh the page. Press F5 (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac) to reload. A temporary glitch is sometimes the only cause. 2. Clear your browser cache. Cached data can conflict with updated tool behaviour. Clear your cache, then reopen the tool. 3. Try a different browser. Open the platform in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge to rule out a browser-specific issue. 4. Disable browser extensions. Ad blockers and script blockers can interfere with search requests. Temporarily disable them and search again. 5. Check your internet connection. A slow or unstable connection can cause requests to time out before results load. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ How to Navigate to the Keyword Magic Tool Make sure you are using the correct location in the platform before searching. 1. In the left sidebar, click Keywords. 2. Select Keyword Magic from the sub-menu. 3. Enter your keyword in the search bar and press Enter. ๐Ÿ’ก Why This Happens There are a few known reasons the Keyword Magic Tool can stall: - Zero results in the index. Some keywords return no data from our search index. When this happens, the tool may spin indefinitely instead of displaying an empty results message. Our engineering team has addressed this in a recent fix, but very niche or newly trending keywords may still be affected. - Report stuck in a loading state. Occasionally a report gets locked in a loading state due to a caching or processing error. Refreshing the page or starting a new search usually clears this. - Slow keyword list load. Large keyword lists with many entries can take longer to process. Give the tool up to 60 seconds before assuming it has stalled, then refresh if nothing appears. ๐Ÿ”„ Step-by-Step Troubleshooting 1. Navigate to Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic in the left sidebar. 2. Try searching for a different, broader keyword to confirm whether the issue is specific to one term. If a broader term loads fine, the original keyword may simply have no data in our index yet. 3. If all searches stall, open the platform in an incognito or private window to eliminate cached data and extensions. 4. If the issue persists in incognito mode, wait 10โ€“15 minutes and try again. Occasional infrastructure load can cause temporary slowdowns. 5. If searches are still stalling after waiting, note the exact keyword you searched and the time the issue occurred โ€” this information will help our support team investigate quickly. โœ… When Results Load Slowly but Eventually If results do appear after a long wait, this is likely related to list processing speed rather than a full stall. Our team has made improvements to reduce load times for large keyword lists. If slow loading is impacting your workflow regularly, please report it so our team can investigate your specific account. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Still Not Working? If you have followed all the steps above and the Keyword Magic Tool is still stalling, our support team can investigate your account directly. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team. Additional Notes Incognito window steps with specific keyboard shortcuts: Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N (Win) / Cmd+Shift+N (Mac); Firefox/Edge: Ctrl+Shift+P (Win) / Cmd+Shift+P (Mac). ๐Ÿ“Š Fix Keyword Rank Tracker Quota Over-Consumption

๐Ÿ” Overview Some customers notice their Keyword Rank Tracker (KRT) quota appears fully consumed well before the end of a billing cycle โ€” even when the number of tracked keywords seems low. This is a known issue caused by stale cached counters that can temporarily inflate your displayed usage. In some cases, the counter may even show more keywords consumed than your plan allows (for example, 6/5). Rest assured, this is a display and sync issue โ€” not a sign that keywords are being tracked without your knowledge. โš™๏ธ How Rank Tracker Quota Works Your Rank Tracker quota represents the total number of keywords you can actively track across all projects in a billing cycle. Each keyword added to a tracking project counts toward this limit. The platform updates these counters in real time; however, under certain conditions, cached counter values can fall out of sync with your actual tracked keyword count, making usage appear higher than it really is. Common situations that can trigger inflated quota readings include: - Adding and then removing keywords from a project in quick succession - Duplicating or restructuring projects - Importing large keyword lists in bulk - A temporary sync delay between the quota counter and the actual tracking state ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Steps to Diagnose Your Actual Usage 1. In the left sidebar, navigate to Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). 2. Open each active project and count the keywords currently set to active tracking. Paused or deleted keywords should not count toward your quota. 3. Compare the total across all projects to the quota shown on your plan. If the numbers do not match, a cached counter is likely the cause. 4. Check whether any projects were recently duplicated, restructured, or bulk-imported โ€” these actions are most commonly associated with counter inflation. โœ… How to Fix an Inflated Quota Counter If your displayed usage does not match your actual tracked keyword count, follow these steps to trigger a counter refresh: 1. Navigate to Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker) in the left sidebar. 2. Open the affected project and remove any keywords you no longer need to track. Even removing one keyword and saving the project can prompt the system to recalculate the counter. 3. Wait up to 15 minutes for the quota display to refresh and reflect the corrected count. 4. If the counter still appears incorrect after 15 minutes, try adding a single new keyword and then removing it to force another recalculation cycle. 5. Refresh your browser and check the quota display again. In most cases, this process brings the displayed quota back in line with your actual usage. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Avoid Quota Issues Going Forward - Audit your projects regularly. Remove keywords you are no longer actively monitoring to keep your count accurate and free up quota space. - Avoid rapid bulk changes. Adding or deleting large numbers of keywords in quick succession increases the chance of a counter sync delay. - Use one project per domain where possible. Consolidating tracking into fewer projects reduces the risk of duplicate counting. - Check quota before importing. Before a large keyword import, confirm you have enough remaining quota to avoid hitting the limit mid-import. โ“ Frequently Asked Questions Will I be charged extra if my counter shows over-consumption? No. The inflated counter is a display issue caused by stale cached data. You will not be billed for keywords beyond what your plan allows. My counter shows more than my plan limit (e.g., 6/5). Is that possible? This is a known display anomaly. The counter can temporarily exceed your plan limit due to a caching bug. Follow the steps above to reset it. Your actual tracked keywords are still governed by your plan limit. How long does a quota counter reset take? Counter recalculations typically complete within 5โ€“15 minutes after a keyword is added or removed from a project. Can I get quota restored if I lost tracking due to this issue? If you believe the bug caused you to lose access to keyword tracking for a significant period, our support team can review your account and assist. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

Fix Keyword Rank Tracker Not Showing Rankings

What Is the Rank Tracker? The Rank Tracker is a dedicated tool for monitoring keyword positions over time for projects you have set up manually. It is different from the Organic Keywords report found in Site Metrics, which shows a snapshot of keywords a site already ranks for based on third-party data. If you are seeing a blank screen or no rankings after opening the Rank Tracker, the steps below can help you identify the cause. Step 1: Confirm You Have an Active Tracking Project The Rank Tracker only displays data for keywords that have been added to a tracking project. If no project exists, the tool will appear empty. - Check whether any projects are listed in the Rank Tracker. - If no projects are listed, create a new tracking project by adding the domain and keywords you want to monitor. - If projects are listed, click on a project name to expand it and view the keyword rankings inside. Step 2: Allow Time for Initial Data to Load When a new tracking project is created or new keywords are added, rankings are not available instantly. The system needs time to retrieve position data. - Newly created projects may take time to display initial ranking data โ€” check back the following day if the project was set up recently. - Do not delete and recreate the project, as this resets the data collection window. Step 3: Check Whether Additional Projects Are Hidden If you manage multiple tracking projects, not all of them may be visible at once. Scroll through the project list to see if additional entries are available to load, and locate the project you want to review. Step 4: Check That the Correct Domain Is Tracked Rankings will not display correctly if the domain entered during project setup does not match the site you are expecting to see data for. - Open the project in question and review the domain associated with it. - Confirm the domain format is correct โ€” for example, without a trailing slash or unintended subdomain. - If the domain is incorrect, you may need to create a new project with the correct domain. Step 5: Verify Your Account Permissions and Plan Access to the Rank Tracker and the number of trackable keywords may be limited depending on your subscription plan. - Check that your account plan includes access to the Rank Tracker feature. - If you are a team member, confirm with your account owner that your user role has permission to view rank tracking projects. If you have worked through the steps above and keyword rankings are still not appearing, please have the following ready when you contact support: your project name, the domain being tracked, and approximately when the project was created or last updated. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

โ˜๏ธ Fix Cloudflare Deployment Lag and Rank Tracker Setup

๐Ÿ” Overview When deploying OTTO SEO optimizations across multiple CDN and hosting providers, most providers go live within minutes. Cloudflare, however, can sometimes remain in an Awaiting status even after all other providers have successfully deployed. This article explains why this happens, what you can do about it, and how to continue tracking your keyword rankings in the meantime. โ˜๏ธ Why Cloudflare Shows 'Awaiting' Status Cloudflare operates its own global edge network with strict API rate limits and propagation rules. Unlike traditional hosting providers, Cloudflare requires an additional verification and token handshake before OTTO SEO can push changes through its API. The most common reasons for an Awaiting status are: - API token permissions: The Cloudflare API token connected to your Stack may be missing the required zone-level edit permissions. - Cache propagation delay: Cloudflare's edge nodes can take longer than standard hosts to register and confirm new deployments. - Zone ID mismatch: If the domain was recently migrated or re-added to Cloudflare, the Zone ID stored in your Stack may be outdated. - Rate limiting: High-volume domains with frequent deployments may temporarily hit Cloudflare's API rate limits, causing queued requests to stall. In the case of Stack ID 24055 for hugehealthfitness.com, the 13 other providers deploying successfully confirms the issue is isolated to the Cloudflare connection itself, not your overall Stack configuration. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Steps to Resolve the Awaiting Status 1. Verify your Cloudflare API token. Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard, navigate to My Profile โ†’ API Tokens, and confirm the token assigned to your domain has Zone:DNS:Edit, Zone:Zone:Read, Workers Scripts:Edit, Workers Routes:Edit, and Workers KV Storage:Edit permissions enabled. 2. Confirm the correct Zone ID. In Cloudflare, go to your domain's Overview page and copy the Zone ID from the right-hand panel. Compare this to the Zone ID stored in your OTTO SEO Stack settings and update it if they differ. 3. Re-authenticate the Cloudflare connection. Inside the platform, navigate to your Stack settings, disconnect the Cloudflare integration, and reconnect it using your updated API token. This forces a fresh handshake. 4. Trigger a manual re-deploy. After reconnecting, select the affected Stack and click Re-deploy for the Cloudflare provider. Monitor the status over the next 5โ€“15 minutes. 5. Wait for propagation if status remains. If the status updates to Processing after re-deploying, allow up to 30 minutes for Cloudflare's edge network to fully propagate the changes before checking again. ๐Ÿ“Š Track Your Keyword Rankings While You Wait A Cloudflare deployment delay does not affect your ability to monitor keyword performance. You can set up or review your Rank Tracker at any time using the steps below. 1. In the left sidebar, click Keywords, then select Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). 2. If you have not yet added keywords for your domain, click Start Tracking and enter the target terms you want to monitor for hugehealthfitness.com. 3. Select your target location, device type (desktop or mobile), and search engine, then click Save. 4. Rankings will begin populating within 24 hours. Return to Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker at any time to view position history, changes, and trend data. To discover additional keyword opportunities while your Cloudflare deployment completes, go to Keywords โ†’ Keyword Gap to compare your domain against competitors, or use Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic to expand your target keyword list. โœ… How to Confirm Cloudflare Is Successfully Deployed Once the issue is resolved, the Cloudflare provider card in your Stack will update from Awaiting to Live. You can verify this by opening your Stack in OTTO SEO and reviewing the provider status list. All providers, including Cloudflare, should display a green Live badge when deployment is complete. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Prevent Future Delays - Use a dedicated Cloudflare API token for OTTO SEO rather than a global account token โ€” this reduces the risk of permission conflicts. - Avoid making simultaneous bulk changes in both Cloudflare's dashboard and OTTO SEO, as competing API calls can cause queuing delays. - If your domain's nameservers or Cloudflare plan change, re-authenticate the integration in your Stack settings as soon as possible to keep the Zone ID current. ๐Ÿ™‹ Need More Help? โš ๏ธ Keyword Magic Tool Spinning Indefinitely on Certain Searches

We are aware of an issue in the Keyword Magic Tool where searching certain keywords causes a permanent loading spinner instead of showing a no-results message. A fix is currently awaiting release. ๐Ÿ” What's Happening When you search a keyword that has no data in the Search Atlas index, the Keyword Magic Tool enters an indefinite loading state. The spinner does not resolve and no "no results" message appears โ€” the tool looks stuck or frozen for that search. This only affects keywords with zero indexed results. Searches for keywords that do have indexed data continue to work normally. โš ๏ธ Known Impact This bug may cause incorrect credit/quota deductions during failed searches. If you have lost credits due to this issue, contact Support for a quota review and potential reset. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Workaround Steps Because the issue is triggered only when a keyword returns zero indexed results, searching a related term that has data resolves normally. If the spinner is already active, refresh the page first, then try one of the following: 1. Shorten your phrase โ€” search individual words instead of a full multi-word query. 2. Use a synonym or closely related term (for example, running shoes instead of jogging footwear). 3. Remove qualifiers such as location names, brand names, or modifiers and search the broader topic first. There is no way to force-resolve the spinner for a specific zero-result keyword without navigating away or refreshing the page. Example keywords reported: medicaid work requirements software. Any zero-result keyword may trigger this state. ๐Ÿ“ก Engineering Status Our engineering team has completed the fix and it is currently awaiting release. Once deployed, the Keyword Magic Tool will properly recognize zero-result states and display the appropriate no-results message. We will update this article once the fix is live. ๐Ÿ“ž When to Contact Support The workaround above covers most cases. Reach out to our support team if: - Broader or modified keyword variations also spin indefinitely โ€” this may indicate a separate issue. - The spinner occurs on keywords that previously returned results. - You need to confirm whether a specific keyword is expected to have data in the index before escalating to your team. - You have consumed quota or credits on failed searches due to this issue โ€” please contact Support with your account details and we will review your quota consumption and provide a reset if warranted. ๐ŸŽฏ Our team is actively working to restore the expected no-results state in the Keyword Magic Tool โ€” we appreciate your patience and will update this article as soon as the fix is deployed.

๐Ÿ“Š Why GSC Instant Indexing Doesn't Show All Pages

๐Ÿ” Overview GSC Instant Indexing is a powerful feature inside Search Atlas that lets you submit URLs directly to Google Search Console for faster indexing. However, many customers notice that not all of their pages appear or can be submitted at once. This article explains exactly why that happens and what you can do about it. ๐Ÿ“‹ How GSC Instant Indexing Slots Work GSC Instant Indexing operates on a slot-based system tied directly to Google's own API quota limits. Here is what you need to know: - Daily slot limit: Google allows a maximum of 200 URL submissions per day per Google Search Console property through the Indexing API. - Slot reset: Your available slots reset every 24 hours at midnight (UTC). - Per-property limit: Each connected GSC property has its own independent slot quota. If you have multiple properties connected, each one has its own 200-slot daily limit. - Slot consumption: Every URL you submit through GSC Instant Indexing consumes one slot, regardless of whether Google ultimately indexes the page. If you have more than 200 pages to submit, or if your slots are already partially used, some pages will not appear in the submission queue until new slots become available the following day. โ“ Common Reasons Pages Are Not Showing - Daily limit reached: You have already used all 200 slots for the day on that GSC property. - Property not connected: The page belongs to a domain that is not yet linked to a verified GSC property inside Search Atlas. - URL not eligible: The URL may be blocked by a noindex tag, robots.txt, or a canonical tag pointing elsewhere, making it ineligible for submission. - Crawl not completed: Search Atlas has not yet crawled that page, so it has not entered the indexing pipeline. - Duplicate or redirected URLs: Redirect chains or duplicate pages are filtered out automatically to protect your quota. โšก OTTO Instant Indexing: The Alternative for Larger Sites If your site has hundreds or thousands of pages and the 200-slot daily limit is a bottleneck, OTTO Instant Indexing is the recommended solution. OTTO is Search Atlas's AI-powered SEO automation engine, and its Instant Indexing feature works differently from the standard GSC method. Here is how OTTO Instant Indexing compares: - Higher throughput: OTTO uses multiple indexing channels beyond Google's standard Indexing API, allowing it to process significantly more URLs without being constrained by the 200-slot daily cap. - Automated prioritisation: OTTO intelligently prioritises which pages to submit first based on SEO value, crawl depth, and content freshness โ€” so your most important pages are always handled first. - Continuous operation: Once activated, OTTO monitors your site for new or updated pages and submits them automatically without manual intervention. - Broader compatibility: OTTO Instant Indexing works across page types including new content, updated content, and pages recovered from indexing errors. ๐Ÿš€ How to Switch to or Activate OTTO Instant Indexing 1. Log in to your Search Atlas account and navigate to OTTO SEO โ†’ All Sites (SEO Automation) from the left-hand menu. 2. Select the website you want to manage and click Activate OTTO if it is not already running. 3. Inside the OTTO dashboard, locate the Instant Indexing panel. 4. Toggle Instant Indexing to On. 5. OTTO will begin auditing your site and automatically queuing eligible URLs for submission. You can monitor progress directly in the panel. If OTTO is already active on your site, check the Instant Indexing toggle to confirm it is enabled. You can also manually add specific URLs to the OTTO submission queue by clicking Add URLs within the panel. โœ… Best Practices for Maximising Indexing Coverage - Use OTTO Instant Indexing for large-scale or ongoing indexing needs and reserve GSC Instant Indexing for targeted, high-priority page submissions. - Prioritise submitting new content and recently updated pages first to make the most of your daily slots. - Ensure all target pages are free of noindex tags, canonical conflicts, and robots.txt blocks before submitting. - Connect all relevant GSC properties inside Search Atlas to maximise the total slot pool available to you. - Check the Indexing Status report in Search Atlas regularly to identify pages that remain unindexed and need resubmission. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Need Help? ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Why Topical Maps Show Zero-Volume Keywords

๐Ÿ” Overview When you generate a Topical Map in Search Atlas, you may notice some suggested keywords show zero or very low search volume โ€” for example, a phrase like Toilet Overflow Repair Near Me. This can feel confusing, but it does not mean these keywords are useless. This article explains why this happens and how to make the most of your Topical Map results. ๐Ÿ’ก Why Zero-Volume Keywords Appear in Topical Maps Topical Maps are built to map out the full topical authority of a subject, not just to surface high-traffic keywords. The tool uses semantic and entity-based analysis to identify every subtopic and related concept that search engines associate with your core topic โ€” regardless of whether those subtopics currently show measurable search volume. There are two main reasons a keyword may show zero volume: - The keyword is semantically important but niche. Search engines understand topical relationships. Covering a subtopic โ€” even a low-traffic one โ€” signals to Google that your site is a comprehensive authority on the broader subject. This can improve your rankings for higher-volume related terms. - Search volume data has limitations. Volume metrics are based on historical data samples. A keyword with zero recorded volume may still receive real searches, especially long-tail or hyper-local phrases, or it may be an emerging topic not yet captured in volume databases. In short, a zero-volume keyword in your Topical Map is not a mistake โ€” it is a deliberate signal that this subtopic belongs in a thorough content strategy for your niche. ๐Ÿ“Š How to Check Search Volume for Topical Map Keywords Topical Maps are designed for topical coverage planning, not keyword-by-keyword traffic analysis. To view detailed search volume data alongside your keywords, use the Keyword Researcher tool. Follow these steps: 1. In the left sidebar, click Keywords to open the Keyword Researcher (URL: /research/keyword-researcher). 2. Copy a keyword from your Topical Map that you want to evaluate. 3. Paste it into the Keyword Researcher search bar and run a search. 4. Review the search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, and trend data returned for that term. 5. Repeat this process for any other keywords from your Topical Map that you want to prioritise or deprioritise based on volume. This workflow lets you combine the broad topical coverage of your Topical Map with the precise volume data available in the Keyword Researcher, giving you a complete picture before you plan your content. ๐Ÿ“ How to Use Topical Map Keywords in the Content Planner Once you have reviewed volume data and decided which keywords to target, you can move them directly into your content workflow. Here is how: 1. In the left sidebar, click Content, then select Topical Maps. 2. Open or generate the Topical Map for your topic. 3. Select the keywords or subtopics you want to target. Use the Keyword Researcher data you gathered earlier to guide your selections. 4. Add the selected keywords to your content plan by navigating to Content โ†’ Content Planner in the left sidebar. 5. From the Content Planner, create new content briefs or assign keywords to existing pages. You do not need to act on every keyword in a Topical Map. Focus on subtopics that align with your audience's needs, your site's existing authority, and your business goals. Zero-volume keywords can still be woven naturally into content that primarily targets a higher-volume primary keyword. โœ… Best Practices for Zero-Volume Keywords - Do not ignore them entirely. Covering zero-volume subtopics helps build topical depth, which is a key ranking signal for modern search engines. - Use them as supporting content. Rather than building a standalone page for every zero-volume term, consider covering several related low-volume subtopics within a single comprehensive article or pillar page. - Monitor over time. Search trends evolve. A zero-volume keyword today may gain traction as user behaviour changes or a topic grows in popularity. - Cross-reference with the Keyword Researcher before deciding whether to create dedicated pages for individual subtopics. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Still Have Questions? ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Fix Report Builder Keyword Rank Tracker Errors

๐Ÿ” What Is This Error? When you open or download a Full Report in Report Builder, you may see an error related to the Keyword Rank Tracker (KRT) section. This typically appears as an infinite loading state or an explicit error message where your tracked keyword data should appear. The most common cause is that the Rank Tracker connection linked to your report has been disabled or disconnected. Report Builder relies on an active, linked KRT project to pull keyword ranking data. If that connection is broken, the KRT section of your report cannot load. โš ๏ธ Common Symptoms - The KRT section of your Full Report is stuck on a loading spinner. - An error message appears instead of keyword ranking data. - The rest of the report loads correctly, but keyword data is missing. - Downloading the report produces an incomplete or errored file. ๐Ÿ”Ž How to Diagnose the Problem 1. In the left sidebar, navigate to Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). 2. Check whether the KRT project associated with your report is listed and active. 3. If the project is missing, paused, or shows a connection warning, that is the source of the error. 4. Go back to Report Builder and open the affected report's settings to confirm which KRT project is linked. โœ… How to Fix the Error Follow these steps to restore your KRT data in Report Builder: 1. Navigate to Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker) in the left sidebar. 2. Locate the KRT project that should be linked to your report. If it has been paused or disabled, re-enable it. 3. If the project no longer exists, create a new Rank Tracker project for the same domain and configure your tracked keywords. 4. Open Reports and select the affected Full Report. 5. Go into the report's settings and update the KRT integration to point to the active project. 6. Save your changes and reload the report. The KRT section should now display keyword data correctly. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Prevent This Error - Do not delete or pause KRT projects that are actively linked to a Report Builder report. - If you need to restructure your Rank Tracker projects, update the Report Builder link at the same time. - After making any changes to your KRT project, open the linked report to confirm data is loading before sharing it with a client. - Periodically review your Report Builder reports to ensure all integrations โ€” including KRT โ€” show active connections. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Seeing the Error? If you have followed the steps above and the KRT error persists in your Full Report, our team is ready to help. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team. Additional Notes No data loss occurs; the connection simply needs to be re-enabled. Also: open project settings via gear icon or project name menu, check if connection is set to disabled/inactive, toggle back to enabled/active. If report doesn't load within a few minutes after fix, try refreshing your browser tab.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Heatmap Rankings and Multilingual SERP Behavior Explained

๐Ÿ” Why Your Heatmap Shows 20+ for a #1-Ranked Site If your site ranks #1 for a branded term but your heatmap displays a position of 20 or higher, the most common cause in multilingual markets is language mixing in Google's search results. In regions like Lebanon, Google serves a blended SERP โ€” combining Arabic-language and English-language results based on the user's language settings, device locale, and search history. When a heatmap tool scans grid points across a geographic area, it simulates searches from different virtual users who may have different language preferences. The tool then averages the position data across all those simulated results โ€” including both language variants โ€” which can dramatically inflate the reported ranking number. For example, if your English-language site ranks #1 in English-language SERPs but does not appear in the top 20 of Arabic-language SERPs for the same query, the heatmap may average those results to show a position around 10โ€“20+, even though your actual English-language visibility is excellent. ๐ŸŒ How Google Mixes Languages in Multilingual Markets Google personalizes search results based on several signals: - Browser and device language settings โ€” a user with Arabic as their primary language will see more Arabic results. - Google account language preference โ€” signed-in users receive results tuned to their account's language. - Regional search trends โ€” in Lebanon, both Arabic and English queries are common for the same topics, so Google often blends results. - Query language โ€” even an English-language query typed by an Arabic-preferring user may return a mixed SERP. This means two users in the same city searching the same branded term can see completely different result sets depending on their language settings. Heatmap tools that do not lock to a specific language will capture this variation and reflect it in averaged position data. ๐Ÿ“Š How Heatmap Tools Average Positions Across Language Variants Heatmap ranking tools place virtual grid points across a geographic area and simulate a search from each point. Unless a specific language or locale is pinned, the tool uses a default or mixed-language query environment. The result is: - Grid points where English results dominate โ†’ your site shows #1. - Grid points where Arabic results dominate โ†’ your site may not appear in the top 20. - The heatmap displays an average or blended position across all grid points, hiding your true English-language performance. This is not a data error โ€” it is an accurate reflection of the full multilingual SERP landscape. However, it can be misleading if you are only trying to measure performance for one language segment. โš™๏ธ How to Filter Reports by Language to Isolate Rankings To get an accurate picture of your English-only or Arabic-only rankings in Search Atlas, follow these steps: 1. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords to open the Keyword Researcher tool. 2. When setting up or editing a keyword tracking project, locate the Language and Location settings. 3. Set the language to English (or Arabic, depending on the segment you want to isolate) and confirm the location is set to Lebanon. 4. Save the configuration and allow the tool to re-pull ranking data under those specific parameters. 5. Compare the language-specific report against your blended report to identify the gap caused by multilingual SERP mixing. Running two separate keyword tracking configurations โ€” one for English, one for Arabic โ€” is the most reliable method for markets like Lebanon where both languages are actively served by Google. ๐Ÿท๏ธ Branded vs. Non-Branded Rankings in Multilingual Markets Branded terms behave differently from non-branded terms in multilingual SERPs: - Branded terms โ€” your site typically dominates English-language SERPs for your own brand name. However, if Arabic-language pages about your brand are thin or absent, Arabic-preferring users may not see you at all, pulling down blended heatmap averages. - Non-branded terms โ€” competition is higher in both languages, so multilingual mixing has a less dramatic visible effect on your reported position. If your heatmap shows a poor average position for a branded term, it is a strong signal that your site has low visibility in Arabic-language SERPs, even if your English-language ranking is perfect. Consider whether adding Arabic-language content or hreflang tags could improve your Arabic SERP presence. ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง Troubleshooting Steps for Lebanon-Specific SEO Tracking 1. Confirm your tracking language settings โ€” in the Keywords section, verify that your project is set to the correct language (English or Arabic) and location (Lebanon). 2. Run a manual Google search โ€” open an incognito window, go to google.com.lb, and search your branded term in both English and Arabic to compare raw SERP results. 3. Check hreflang implementation โ€” if your site has both English and Arabic versions, confirm that hreflang tags correctly signal the language and region to Google (en-LB and ar-LB). 4. Create separate heatmap scans per language โ€” set one scan to English/Lebanon and another to Arabic/Lebanon to get clean, language-isolated position data. 5. Review your Google Search Console data โ€” filter by country (Lebanon) and check impressions and average position split by query language to validate what Search Atlas is reporting. 6. Monitor over time โ€” multilingual SERP blending can shift seasonally as user language behavior changes. Track both language segments weekly for the most reliable trend data. ๐Ÿ’ก Key Takeaways - A heatmap showing 20+ positions while you rank #1 for branded terms is almost always caused by multilingual SERP averaging, not a tracking error. - In Lebanon, Google actively mixes Arabic and English results, and heatmap tools capture this blended reality. - Filtering your reports by a single language in the Keywords tool gives you accurate, actionable data. - Running parallel tracking projects โ€” one per language โ€” is best practice for any multilingual market. ๐Ÿ’ก Meta Keywords, Indexing, and Report Discrepancies Explained

๐Ÿ” Overview This article answers three common questions from Search Atlas users: whether deploying meta keywords affects your Google rankings, whether Search Atlas supports instant indexing, and why click counts in shared reports may not match what you see in Google Search Console (GSC). Read on for clear, practical answers to each. ๐Ÿท๏ธ Do Meta Keywords Impact Site Rankings? The short answer is no. Google officially stopped using the meta keywords tag as a ranking signal in 2009. Adding or removing meta keywords will not improve or hurt your position in Google search results. Other major search engines, including Bing, also ignore or heavily discount this tag. Here is what you should know: - Meta titles and meta descriptions do matter. They influence click-through rates and how your pages appear in search results. - Meta keywords are a legacy field. Including them causes no harm, but they provide no SEO benefit with modern search engines. - If you are auditing existing pages, do not prioritise adding or removing meta keywords. Focus your effort on optimising meta titles and descriptions instead. Search Atlas includes tools to help you generate and manage meta titles and descriptions. Refer to the platform's navigation to locate the relevant meta tag features. โšก Does Search Atlas Support Instant Indexing? Search Atlas does not currently offer a dedicated instant indexing feature integrated directly into the platform. To get pages indexed as quickly as possible, you can take the following general steps: 1. Use Google Search Console directly. The fastest way to request indexing for a specific URL is to use the URL Inspection tool inside GSC and submit a crawl request for that page. 2. Submit your XML sitemap. Make sure your sitemap is submitted and up to date inside GSC so Google can discover your pages efficiently. 3. Check for technical crawl issues. Ensure there are no technical barriers preventing Googlebot from discovering or crawling your pages. Search Atlas provides audit tools to help identify such issues โ€” refer to the platform's navigation to locate them. 4. Build internal links. Pages with strong internal linking are discovered and crawled faster. Use Search Atlas's content planning tools to structure a well-connected site. If instant indexing via the Google Indexing API is a feature you would like to see added to Search Atlas, you can submit a feature request through the support chat widget. ๐Ÿ“Š Why Do Click Counts in Shared Reports Not Match GSC? It is common to notice differences between the click data shown in a Search Atlas shared report and the data you see directly in Google Search Console. This discrepancy is expected and typically has the following causes: - Date range differences. The date range selected when the shared report was generated may not match the date range you are currently viewing in GSC. Always confirm both are set to the same period before comparing numbers. - Data sampling and delays. GSC data can be delayed by several days and may be subject to sampling, meaning the numbers you see in GSC at any given moment may not yet be final or complete. - Report snapshot timing. A shared Search Atlas report captures data at the time it was generated. If GSC updates its data after the report was shared, the numbers will diverge. - Filter differences. GSC allows filtering by country, device, search type, and other dimensions. If your GSC view has active filters that differ from how the Search Atlas report was configured, click counts will not match. To resolve a discrepancy, compare both sources using the same date range, with no additional filters applied, and allow at least 48โ€“72 hours for GSC data to stabilise before drawing conclusions. If numbers still appear inconsistent after accounting for the above, note the specific date range, the values shown in each source, and the report link so that our team can investigate further. โš ๏ธ Rank Tracker โ€” Keywords Added to a List Do Not Appear Until Page Refresh

We're aware of an issue in the Rank Tracker where keywords you add to a list don't appear immediately. Your keywords are saved successfully โ€” a manual page refresh is all it takes to make them visible. ๐Ÿ” What's Happening After you add one or more keywords to an existing list or a newly created list in the Rank Tracker, the list display does not update automatically. The page must reload before it reflects the new keywords. This affects all Rank Tracker users who add keywords to lists. If your list appears unchanged after adding keywords, the keywords were still saved โ€” nothing was lost. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Workaround Steps You can add multiple keywords in one session before refreshing. All of them will be saved and visible after a single reload. 1. Add your keywords to the list in Rank Tracker as usual. 2. Press F5 or click your browser's Refresh button to reload the page. 3. Your keywords will appear in the list after the page reloads. You do not need to re-enter any keywords โ€” one refresh is enough to display everything you added in that session. ๐Ÿ“ก Engineering Status Our engineering team has identified the root cause of this display issue and has addressed it. A fix is currently being rolled out. No further action is required on your end beyond the workaround above while the update deploys. ๐Ÿ“ž When to Contact Support Reach out to our support team if any of the following occur: - Keywords are still missing after you refresh the page. - The list shows a different set of keywords than what you added. - The issue continues after this article is marked resolved. When contacting support, include your list name, the keywords you attempted to add, and your browser name and version so our team can investigate quickly. ๐ŸŒ€ Your data is safe โ€” this is a display-only issue and our team is actively rolling out a fix. Use the page refresh workaround above to see your keywords right away, and contact support if the workaround does not resolve it for you.

๐Ÿ” Keyword Magic Tool Stuck Loading or Timing Out

๐Ÿ” What This Article Covers Some users experience the Keyword Magic Tool spinning indefinitely or timing out โ€” especially when searching longer, multi-word seed phrases. This article explains why this happens, what was fixed, and what to do if you still encounter the issue. โš ๏ธ What the Problem Looks Like - You enter a multi-word seed phrase (for example, a three- to five-word phrase) and click Search. - The tool shows a loading spinner that never resolves. - No keyword variations or results appear, even after waiting several minutes. - The issue persists across browsers and after clearing your cache. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What Was Causing It Our engineering team identified and resolved several underlying issues that caused this behaviour: - Zero-result queries were never cached. When a seed phrase returned no results from the search index, the tool would spin indefinitely instead of displaying an empty state. - Performance bottlenecks in keyword list loading. Missing database indexes, redundant queries, and full-list reprocessing caused slow or stalled responses under certain conditions. - Unhandled exceptions for specific keyword searches. Certain keyword patterns triggered errors that prevented results from loading at all. All of these issues have been resolved and the fixes are live in production. โœ… Steps to Try If You Are Still Seeing the Issue 1. Refresh the page and try your search again. Now that the fix is live, most searches that previously timed out should complete successfully. 2. Try a slightly different version of your seed phrase. If a very specific multi-word phrase still produces no results, try shortening it by one or two words to confirm the tool is responding correctly. 3. Clear your browser cache. Cached data from before the fix can occasionally interfere. Clear your cache, reload the platform, and repeat your search. 4. Try a different browser or an incognito window. This rules out browser-specific issues or extensions that may interfere with loading. 5. Navigate away and return. Go to a different section of the platform, then return to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic and run your search again. ๐Ÿ“‹ When Results Are Empty vs. When the Tool Is Broken After the fix, if a seed phrase genuinely has no keyword data available, the tool will now return an empty result state rather than spinning indefinitely. An empty result is not a bug โ€” it means the phrase has no matching keyword variations in the database. Try a broader or shorter seed phrase in that case. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Experiencing the Issue? If the Keyword Magic Tool is still spinning or timing out after following the steps above, please let us know so our team can investigate further. ๐ŸŒ Multi-Country Keyword Tracking and Quota Management

๐Ÿ“‹ Overview In Search Atlas, keyword tracking is managed through the Rank Tracker. Every keyword you track is counted against your account's keyword quota โ€” but there is a critical detail that surprises many users: tracking the same keyword in multiple countries counts as a separate quota unit for each country. This article explains how quota works, why it depletes faster than you expect, and how to avoid running out. ๐ŸŒ How Multi-Country Tracking Consumes Quota When you add a keyword to the Rank Tracker, you must select a target country. Each unique combination of keyword + country is treated as one tracked keyword and deducted from your quota. Here is a practical example: - You want to track 20 keywords across 5 countries (e.g., UK, US, Canada, Australia, Germany). - That is 20 keywords ร— 5 countries = 100 quota units consumed, not 20. - If your quota was nearly full, adding those 100 units could exceed your limit โ€” even though you are only adding 20 keyword terms. This is the most common reason customers believe they are adding only a small number of keywords but instantly exhaust their quota. โš™๏ธ How Keyword Quota Is Calculated Your keyword quota is an account-level limit โ€” it is shared across all projects, all clients, and all countries tracked in your Rank Tracker. There is no separate quota pool per country or per project. Each quota unit is consumed when: - A keyword is added to the Rank Tracker for a specific country. - A keyword is duplicated across multiple countries for the same project. - A keyword is added for a new client project in an additional country. Quota is not consumed by simply searching for or viewing keyword data outside of the Rank Tracker. Only actively tracked keywords in the Rank Tracker count against your limit. ๐Ÿ” Why Your Quota Looks Wrong: Worked Examples Scenario 1: Your quota is maxed out and you cannot add more keywords Your account has reached its maximum limit. Even adding a single keyword in one country is not possible until you free up space. To resolve this, open the Rank Tracker, review your tracked keywords, and remove keywords that are no longer needed โ€” especially any that are tracked across multiple countries you are not actively using. Removing one keyword tracked in five countries frees five quota units. Scenario 2: You have remaining quota but cannot add a batch of keywords This almost always means the batch of keywords is being added across multiple countries. For example, 50 keyword terms tracked across 5 countries equals 250 quota units โ€” not 50. Check how many countries are selected when adding keywords in bulk, and reduce the number of countries if you are close to your limit. โœ… Best Practices for Managing Keyword Quota - Audit regularly: Periodically review all tracked keywords in the Rank Tracker and remove any that are no longer providing value. - Prioritize countries: Only track keywords in the countries that are directly relevant to your active campaigns. - Plan before adding in bulk: Before adding a large keyword list, multiply the number of keyword terms by the number of countries selected to estimate the quota impact. - Remove before adding: If you are near your quota limit, remove unused keyword-country combinations before adding new ones. ๐Ÿ” Restore a Deactivated Rank Tracker Project

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Overview Rank Tracker projects can occasionally become deactivated, making them invisible in your project list. When this happens, the keywords and historical ranking data inside those projects are not permanently deleted โ€” they may still be recoverable by the engineering team. This article explains how to identify the issue, what information to gather, and how to request a restoration. ๐Ÿ”Ž How to Tell If a Project Is Deactivated (Not Just Missing) A deactivated project is different from a deleted one. Signs that a project may be deactivated rather than gone include: - A project you created previously no longer appears in your Rank Tracker project list. - You remember the project name and the keywords it tracked, but there is no trace of it in the interface. - Other projects in the same account are working normally. - The disappearance happened suddenly, without you manually deleting anything. If one or more of your projects match this description, the data may still be restorable. ๐Ÿ“‹ Information to Collect Before Contacting Support Gathering the right details before reaching out speeds up the recovery process significantly. Please have the following ready: - Project name(s): The exact name or a close approximation of the missing project (for example, "For Reports" or "NJ v2-1--2026 Reports"). - Domain or website: The domain the project was tracking (for example, cortesandhay.com). - Approximate creation date: When you set up the project or when you last saw it active. - Number of keywords tracked: If you remember roughly how many keywords were in the project. - Date range of historical data: For example, "ranking history from December 2025 to April 2026." - Why the project matters: Note if the data is used for client reports or contains a long history that would be difficult to recreate. The more context you provide, the faster the engineering team can locate the correct project in the database. โš ๏ธ Important: Not All Projects Can Be Restored In some cases, engineering is able to locate and reactivate a deactivated project along with its full keyword and ranking history. However, restoration is not always possible for every project. In a recent case, one primary project with over 260 keywords and months of historical data was successfully restored, while two secondary projects in the same account could not be recovered. The support team will always attempt restoration and will be transparent about what is and is not possible. โœ… How to Verify Your Plan Features Are Active If you recently upgraded your plan โ€” for example, to access LLM tracking or additional Rank Tracker capacity โ€” and you are unsure whether the new features are active, check the following: - Review your current plan details from the top-right avatar โ†’ Billing (Plans & Top-ups) to confirm the upgrade was processed. - Look for the features associated with your new plan inside the Rank Tracker and any other relevant tools. - If the billing shows the upgraded plan but the features appear unavailable, this may be a display issue rather than an access issue โ€” a support agent can verify feature access on the backend. In confirmed cases, plan feature access has been verified as active even when billing appeared inconsistent on screen. If you are uncertain, contact support and ask them to confirm your feature access directly. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Steps to Request a Project Restoration 1. Collect all the project information listed in the section above. 2. Open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team. 3. Share the project name, domain, approximate date range, and the reason the data is critical (for example, client reporting or long-term historical tracking). 4. The agent will escalate your request to the engineering team for investigation. 5. Engineering will attempt to locate the deactivated project by its internal ID and restore it to your account. 6. You will be notified once the restoration is complete or if the project cannot be recovered. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Prevent This in the Future - Export your ranking data regularly, especially for projects used in client reports. This gives you a local backup of historical data. - Note the names and approximate keyword counts of your most important projects so you can describe them accurately if support is needed. - If you notice a project disappearing, contact support promptly โ€” the sooner a deactivated project is flagged, the better the chance of recovery. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need Help? ๐Ÿ”— Fix www vs Non-www GSC Data Discrepancies

๐Ÿค” Why This Happens Google Search Console treats https://seniorcarehomes.com and https://www.seniorcarehomes.com as two completely separate properties, each with its own independent dataset. If your website canonically serves traffic on the non-www version but your Search Atlas project is pulling data from the www property, you will see a mismatch: one property shows hundreds of keywords while the other shows zero. This is not a bug. It reflects exactly how Google stores data. The fix is to ensure Search Atlas is connected to the GSC property that actually holds your traffic and indexed pages. ๐Ÿ” Step 1 โ€” Identify Your Primary GSC Property Before changing anything in Search Atlas, confirm which property contains your real data inside Google Search Console. 1. Go to Google Search Console (search.google.com/search-console). 2. Open the property selector in the top-left corner. 3. Compare the Total clicks and Total impressions for both the www and non-www versions over the last 90 days. 4. The property with higher numbers is your primary property โ€” note its exact URL format. In most cases the non-www version (e.g. https://seniorcarehomes.com) is the canonical source when a 301 redirect from www to non-www is in place. โš™๏ธ Step 2 โ€” Make Sure the Correct GSC Property Is Connected in Search Atlas Search Atlas can only pull data from a GSC property that is already verified in your Google Search Console account and connected to your Search Atlas workspace. Because the exact steps for reconnecting or reassigning a GSC property depend on your account configuration, please have the following information ready before reaching out: - The exact URL of your primary GSC property (e.g. https://seniorcarehomes.com vs https://www.seniorcarehomes.com). - The name of the Search Atlas project that is showing 0 keywords. - A screenshot or note of the Total clicks/impressions figures from both properties in GSC. - Whether both the www and non-www versions are verified in your Google Search Console account. If the correct property is not yet verified in Google Search Console, verify it there first โ€” Search Atlas can only surface properties that are already confirmed in your GSC account. ๐ŸŽฏ Step 3 โ€” Escalate to the Support Team Once you have confirmed which GSC property holds your real data and have the details listed above ready, contact the support team. A teammate will identify which property is currently assigned to your project and reassign it to the correct one so your keyword data populates accurately. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

โš ๏ธ Keyword Explorer: Location Filter Not Applied to Average Monthly Searches

When you select a city or region in Keyword Explorer, the Average Monthly Searches card always displays worldwide search volume โ€” the location filter is not currently being applied to the metrics. Our engineering team has identified the root cause and a fix is ready and awaiting release. ๐Ÿ” What's Happening The location selector in Keyword Explorer responds visually โ€” the correct flag and location name appear in the search bar after you choose a location. However, that selection does not affect the data shown in the Average Monthly Searches card on the keyword details page. - The Average Monthly Searches card always displays Location: worldwide and returns global search volume figures, regardless of which location you select. - Any keyword search scoped to a specific city or region โ€” for example, Saginaw, Michigan โ€” is affected. - The location name and flag shown in the search bar are correct; only the underlying metrics are not scoped to that location. ๐Ÿ“Œ Related Known Issue: Average Monthly Searches vs. Global Search Volume Discrepancy Some users have reported that the Average Monthly Searches metric and Global Search Volume metric display different values for the same keyword. This discrepancy is a separate known issue that our engineering team is also working to resolve. If you encounter both the location filter issue and conflicting metric values, rest assured both problems are being actively addressed. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Current Workaround No workaround is available at this time. The location selection has no effect on the Average Monthly Searches figures regardless of how the location is entered or which location is chosen. We apologize for the disruption to your keyword research workflow. ๐Ÿ“ก Engineering Status Our engineering team has identified the root cause of this issue. A fix is ready and awaiting release. We will update this article as soon as the fix is deployed โ€” no action is required on your end. ๐Ÿ“ž When to Contact Support If you need localized search volume data urgently โ€” for example, for a time-sensitive client deliverable โ€” contact Search Atlas support via the Help Center support widget and include the following details so our team can assist you. We typically respond to support inquiries within 24 business hours: - The keyword you were researching - The city or region you selected in Keyword Explorer - A brief description of your use case or deadline ๐ŸŒ€ Accurate local search volume is critical to keyword research, and we take this issue seriously โ€” our team is actively working to restore the location filter and will update this article the moment the fix is live. Thank you for your patience.

๐Ÿ” Diagnosing Ranking Drops After Business Pivots

๐Ÿงญ Overview When a business expands its services โ€” for example, a salon that adds a head spa โ€” the website's keyword targeting, content structure, and internal linking often need to change too. If those changes are not managed carefully, Google Search Console (GSC) rankings can drop sharply. This article walks you through a structured process to diagnose what went wrong and build a recovery plan using Search Atlas. โš ๏ธ Why Business Pivots Cause Ranking Drops A service expansion is not just a business change โ€” it is an SEO event. When new services are added, several things can go wrong at once: - Keyword dilution: New service pages compete with existing pages for similar terms, splitting authority and confusing search engines about which page to rank. - Topical authority gaps: Google evaluates a site's expertise by topic. Adding a new service category without supporting content signals weak authority in that area. - Internal linking misalignment: Links that once pointed clearly to core service pages now split between old and new pages, reducing the ranking power of both. - Content cannibalisation: If the original service page was updated to include the new service instead of creating a dedicated page, the page may now rank for neither topic effectively. These issues often compound each other, which is why ranking drops after a pivot can appear sudden and severe even when the changes seemed minor. ๐Ÿ”Ž Step 1 โ€” Identify the Affected Keywords Before you can fix the drop, you need to know exactly which keywords lost rankings and when. 1. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker. 2. Filter the keyword list by the client's domain and set the date range to cover at least 90 days before and after the pivot date (in this case, early June). 3. Sort by Position Change to surface the largest drops first. 4. Tag keywords into two groups: original service keywords (e.g. salon-related) and new service keywords (e.g. head spa-related). This separation is critical for diagnosis. 5. Export the list for reference in later steps. Look for a pattern: if original service keywords dropped at roughly the same time new service keywords were added to the site, you are likely dealing with dilution or cannibalisation rather than an algorithm issue. ๐Ÿ•ณ๏ธ Step 2 โ€” Check for Keyword Gaps and Cannibalisation 1. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Gap. 2. Compare the client's domain against one or two competitors who already offer both services successfully. 3. Identify keywords where competitors rank but the client does not. These are likely the topical authority gaps created by the pivot. 4. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic and search for the new service category (e.g. "head spa"). Review search volume and keyword difficulty for terms the client should be targeting but currently lacks dedicated content for. If you find that a single page is being used to target both the original and new service, that is a strong cannibalisation signal. The fix is to create a separate, dedicated page for the new service with its own targeted keyword set. ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Step 3 โ€” Audit the Content and Internal Linking Structure A business pivot requires a deliberate content architecture update. Work through the following checks: - Dedicated pages: Does each service now have its own standalone page with a unique primary keyword, title tag, and meta description? If not, create them. - Pillar and cluster structure: Is there a clear parent page (e.g. "Our Services") that links to each individual service page? Flat structures without hierarchy lose topical authority signals. - Internal links updated: Do blog posts, location pages, and the homepage link to the new service page? New pages with no internal links receive minimal crawl priority and rank poorly. - Anchor text relevance: Are internal links using keyword-relevant anchor text for each destination page, rather than generic phrases like "click here" or "learn more"? ๐Ÿ“ Step 4 โ€” Review Local Signals if Applicable For local businesses, service expansions must also be reflected in local SEO signals. Inconsistent local data amplifies ranking drops. 1. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ GBP Projects โ†’ Overview to review the client's local profile health at a glance. 2. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Local โ†’ Local Citations and check that the new service is reflected in business category listings and description fields across citation sources. 3. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Local โ†’ Posts (GBP Posts) and schedule Google Business Profile posts that explicitly mention the new service. Fresh posts signal relevance to Google for the expanded category. If the business's GBP category still only reflects the original service, update it to include the expanded offering. This is often an overlooked factor in local rank drops after pivots. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step 5 โ€” Build the Recovery Plan Once the diagnosis is complete, prioritise fixes in this order: 1. Resolve cannibalisation first โ€” separate conflated pages before doing anything else, or further optimisation efforts will be undermined. 2. Create missing service pages โ€” use the Keyword Magic research from Step 2 to build pages with clearly defined primary and secondary keywords. 3. Update internal linking โ€” add contextual links from high-traffic existing pages to the new service pages. 4. Build topical support content โ€” publish two to four supporting articles or FAQs around the new service to establish topical authority signals. 5. Update local citations and GBP โ€” ensure all local data reflects the full, expanded service offering. Track keyword position changes weekly in Rank Tracker after each change is deployed. Recovery from a structural pivot issue typically takes four to ten weeks depending on crawl frequency and content volume. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need Help? Rank Tracker โ€” How Tracked Page Depth Affects Your Keyword Quota

Tracking deeper result pages (Top 50 or Top 100) uses more quota per keyword than Top 10 or Top 20 โ€” here's how the math works and how to change it. Why is my Rank Tracker quota being used up faster than expected? Your Rank Tracker quota is charged per keyword per tracked position depth, not just per keyword. Each project has a Keyword Tracking Page Depth setting that controls how many result pages are checked for every keyword. Tracking deeper pages costs more quota for the same keyword. How is quota calculated? Quota usage scales with the page depth you choose. Each result page covers 10 ranking positions, so tracking more pages per keyword multiplies the quota cost for that keyword: - Top 10 results (Page 1): 1x quota per keyword - Top 20 results (Page 2): 2x quota per keyword - Top 50 results (Page 5): 5x quota per keyword - Top 100 results (Page 10): 10x quota per keyword This means a project with 500 keywords set to Top 100 uses the same quota as a project with 5,000 keywords set to Top 10. If your quota is draining faster than usual and your keyword count hasn't changed, a high page depth setting is the most common cause. Where do I check or change the page depth for a project? 1. Open the Rank Tracker project and click the gear icon to edit its settings (the same field also appears when creating a new project). 2. Look for the Keyword Tracking Page Depth field. You'll see: Top 10 results (Page 1), Top 20 results (Page 2), Top 50 results (Page 5), Top 100 results (Page 10), or Custom. 3. The field includes a note directly beneath it: quota usage depends on the selected refresh interval and tracked page depth, and tracking more result pages per keyword consumes more quota. 4. Choose a lower depth to reduce quota consumption, or a higher depth if you need visibility into deeper rankings. New projects default to Top 20 results (Page 2), which balances visibility with quota efficiency for most use cases. What happens to keywords that rank outside my tracked depth? If a keyword's actual ranking position is deeper than your selected depth, it shows as NR (Not Ranked) instead of its real position. For example, if a project is set to Top 20 and a keyword actually ranks at position 35, it will display as NR rather than 35 โ€” the Rank Tracker only checks as far as the depth you've selected. Reducing your page depth is a real tradeoff: you save quota, but you lose visibility into any keyword ranking beyond that depth. Choose Top 50 or Top 100 only if you specifically need to track long-tail or deeper-ranking keywords. Which depth setting should I use? If you mainly track top rankings and movement near the first couple of pages, Top 10 or Top 20 is usually enough and keeps quota usage efficient. If you need visibility into deeper long-tail positions (11โ€“100), Top 50 or Top 100 is worth the extra quota cost โ€” but it's a deliberate choice you should make with the quota impact in mind, not a default to leave unchecked on a large keyword list. If you're unsure which depth is right for your account or want help estimating quota impact before changing a large project, reach out to us through live chat and we can help you review it.

๐Ÿ” Site Explorer Keyword Data Showing Outdated Dates

๐Ÿงญ Overview Some users noticed that keyword data in Site Explorer was only displaying results through February 2024, regardless of which date range they selected. The date filter was also not updating data across the Keywords, Pages, and Competitors sections. This was a confirmed platform bug that has since been investigated and resolved by the Search Atlas engineering team. ๐Ÿ› What Was Happening The issue affected how Site Explorer retrieved and displayed keyword data. Specifically: - Keyword data appeared frozen at February 2024 even after a recrawl. - The date range selector was missing recent months and only started from January 2024. - Changing the date filter had no visible effect on data shown in the Keywords, Pages, and Competitors sections. This was not a problem with individual accounts or settings โ€” it was a backend data persistence issue that was escalated, logged, and fixed by our engineering team. โœ… Current Status: Resolved The fix has been deployed to production. Site Explorer keyword data should now reflect current date ranges and update correctly when you apply a date filter. If your data appears up to date, no further action is needed on your end. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Steps to Take If You Still See Outdated Data If you are still experiencing outdated keyword data in Site Explorer after this fix was released, follow these steps: 1. Hard-refresh your browser. Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to clear cached data and reload the page. 2. Check the date range selector. Open Site Explorer for the domain you are analyzing and confirm that the date range selector now includes recent months beyond February 2024. 3. Apply a current date range. Select a recent date range and verify that the keyword data in the Keywords, Pages, and Competitors sections updates accordingly. 4. Confirm the issue is platform-wide, not project-specific. Open two or three different projects in Site Explorer and compare last-updated dates. If only one project appears outdated, try removing and re-adding that domain. Important: avoid deleting projects or altering tracking settings during an outage, as this may cause loss of historical data. 5. Try a different browser or incognito window. This rules out any local caching or browser extension conflicts. 6. Test with a different domain. Analyze a second domain to confirm whether the issue is isolated to one specific site or affects Site Explorer broadly. 7. Check that any active scan has fully completed. Results will not update until a Scan reaches 100% โ€” confirm completion before checking metrics. If data is still missing after all steps, initiate another Scan and monitor over the next few hours. ๐Ÿ“‹ What to Share When Contacting Support If the steps above do not resolve the issue, having the following information ready will help our team investigate faster: - The domain name you are analyzing in Site Explorer. - A description of what date ranges appear available in the selector. - A screenshot showing the outdated data or missing date options. - Whether the issue affects one project or multiple projects in Site Explorer. - The browser and operating system you are using. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Need Help? ๐Ÿ” Keyword Magic Credits Wrongly Deducted on Failures

๐Ÿงญ Overview Some users experienced two related credit deduction issues with the Keyword Magic tool: credits being consumed when a search spun indefinitely and failed to return results, and additional credits being charged each time a previously completed report was reopened from history. Both issues were caused by a bug in how the platform triggered quota consumption, and a confirmed engineering fix has been deployed. โš ๏ธ Symptoms to Watch For - The Keyword Magic tool loads indefinitely and never returns results, yet credits are still deducted. - Revisiting a previously completed report in Keyword Research causes additional credits to be charged, even though the search was already paid for. - Your available Keyword Lookups drop faster than expected without completing new searches. โœ… Current Status The underlying bug โ€” logged internally as Keywords review trigger quota consumption โ€” has been fully resolved. The fix was reviewed and deployed by the engineering team. If you are visiting this article after the fix was released, new searches and history views should no longer trigger unexpected credit deductions. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What To Do If You Are Still Affected 1. Verify your current credit balance. Check your billing or account usage section to review recent credit usage and identify any unexpected deductions tied to failed searches or history views. 2. Check whether the issue is ongoing. Run a test search in the Keyword Magic tool and confirm whether credits are deducted correctly only for successful, new searches. 3. Review your history without running new searches. Open a previously completed report in Keyword Research and confirm that revisiting it no longer deducts credits. 4. If credits were wrongly deducted before the fix was deployed, contact our support team to request a quota reset. Reach out via the support channel available to you, and provide the approximate dates and times of the affected searches so the team can verify the deductions against your account activity and restore your credits. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Protect Your Credits While Using Keyword Magic - If a search spins for an unusually long time without returning results, avoid refreshing and re-submitting the same query until you have checked your credit usage โ€” duplicate submissions can compound the issue if a billing bug is present. - Regularly review your account's credit usage to catch unexpected changes early. - If your Keyword Lookup balance appears lower than expected, check your usage history before purchasing additional credits, and contact support if you suspect a deduction error.

๐Ÿ” Troubleshooting Invisible Keyword Data

This article helps you understand why keyword data may appear blank, missing, or inaccessible in your Search Atlas account. If you are unable to access or view keyword data, please reach out to our support team so we can investigate the specific state of your account and restore access. ๐Ÿ” Common Causes of Missing Keyword Data - No project is created or selected: Keyword data is always tied to a specific project. If no project exists or none is selected, the keywords section will appear empty. - The wrong project is active: Data from one project will not appear when viewing another. Confirm you are inside the correct project before investigating further. - Keywords have not been added yet: A project with no tracked keywords will show a blank state. Keywords must be explicitly added to a project before data populates. - A plan change or billing event affected visibility: A recent plan change, downgrade, or renewal can temporarily affect data visibility. - Browser or cache issue: A stale session can prevent data from loading correctly even when everything on the backend is intact. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Steps to Try 1. Confirm a project exists. Open your project settings and verify that at least one project has been created. If no projects appear, create a new project from your account. 2. Select the correct project. Make sure the project whose keyword data you want to view is the currently active project. Switch projects if needed before proceeding. 3. Check that keywords have been added. Navigate to your Keywords section and verify that tracked keywords are listed. If the list is empty, add your target keywords manually or via import. 4. Clear your browser cache and log back in. Sign out of Search Atlas, clear your browser cache and cookies, then sign back in. This resolves stale-session issues that can mask data that is otherwise available. โœ… When to Contact Support If you have verified the steps above and keyword data is still missing or inaccessible, our support team will need to review your account directly. When you reach out, please have the following ready: your project name, a description of what you are seeing (or not seeing), and any relevant account or billing context. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“ Fix Keyword-Level Heatmap Pin Wrong Location

๐Ÿ” What Is This Issue? For service-area businesses (SABs), the heatmap pin may appear correctly at the project level but shift significantly โ€” sometimes 250โ€“375 miles off โ€” when you open a heatmap at the keyword level. This causes heatmap results to reflect the wrong geographic area, producing inaccurate local ranking data. This was a confirmed platform bug affecting how the pin center was assigned at the keyword level. An engineering fix has been deployed. However, if you generated heatmaps before the fix was applied, those results were built around the wrong location and may need to be regenerated. โš™๏ธ Why This Happened The root cause was an argument-order error in how the platform assigned the pin's latitude and longitude when creating heatmaps at the keyword level for SABs. As a result, the map center was calculated incorrectly even when the pin looked correct on the project overview. Engineering resolved this and the fix is now live. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What to Do If You Were Affected Because previously generated heatmaps were built around the wrong location, those results reflect inaccurate geographic data. If you believe your heatmaps were generated before the engineering fix was applied and are showing results for the wrong area, please reach out to our support team so they can review your account, confirm whether you were affected, and advise on next steps including any heatmap regeneration. When contacting support, have the following ready to help the team verify your case quickly: - The name of the affected heatmap project - The specific keywords or keyword-level heatmaps showing the incorrect pin location - The approximate date(s) you generated the affected heatmaps - The correct location or service area the pin should have been centered on ๐Ÿ“Š What About Quota Used on Incorrect Heatmaps? If your heatmap quota was consumed running reports centered on the wrong location, our support team can review your case. In confirmed instances of this bug, the team has been able to work with affected customers on quota concerns. Providing the details listed above will help the team process your request as efficiently as possible. โœ… How to Confirm the Fix Is Working After any heatmaps are regenerated following the engineering fix, confirm the following: - The pin at the keyword level matches the location you set at the project level. - The heatmap grid is centered on your intended service area, not a distant city or region. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Heatmap Rankings and Multilingual SERPs in Lebanon

๐Ÿ” Overview If your heatmap shows a ranking of 20+ for a branded term in Lebanon โ€” even though your site reliably ranks #1 โ€” you are likely seeing the effect of multilingual SERP behavior specific to the Lebanese market. This article explains why this happens and what you can do about it. ๐ŸŒ How Google Handles Search Results in Lebanon Lebanon is a multilingual country where users commonly search in Arabic, French, and English โ€” sometimes mixing languages within a single query. Google's algorithm responds to this by dynamically adjusting which results it surfaces based on the detected language context of the search session. This means that when Search Atlas crawls Google to build your heatmap data, the simulated search environment may reflect a different language context than the one your real customers use. If Google interprets the crawl session as an Arabic or French query context, it may deprioritize English-language pages โ€” even well-optimized branded ones โ€” and push them significantly down the results page. ๐Ÿ“Š Why Your Heatmap Shows 20+ for a #1 Ranked Site There are two common reasons for this discrepancy: - Language context mismatch: The heatmap crawl uses a specific language and locale setting. If your target keyword is branded and primarily searched in English, but the crawl simulates a Lebanese Arabic or French session, Google may return a localized SERP that ranks your English page lower. - Localized SERP variation: Google frequently tests and serves different result sets across regions. In markets like Lebanon with high multilingual activity, SERP composition can vary significantly between sessions, making snapshot-based rankings appear inconsistent. This is not a bug in Search Atlas โ€” it accurately reflects the SERP Google returned for that specific language and location context at the time of the crawl. โš™๏ธ How to Improve Heatmap Accuracy for Lebanon Follow these steps to align your heatmap settings more closely with your actual audience's search behavior: 1. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords to review how your target keywords are configured. 2. Confirm the language setting for your tracked keywords matches the language your customers actually search in. For Lebanon, this is most commonly English, Arabic (ar), or French (fr). 3. If you track the same branded keyword across multiple languages, create separate keyword entries for each language-locale combination (for example, English/Lebanon and Arabic/Lebanon). This gives you a clearer picture of how your site ranks in each language context. 4. Navigate to Left sidebar โ†’ Local โ†’ Overview (GBP Profile Completion) to review your local presence settings and ensure your business profile is optimized for the correct target region and language. ๐Ÿ’ก Best Practices for Multilingual Markets - Do not rely on a single heatmap snapshot to judge performance in multilingual regions. Compare rankings across multiple crawl sessions to identify patterns. - If your site targets English-speaking users in Lebanon, ensure your Google Business Profile and on-page content clearly signal English as the primary language. - Consider adding hreflang tags to your site if you serve content in multiple languages. This helps Google correctly associate your pages with the right language-locale audience. - Use the Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords tool to monitor keyword performance separately per language so fluctuations in one language context do not mask strong performance in another. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What This Means for Your Reporting When presenting rankings data from Lebanon to stakeholders, always note the language context of each tracked keyword. A branded term ranking #1 in an English-language Lebanese SERP and ranking 20+ in an Arabic-language Lebanese SERP are two separate and valid data points โ€” not a contradiction. Search Atlas captures both accurately; the key is interpreting them with the correct context. ๐Ÿ†˜ Need Further Help? ๐Ÿ” Fix Google Search Console Keyword Optimization Issues

๐Ÿงญ Overview If the keyword optimization tool keeps prompting you to connect Google Search Console (GSC) even though you have already linked it, or if you are seeing zero suggestions, this guide walks you through the most common causes and how to fix them step by step. โš™๏ธ Step 1: Verify Your GSC Connection Is Active A GSC account can appear connected but still fail to pass data if permissions were revoked or the authorization expired. Follow these steps to confirm the connection is fully active: 1. In the left sidebar, navigate to Site Explorer. 2. Look for a Google Search Console status indicator or connection banner at the top of the page. 3. If you see a Reconnect or Reauthorize prompt, click it and complete the Google sign-in flow again. 4. Make sure you grant all requested permissions during the authorization screen โ€” partial permissions will cause the tool to behave as if GSC is not connected. ๐ŸŒ Step 2: Confirm the Correct Property Is Selected GSC connections are property-specific. If your GSC account contains multiple properties (for example, both https://example.com and http://www.example.com), the tool may be linked to a different property than the one you are optimizing. 1. Inside Site Explorer, check which domain or URL property is currently associated with your project. 2. Make sure the selected GSC property exactly matches the site you are working on, including the protocol (https:// vs http://) and subdomain (www vs non-www). 3. If they do not match, disconnect the current property and reconnect using the correct one. ๐Ÿ“Š Step 3: Understand Why You May See Zero Suggestions Even with a valid GSC connection, zero keyword optimization suggestions can appear for a few reasons: - New website or property: GSC requires at least a few weeks of crawl and impression data before meaningful suggestions can be generated. If your site was recently added to GSC, wait until data accumulates. - Low search traffic: If your pages receive very few impressions in Google Search, there may not be enough ranking signal data to surface suggestions. - GSC data delay: Google typically delays performance data by 2โ€“3 days. Suggestions are based on this data, so a very recent connection may not reflect current activity yet. - Unverified GSC property: If the property is not fully verified inside Google Search Console itself, data will not flow through. Log in to search.google.com/search-console directly to confirm verification status. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step 4: Reconnect and Refresh Your Data If the above checks did not resolve the issue, a clean reconnection often fixes persistent authorization problems: 1. Disconnect your current GSC account from within Search Atlas. 2. Clear your browser cache and cookies, or try a different browser to rule out session conflicts. 3. Reconnect GSC by following the on-screen prompts in Site Explorer; all verified properties on the Google account will be imported automatically. 4. Wait up to 24 hours for suggestion data to populate after a fresh connection. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips for Getting the Best Keyword Suggestions - Use the Rank Tracker (left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker) to add and monitor target keywords โ€” this enriches the data available for suggestions. - Explore the Keyword Gap tool (left sidebar โ†’ Site Explorer โ†’ Keyword Gap) to find opportunities your competitors rank for but you do not yet. - The more pages you have indexed and the more search impressions your site earns, the richer and more actionable your keyword optimization suggestions will become over time. ๐Ÿ†˜ Still Seeing the Issue? If you have followed all the steps above and the keyword optimization tool still shows a GSC connection error or zero suggestions, our team can investigate your account directly. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ”„ Rank Tracker Keywords Stuck Loading Indefinitely

What This Issue Looks Like In some cases, keywords in the Rank Tracker can become stuck in a loading or pending state and never display updated rankings. This is a known processing issue that has been investigated and resolved by the Search Atlas engineering team. If you are experiencing this, your data has not been lost โ€” the underlying rankings data remains intact, and the issue is limited to how results are fetched and displayed. Known Cause This issue occurs when keyword processing gets stuck, leaving keywords in a permanent pending state. Affected keywords stop updating and the interface continues to show a loading indicator without resolving. This has been identified and addressed by the engineering team, but individual projects may occasionally require a manual reprocessing trigger to clear the stuck state. What You Should Do 1. Wait a short time after first noticing the issue. Brief delays in keyword processing are normal, especially for large projects or during peak usage periods. 2. Refresh your browser and navigate back to the Rank Tracker to check whether the loading state has resolved on its own. 3. Check whether the issue affects all projects or just one. If only a specific project is stuck, note the project name โ€” this will help the support team locate and reprocess it quickly. 4. If keywords remain stuck and a browser refresh does not resolve the issue, contact our support team using the instructions below. A member of the team can manually reprocess your project and confirm when it is displaying correctly. Is My Data Still Accurate? Yes. A stuck loading state does not mean your ranking data is corrupted or lost. The issue affects how results are surfaced in the interface, not the underlying data that has already been collected. Once the stuck state is cleared โ€” either automatically or by our team โ€” your keywords will display correctly and reflect accurate ranking information. How Our Team Resolves This When this issue is escalated, our support team manually reprocesses the affected project. In confirmed cases, this has fully resolved the loading issue and restored correct data display. Tips to Avoid Confusion - If you are running reports while keywords appear stuck, treat those reports as provisional until the loading state is resolved. - Large projects with many tracked keywords may take longer to refresh โ€” this is expected and differs from the stuck-state issue described here. - If you notice the issue recurring on the same project, mention this when contacting support so the team can investigate whether something specific to that project may be contributing to repeated delays. If your keywords remain stuck after refreshing your browser, please reach out to our support team and we will be happy to help.

๐Ÿ“Š Fix Rank Tracker Search Volume and Ranking Issues

๐Ÿ” Overview Customers sometimes notice discrepancies in the Rank Tracker tool โ€” most commonly, keywords showing zero search volume when the same keyword has valid volume in the Keyword Research Tool, or rankings appearing as NR (Not Ranked) despite the site clearly appearing in search results. These issues are typically caused by known data-sync limitations, and most have already been resolved through platform updates. This article explains what causes each issue and what steps you can take. ๐Ÿ“ How to Navigate to Rank Tracker To access Rank Tracker, go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). Make sure you have an active Rank Tracker project set up for the domain you want to monitor. ๐Ÿ“‰ Why Keywords Show Zero Search Volume If a keyword in your Rank Tracker project shows 0 search volume but displays valid volume in the Keyword Research Tool, this is caused by a data mismatch between two separate data pipelines โ€” the keyword database used by the Keyword Research Tool and the data layer powering Rank Tracker. This specific issue has been resolved in a recent platform update. However, if you are still seeing zero search volume for certain keywords, try the following steps: 1. Refresh your browser and reload the Rank Tracker project. 2. Check the same keyword in Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic to confirm the volume is present in the keyword database. 3. Remove the affected keyword from your Rank Tracker project and re-add it. This forces a fresh data pull. 4. Wait 24โ€“48 hours, as search volume data refreshes on a scheduled cycle and may not update instantly after re-adding a keyword. If volume remains at zero after following these steps, it is worth escalating so our team can investigate the specific keyword and locale combination. โŒ Why Rankings Show NR (Not Ranked) An NR status means Rank Tracker was unable to find your domain within the tracked positions (typically the top 100 results) for that keyword at the time of the last crawl. In some cases, this can be inaccurate โ€” your site may genuinely be ranking but the crawl returned an incorrect result. This type of inconsistency was identified as a known issue and has been fixed. If you are still seeing unexpected NR results, try these steps: 1. Manually search the keyword in Google using an incognito window and verify whether your site appears. 2. Check that the search engine, country, and language settings in your Rank Tracker project match the search you are manually verifying. 3. Trigger a manual rank refresh if that option is available in your project settings. 4. Allow up to 24 hours for rankings to update, as crawls do not run in real time. โš ๏ธ Other Known Display Issues There are a few additional display behaviours in Rank Tracker that you should be aware of: - Summary card data going stale: The summary card at the top of your Rank Tracker project can sometimes display data that is more than 13 days old. The change arrows shown may reflect a total value rather than the expected delta (change since last period). A fix for this is currently awaiting release. - Project totals not matching movement breakdowns: The total keyword count shown at the project level may not always match the numbers shown in the Movements section. This can also be caused by a scroll-rendering issue that silently drops keyword rows from view. Scrolling back up and then down again, or refreshing the page, usually restores the missing rows. - Inconsistent ranking data across sessions: Occasional ranking inconsistencies across page reloads have been investigated and resolved. If you notice rankings changing significantly between refreshes without a clear reason, please report it using the chat widget. โœ… Best Practices for Accurate Rank Tracking - Always verify your project's target country and search engine settings match the market you are optimising for. - Cross-reference rankings with a manual incognito search before assuming a data error. - Use Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic to confirm search volume data is available for a keyword before adding it to Rank Tracker. - Allow at least 24โ€“48 hours after adding new keywords before drawing conclusions from the data. - Refresh your browser or clear your cache if the UI appears to be showing stale or incomplete data. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Seeing an Issue? If you have followed the steps above and are still experiencing zero search volume, incorrect NR rankings, or any other unexpected behaviour in Rank Tracker, our team is ready to help. ๐Ÿ” Fix Zero Organic Keywords and Traffic Data

Overview If Search Atlas is showing zero organic keywords or traffic for your website โ€” even though you can confirm organic visits in another tool โ€” the most common cause is a missing Google Search Console (GSC) connection. Search Atlas relies on GSC as its primary data source for organic keyword and traffic metrics. Without this connection, no data can be displayed, regardless of how much organic traffic your site actually receives. This article explains the GSC prerequisite and what to do if your organic data is not showing. Why Google Search Console Is Required Search Atlas pulls organic keyword impressions, clicks, average position, and traffic data directly from Google Search Console via a secure integration. This is not optional โ€” it is the foundation of organic reporting inside the platform. If GSC is not connected, Search Atlas has no data source to display, and all organic metrics will appear as zero or empty. Other tools you may use (such as Google Analytics or third-party rank trackers) operate independently and will continue to show data even without a GSC connection in Search Atlas. Step 1 โ€” Verify Whether GSC Is Connected to Your Project Log in to your Search Atlas account and navigate to the project or website showing zero organic data. Check whether Google Search Console has been connected as a data source for that project. If it has not been connected, you will need to complete the GSC integration before any organic keyword or traffic data can appear. If GSC appears connected but data is still missing, proceed to Step 2. Step 2 โ€” Connect Google Search Console To connect GSC, navigate to Site Metrics โ†’ Site Explorer โ†’ 'Open Google Search Console' โ†’ Manage Sites page, then click the 'Connect GSC Account' button and follow the on-screen prompts to authorise access using the Google account that has access to the GSC property for your website. Important: The Google account you use must have sufficient access to the correct GSC property for your website. If you are not the property owner or do not have the required access level, ask your site administrator to grant you access before completing this step. Step 3 โ€” Allow Time for Data to Populate After a successful GSC connection, organic keyword and traffic data may not appear immediately. Allow some time for Search Atlas to pull and display your GSC data. If data has not appeared after a reasonable period following a confirmed successful connection, escalate to the support team. When to Contact Support If you are unable to locate the GSC connection option under Avatar โ†’ Settings โ†’ Integrations (CMS Connectors), or if data remains missing after connecting GSC and waiting for it to populate, please reach out to our team. When doing so, have the following ready to help us investigate quickly: - The name of the project or website showing zero data - Confirmation of whethe If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“Š Keyword Rank Tracker Quota Exhaustion Troubleshooting Guide

๐Ÿ” Overview Some customers have reported that their Keyword Rank Tracker quota reaches its limit within the first few days of a new billing cycle, even when the number of tracked keywords and client projects has not changed significantly. This article explains the known causes of this issue, what has been fixed, and how to investigate if you are still affected. โš ๏ธ Known Causes of Early Quota Exhaustion Our engineering team identified and resolved several root causes behind unexpected quota depletion in the Rank Tracker. Understanding these will help you determine whether your account was affected: - Stale cached keyword counters: The system was using outdated cached counts of tracked keywords rather than live figures. This caused the platform to overestimate usage and exhaust your quota faster than your actual keyword volume warranted. - FAILURE-stuck projects inflating counts: Projects that became stuck in a FAILURE state were still being counted toward your total tracked keyword quota, even though they were not actively refreshing data. - Silent refresh failures: When quota was genuinely exhausted, SERP refreshes stopped silently with no notification. You may have seen a generic error message โ€” "Could not refresh SERPs at the moment" โ€” with no indication that quota was the cause. - False "out of quota" errors: In some cases, SERP refreshes were blocked by an incorrect quota check even when sufficient quota was actually available. โœ… What Has Been Fixed The following issues have been resolved by the engineering team: - Stale cached keyword counters are no longer used to calculate quota consumption โ€” the system now references accurate, live counts. - FAILURE-stuck projects no longer inflate your tracked keyword quota. - The generic error message when a SERP refresh fails due to quota exhaustion has been replaced with a clear, informative message explaining that your quota has been reached. - The false "out of quota" error that blocked refreshes despite available quota has been corrected. Note: A notification system to proactively alert you when your tracking quota is running low is currently in development and will be available in a future release. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Investigate Your Current Quota Usage If you are still experiencing early quota exhaustion after the fixes above, follow these steps to audit your Rank Tracker setup: 1. Navigate to the Rank Tracker section of the platform to view all of your active tracking projects. 2. Make sure all projects are fully loaded and visible โ€” do not rely on a partial view alone. 3. Review each project and look for any that appear stuck, inactive, or show an error status. These projects may still be contributing to your quota count. 4. If you identify problematic projects or cannot determine the cause of continued quota exhaustion, contact our support team with your project name, the exact error message you are seeing, and the approximate timestamp when the issue occurred. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Fix Missing Watchlisted Filter in Rank Tracker

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Root Cause The Watchlisted filter (Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker) โ†’ filter panel โ†’ Watchlisted: Yes) was restricted by an account gate that limited it to specific account types. This gate has been removed in a recent platform update (ticket KE-1491). โœ… Resolution Steps 1. Log out of your Search Atlas account completely. 2. Close the browser tab or window. 3. Open a new tab and log back in to Search Atlas. 4. Navigate to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). 5. Open the filter panel and confirm the Watchlisted: Yes option now appears. 6. Apply the filter to view your watchlisted keywords. ๐Ÿ“น Visual Guide A short video demonstrating the fix is available here: https://jam.dev/c/759cae2f ๐Ÿ”ง Related Improvements Additional updates have improved watchlist column alignment, visibility, and filter state persistence in Rank Tracker (ticket KE: [KRT] Watchlist Column โ€” Alignment, Visibility & Filter State Improvements). โš ๏ธ Known Limitations In the new Report Builder, the watchlist filter is present but there is currently no star or bookmark icon to add or remove items (ticket RB: WATCHLIST FILTER PRESENT BUT NO STAR/BOOKMARK ICON TO ADD OR REMOVE ITEMS). ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need Help? ๐Ÿ“Š Keyword Rank Tracker Position Limits Explained

๐Ÿ” Overview If you are on the Starter plan and notice that keyword rankings beyond a certain position are not displayed in the Rank Tracker, this is expected behaviour โ€” not a bug. This article explains why the limit exists, what it means for your data, and how to access deeper ranking data if you need it. ๐Ÿ“ Where to Find the Rank Tracker You can access the Rank Tracker from the main navigation within your Search Atlas account. This is where all tracked keyword positions for your connected domains are displayed. โš™๏ธ Why Some Rankings Are Not Shown The Starter plan includes a position tracking limit. This means: - Keywords ranking within the tracked position range are fully displayed. - Keywords ranking below that threshold are detected but their exact position is not shown in the Rank Tracker interface. - This is a plan-level feature restriction, not a technical error or data gap. This limit exists because tracking deeper ranking positions requires significantly more data processing resources, which is allocated to higher-tier plans. โ“ Is This a Bug That Will Be Fixed? No. The position cap on the Starter plan is a deliberate product limitation, not a defect. There is no upcoming fix because the behaviour is working as designed for this plan tier. ๐Ÿš€ How to Access Rankings Beyond the Limit If tracking keywords ranked beyond the Starter plan position limit is important to your SEO workflow, you have the following options: 1. Upgrade your plan โ€” Higher-tier plans remove the position cap and allow you to track rankings across all positions. Visit your account settings or billing page to compare plans and upgrade. 2. Prioritise your tracked keywords โ€” On the Starter plan, focus your Rank Tracker on keywords most likely to appear within the tracked range. Research and identify high-potential keywords before adding them to tracking. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips for Getting the Most From the Starter Plan - Track your most strategically important keywords โ€” ones you are actively optimising or that drive the most traffic potential. - Regularly review your tracked keyword list and remove keywords that are unlikely to break into the trackable range in the near term, freeing up your tracking slots for higher-priority targets. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team. Additional Notes Contact our support team. If you are unsure which plan is right for your needs or want to confirm exactly which position range your current plan covers, our team can help. ๐Ÿ” Google Search Console Connected but Keyword Tool Shows Required Error

๐Ÿงญ Overview If the keyword optimization tool displays a "Google Search Console is required" error even though your GSC account appears connected, the issue may relate to how the connection was established, a sync delay, or a permission gap in your GSC account. Because the specific steps to resolve this depend on your account configuration, our support team will need to review your setup directly. ๐Ÿ“‹ What to Prepare Before Contacting Support To help our team diagnose and resolve this as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready when you reach out: - Your project name in Search Atlas and the domain it is associated with. - The exact error message displayed in the keyword optimization tool (a screenshot is especially helpful). - When the error first appeared โ€” for example, whether it started immediately after connecting GSC, after a reconnection, or after a recent account change. - The Google account email you used to connect Google Search Console to Search Atlas. - Whether you manage multiple GSC properties under that Google account, and if so, which property you intended to use. โš ๏ธ Why This Requires Agent Review This type of error can stem from several backend factors โ€” including how Search Atlas validates the GSC connection, the permission level of the connected Google account, or a data sync issue on your specific account. There is no single self-serve fix that applies to all cases, and attempting to disconnect and reconnect GSC without guidance could extend any existing sync delay. Our support team can inspect your connection status directly and apply the correct resolution for your account. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Why Rank Tracker Shows NR Despite Real Rankings

๐Ÿงญ Overview If your Rank Tracker shows NR (Not Ranked) for a keyword but you can see your site ranking on Google manually, don't worry โ€” your rankings are real. This discrepancy is almost always caused by a mismatch between how the tracker is configured and how Google is serving results to you personally. This article explains the most common causes and how to resolve them. โš™๏ธ Why This Happens Rank Tracker checks your keyword positions using specific, standardised settings: a fixed location, device type, and search engine. When those settings don't match the conditions of your manual search, the results will differ. Here are the most frequent causes: - Personalised search results: Google tailors results based on your browsing history, Google account activity, and location. A manual search while logged into Google will often show your site higher than it actually ranks for an anonymous user. - Device mismatch: If you searched on mobile but the tracker is set to desktop (or vice versa), rankings can differ significantly. Google maintains separate rankings for desktop and mobile. - Location mismatch: Rank Tracker checks rankings from a specific geographic location. If you searched from a different city, region, or country, Google may have returned a different set of localised results. - Local Pack vs. organic results: You may have seen your business appear in the Google Local Pack (the map results), while Rank Tracker measures standard organic positions only. These are two different result types. - Search engine variant: Ensure the tracker is set to the correct Google domain (e.g., google.com vs. google.co.uk) that matches your target market. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Check and Fix Your Tracker Settings 1. Open Rank Tracker via the left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker). 2. Select the project that contains the affected keyword. 3. Review the tracking configuration for location, device type (desktop or mobile), and search engine. 4. Compare these settings against the conditions of your manual search. For example, if you searched on a mobile device in Sarasota, FL, confirm the tracker is set to mobile and Sarasota, Florida, United States. 5. If the settings don't match, update them to reflect your intended target audience โ€” the location and device your customers actually use to search. 6. After saving your changes, allow 24โ€“48 hours for the tracker to re-crawl and update positions. Rankings are not rechecked in real time. ๐Ÿ“‹ How to Perform a Fair Manual Comparison To get a result that matches what Rank Tracker sees, follow these steps when searching manually: - Open a browser in private or incognito mode to avoid personalised results. - Make sure you are not logged into a Google account. - Search from the same location, device type, and Google domain that the tracker is configured to use. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Keyword Explorer Loading Issues โ€” Root Causes and Solutions

Overview If the Keyword Explorer is not loading correctly, the most common first step is clearing your browser cache. While this can fix temporary glitches, it is not a permanent solution for every loading problem. This article explains what to try when the Keyword Explorer fails to load and when to reach out for further help. Why Cache Clearing Sometimes Works Your browser stores a local copy of website assets (scripts, styles, data) to speed up page loads. Over time, this cached data can become outdated or corrupted, especially after a platform update. In those cases, clearing your cache forces the browser to download a fresh version of the page โ€” and the issue goes away. This is normal, occasional maintenance. If clearing your cache once resolves the issue and it does not come back, no further action is needed. When Cache Clearing Is NOT Enough If you find yourself clearing your cache repeatedly just to use the Keyword Explorer, that is not normal. Frequent or persistent loading failures may point to a deeper issue that requires escalation. Troubleshooting Steps Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then log back in and attempt to use the Keyword Explorer again. This is the confirmed first step to resolve loading issues with this tool. When to Escalate If clearing your cache does not resolve the issue, the problem may require investigation by our support team. When you reach out, please have the following ready: - Your project name or account email - A description of exactly what happens when the Keyword Explorer fails to load (e.g. blank screen, spinning loader, partial load) - The browser and operating system you are using - Approximately when the issue started If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Keywords Missing From Current Month in Reports

๐Ÿงญ Overview Some users have reported that the current month does not appear as a selectable date option in their keyword project reports, or that the report displays zero keywords despite the project actively tracking hundreds of rankings. This was a confirmed platform bug (internal reference SE-955) that has since been resolved in production. ๐Ÿ” What This Issue Looks Like - The current month is missing from the date filter or month selector in your keyword project. - Your report shows zero keywords even though your project is tracking a significant number of rankings. - Keyword data appears to have stopped updating or refreshing as expected. โœ… What You Should Do Now 1. Refresh the page and navigate back to your keyword project report. 2. Check the date or month selector in your keyword report. The current month should now appear as a selectable option. 3. Select the current month and confirm that your tracked keywords are populating correctly. 4. If keywords are still not showing, wait a short time and refresh again, as data may still be completing its update cycle after the fix was deployed. ๐Ÿ“‹ Background on This Issue This problem affected multiple users and was caused by a bug in how the keyword reporting date range selector handled the current month. The issue prevented recent months from appearing in the filter and caused keyword data to appear missing even for active projects. Engineering confirmed the fix was deployed to production and verified as resolved. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ If the Problem Persists If you have followed the steps above and the current month is still not selectable, or your keyword data continues to show zero results, there may be a project-specific issue that requires investigation. If you need further assistance, please reach out to our support team directly so we can investigate your specific project.

๐Ÿ” Troubleshooting Missing Keyword Data Visibility

This article helps you resolve situations where your keyword data appears blank, missing, or completely invisible inside the platform โ€” even though your account is active and payment has been confirmed. This is not a billing issue; the steps below focus on common access and data-loading causes to check before escalating. ๐Ÿ“ Before You Escalate If you cannot see keyword data, work through the checks below in order. Because the exact cause can vary by account and configuration, these steps help you gather the information a support teammate will need to investigate further. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step-by-Step 1. Confirm you are in the correct project. Data is project-specific. Make sure the project you have open is the one you expect to contain keyword data. If you have multiple projects, switch between them to see whether the data appears in another project. 2. Check that a domain or keyword list has been added. Some keyword tools require you to add a domain or seed keywords before any data will appear. If the screen shows an empty state or a setup prompt, follow the on-screen instructions to add your target domain or keywords. 3. Check your active filters and date range. Filters or a narrow date range can cause data to appear missing. Reset any active filters to their defaults and widen the date range to confirm whether data exists. 4. Verify your plan includes access to the feature. Open your account or subscription settings and confirm that your current plan includes access to the keyword tool you are trying to use. 5. Hard-refresh the page. Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to clear cached data and force a full reload. 6. Try a different browser or incognito window. Browser extensions, cached sessions, or cookies can interfere with data rendering. Open the platform in a private or incognito window to rule this out. โœ… How to Confirm It Worked You will know keyword data is loading correctly when the relevant section displays a populated table or chart with keyword rows or volume figures rather than a blank or loading state. ๐Ÿ“‹ When to Contact Support If none of the steps above restore your keyword data, please have the following ready before reaching out so our team can investigate quickly: - The name of the project you are working in - The specific keyword tool or section where data is missing - A screenshot or screen recording of the blank or empty state - The approximate date and time you first noticed the issue - Any error messages displayed on screen If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team. Additional Notes Check team or seat permissions: If your account is part of a team workspace, ask your workspace admin to verify that your seat has access to keyword tools. Restricted roles may suppress data visibility without showing an explicit error.

๐Ÿ” Fix Keyword Magic Tool Spinning and Stalling

๐Ÿงญ Overview If the Keyword Magic Tool displays a spinning icon and never returns results after you enter a keyword, the issue is almost always caused by cached browser data interfering with the tool. No backend outage or rate-limiting error is involved. Follow the steps below in order โ€” most customers are unblocked after the first two steps. ๐Ÿ“ How to Reach the Keyword Magic Tool In the left sidebar, navigate to Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic. The tool opens in the main panel where you can enter a seed keyword and run a search. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step 1 โ€” Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies Stale cached data is the most common cause of stalled searches in the Keyword Magic Tool. Clear your cache and cookies, then try your search again. 1. Open your browser settings (usually found in the top-right menu). 2. Navigate to Privacy and Security โ†’ Clear Browsing Data (Chrome) or the equivalent in your browser. 3. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. 4. Set the time range to All time. 5. Click Clear data and wait for the process to finish. 6. Close and reopen the browser, then log back into Search Atlas. 7. Go to Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic and run your keyword search again. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Step 2 โ€” Retry in an Incognito or Private Window An incognito window loads the platform without any cached data, cookies, or browser extensions. This is the fastest way to confirm whether your browser environment is causing the stall. 1. Open a new incognito or private window: - Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + N (Mac). - Firefox / Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + P (Mac). 2. Go to app.searchatlas.com and log in. 3. Navigate to Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic and repeat your search. If the search loads correctly in incognito, the issue is confirmed to be browser-related. Completing Step 1 in your main browser should resolve it permanently. ๐Ÿ”Œ Step 3 โ€” Disable Browser Extensions Ad blockers, VPN extensions, and privacy tools can block requests made by the Keyword Magic Tool and cause it to stall silently. 1. Open your browser's extensions or add-ons manager. 2. Temporarily disable all extensions. 3. Reload Search Atlas and test the Keyword Magic Tool again. 4. If the search works, re-enable your extensions one at a time to identify which one is causing the conflict. ๐ŸŒ Step 4 โ€” Try a Different Browser If the tool still stalls after completing the steps above, open Search Atlas in a different browser entirely. Search Atlas is fully supported on the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Testing in an alternative browser helps confirm whether the issue is specific to your primary browser's configuration. โœ… Step 5 โ€” Confirm Your Search Input Before escalating, double-check the following in the Keyword Magic Tool: - Your seed keyword does not contain special characters or extra spaces. - You have selected a valid target country or language in the tool's filter settings. - You are not applying filter combinations that return zero results โ€” try clearing all filters and searching with just the seed keyword first. โ“ When to Contact Support If you have worked through all five steps above and the Keyword Magic Tool is still stalling with no error message, our support team will investigate further. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ”ง Fix 'Quota Exhausted' Despite Available Search Quota

What Is Happening? You may see a Quota Exhausted error when attempting to search for keywords, even though your account still shows remaining quota. This is a known issue that can occur when an account has been deactivated โ€” either accidentally or unexpectedly. When the account is in a deactivated state, the platform blocks quota usage entirely, making it appear as though all quota has been consumed when it has not. How to Check If Your Account Is Deactivated To confirm whether account deactivation is the cause of your issue, check the status of your account in your account settings. If your account has been deactivated, reactivating it should resolve the error. How to Reactivate Your Account If you find that your account is deactivated, locate the account status options within your account settings and reactivate the account from there. Once the account is reactivated, return to your keyword search and try again. In confirmed cases, reactivating the account immediately resolved the Quota Exhausted error and restored full access to remaining keyword search quota. Why Does This Happen? Account deactivation can sometimes occur accidentally โ€” for example, if a team member or admin unintentionally triggers the deactivation setting. When an account enters a deactivated state, the platform treats all quota as unavailable, which produces the misleading Quota Exhausted error even when quota remains. Reactivating the account restores normal quota behaviour. Still Seeing the Error After Reactivating? If you have reactivated the account but the Quota Exhausted error persists, the issue may require a manual review by our team. Please reach out to our support team for further assistance.

Exclude Local Pack Keywords From Rank Tracker Projects

Why Are Local Pack Keywords Appearing? When you create a Rank Tracker project and connect it to a Google Business Profile (GBP), Search Atlas automatically inherits the keyword set associated with that GBP. This includes: - Local pack keywords โ€” terms that trigger the map-based local results block in Google Search - Mobile keywords โ€” variants tracked specifically for mobile search engine results pages (SERPs) These keywords are pulled in automatically as part of the GBP connection and are intended to give you a complete local visibility picture. However, they count toward your rank tracking keyword quota, which can consume your allowance faster than expected if you only need standard organic rankings. Can I Remove These Keywords From an Existing Project? Unfortunately, no. Local pack and mobile keywords that are inherited through a GBP connection cannot be individually removed from an existing Rank Tracker project. The connection between the project and the GBP is set at the time of creation, and the inherited keywords are locked to that project configuration. The only way to stop tracking these keywords and reclaim your quota is to delete the existing project and recreate it without a GBP connection. How to Fix It: Delete and Recreate Without a GBP Connection The confirmed workaround is to delete the affected project and set up a new one while leaving the Google Business Profile field disconnected. Before deleting, make a note of the keywords you want to keep so you can re-add them to the new project. Step 1 โ€” Record the keywords you want to keep 1. Navigate to Rank Tracker and open the affected project. 2. Review your keyword list and note down (or otherwise save) the keywords you want to continue tracking, excluding any local pack or mobile keywords you do not need. Step 2 โ€” Delete the existing project 1. Inside the same Rank Tracker project, locate the project deletion option within the project's settings area. 2. Delete the project and confirm when prompted. 3. This will release all keywords from that project back to your available quota. Step 3 โ€” Create a new project without a GBP connection 1. In Rank Tracker, start creating a new project. 2. Enter your domain and configure your target location, device, and search engine settings as needed. 3. When prompted to connect a Google Business Profile, skip or leave this field blank. Do not connect a GBP if you want to avoid inheriting local pack and mobile keywords. 4. Add back the keywords you recorded in Step 1. 5. Save and launch the new project. Your project will now track only the keywords you selected, without inheriting local pack or mobile keywords from a GBP connection. ๐Ÿ” Organic Keywords Showing Zero: What To Do

๐Ÿ“‹ Overview Some users have reported that the organic keywords metric shows zero data for their domain inside Site Metrics, even when keyword data is known to exist. This is a recognised platform-side issue that Search Atlas engineers have investigated and resolved in the past. This article explains what causes it, how to confirm it, and what steps to take. ๐Ÿ”Ž What This Issue Looks Like - The organic keywords count displays as 0 in the Site Metrics area for a domain. - Keyword position distribution data (such as top rankings breakdowns) may also show zero values. - Related fields in the Keywords section โ€” including position, previous position, search intent, and URL โ€” may appear blank or missing. - In some cases, the overview area shows 0 organic keywords and 0 traffic, while the Keywords section correctly shows thousands of results. - Filters inside the Keywords section may behave inconsistently or fail to return expected results. โœ… How To Confirm the Problem Is Platform-Side 1. Navigate to the Site Metrics area and note the organic keywords figure shown for your domain. 2. Then check the Keywords section within Site Metrics and see whether keyword results appear there. 3. If the Keywords section returns data but the main Site Metrics view still shows zero, the discrepancy confirms a data display issue on Search Atlas's end โ€” not a problem with your domain or account settings. โณ What To Expect When this issue occurs, it is caused by a backend data processing problem, not by anything in your account configuration. You do not need to re-add your domain, change any settings, or re-run an analysis. Based on previous incidents, the engineering team is typically able to restore correct data within a few hours to 48 hours once the issue is identified and escalated. The recommended course of action is: 1. Wait a short period โ€” often a few hours โ€” and then revisit the Site Metrics area to check whether the organic keywords figure has updated. 2. If data remains at zero after 24โ€“48 hours, contact support so the issue can be escalated to the engineering team for review. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Steps To Take Right Now 1. Confirm the issue by comparing the Site Metrics overview and Keywords sections as described above. 2. Note your domain name and the date and time you first observed the zero value โ€” this information will help the support team escalate quickly if needed. 3. Check back after a few hours. In resolved past cases, data was restored without any action required from the user. 4. If the problem persists beyond 48 hours, reach out via the chat widget so the team can escalate to engineering with your specific domain details. ๐Ÿ’ก Additional Notes This issue has affected individual domains and does not typically indicate a problem wit

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Local Pack Tracking and GSC Branded Keyword Exclusion Fix

๐Ÿ” Overview Two related issues have been reported in Rank Tracker and the Google Search Console (GSC) integration: difficulty adding keywords to the Local Pack tab, and a bug preventing the branded keywords exclusion filter from working correctly when importing keywords from GSC Performance. This article explains what happened, what has been fixed, and what you can do right now. ๐Ÿ“ Local Pack Keyword Tracking Some users found that keywords tracked on the Local Pack surface were not appearing in the Rank Tracker keyword list, or that there was no clear way to designate a keyword for Local Pack tracking during the add-keyword flow. The following fixes have been completed and deployed to production: - A bug that caused the Rank Tracker keyword list to appear empty when keywords were tracked on the Local Pack surface has been resolved. - The keyword-add flow in Rank Tracker has been updated so you can now designate keywords for Local Pack tracking directly when adding them. If you previously added keywords intended for Local Pack tracking and they are missing, try re-adding them using the updated keyword-add flow. ๐Ÿšซ GSC Branded Keyword Exclusion Filter Bug Users importing keywords from the GSC Performance section reported that the branded keywords exclusion filter was not working โ€” branded terms were still appearing in results even after being added to the exclusion list. This bug was confirmed by our engineering team and a fix has been deployed to production. โœ… What You Should Do Now 1. Refresh your browser or log out and back in to ensure you are on the latest version of the platform. 2. Navigate to the GSC Performance section and re-apply your branded keyword exclusions. Because the filter was not excluding correctly before, you may need to re-enter your branded terms to confirm they are now being applied properly. 3. In Rank Tracker, use the updated keyword-add flow to add or re-add any keywords you want tracked in the Local Pack. 4. Review your tracked keyword list to confirm that Local Pack keywords are appearing as expected after the fixes. If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please reach out to our support team and we will be happy to help.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Why Topical Maps Suggests Zero-Volume Keywords

๐Ÿ” Overview Topical Maps and Keyword Research are two separate tools with different purposes. This difference explains why a keyword like Toilet Overflow Repair Near Me may appear as a suggestion in Topical Maps but show zero search volume when you look it up in Keyword Research. This article explains why that happens and how to use both tools together effectively. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ What Topical Maps Is Designed to Do Topical Maps is built to map topical authority, not search demand. Its goal is to identify every subtopic, angle, and question that is semantically relevant to your main topic โ€” giving search engines a signal that your site covers a subject comprehensively. To build these maps, the tool analyses semantic relationships between concepts, entities, and related themes. It surfaces keyword phrases and topic clusters based on topical relevance and coverage gaps, regardless of whether those phrases have measurable monthly search volume. This is intentional behaviour, not a bug. ๐Ÿ“Š What Keyword Research Is Designed to Do Keyword Research works differently. It pulls search volume data based on how frequently users search for a given phrase. A keyword only appears with volume if enough users have searched for that exact phrase within a recent measurement window. Zero volume in Keyword Research means one of the following: - The phrase is searched too infrequently to register in available search data. - The phrase uses a long-tail or hyper-local variation that is fragmented across many similar queries. - The phrase has not yet been captured in the available search data. Zero volume does not mean the keyword has no value or should never be targeted. โš ๏ธ Why the Two Tools Can Disagree Topical Maps recommends keywords to complete your topical coverage. A phrase like Toilet Overflow Repair Near Me is semantically important to the topic of toilet repair even if its exact-match search volume is zero. Search engines understand intent and entity relationships โ€” not just exact phrases. Writing content that covers that angle helps establish authority even when no volume data exists. Keyword Research, by contrast, reports measured historical demand. If a phrase has never been searched often enough to appear in the data, it will show zero โ€” even if it is conceptually important to your topic. This means a gap between the two tools is expected and normal. They answer different questions: - Topical Maps answers: What subtopics do I need to cover to be seen as an authority? - Keyword Research answers: How many people search for this exact phrase each month? Keyword Rank Tracker Quota & Reset Explained

Overview The Keyword Rank Tracker (KRT) assigns each tracked keyword a slot against your plan's quota. If you are experiencing unexpected quota behaviour โ€” such as quota not dropping after deletions, or tracking being blocked sooner than expected โ€” our team will need to investigate your account's backend state directly. Common Quota Scenarios Customers contacting support about KRT quota typically report one or more of the following: - Quota usage not decreasing after deleting keywords. - Uncertainty about when quota resets relative to their billing cycle. - New keywords being blocked from tracking despite believing slots are available. Because quota counters and keyword tracking states are managed at the backend level, the exact cause of any discrepancy can only be confirmed by the support team reviewing your account. What to Have Ready When Escalating To help the team resolve your quota issue as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready: - Your project name(s) where the quota issue is occurring. - The approximate number of keywords you deleted or added, and when. - A screenshot or description of the quota figure currently shown in your account. - Any error messages displayed when attempting to add or track new keywords. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Troubleshoot Stale MetaSync Keywords

๐Ÿ” Why deleted keywords may appear MetaSync can continue serving previously generated HTML when a URL has stored deployment data, WordPress plugin values, or another cache layer. Undeploying a recommendation removes its active instruction, but it may not immediately remove every previously saved value or generated response. This can happen even when the response appears fresh. A request may still pass through an active MetaSync process, a hosting or CDN cache, or a WordPress SEO pluginโ€™s stored fields. โœ… Confirm the issue 1. Open the affected URL in a private browser window. 2. View the page source, not only the browserโ€™s rendered elements. 3. Search for the deleted keyword or phrase. 4. Check the response headers and confirm whether the response was served from a cache. 5. Test the same URL with a cache-busting query string, if your site configuration allows it. If the keyword appears only in cached responses, purge the relevant site, hosting, CDN, or page-cache layer and test again. If it appears in a genuinely fresh response, the URL may still have MetaSync or OTTO data being processed at request time. ๐Ÿงน Recommended cleanup steps 1. Confirm that the recommendation is deleted or undeployed for the exact URL and project. 2. Refresh the project data and allow time for the change to propagate. 3. Clear caches managed by your website, hosting provider, CDN, and caching plugins. 4. Check the active SEO pluginโ€™s fields. Do not remove valid SEO-plugin values that were not created by MetaSync. 5. Retest the page source using a fresh request. Do not repeatedly delete unrelated recommendations or disable other optimizations. These actions can change valid page settings without addressing the URL-specific stale output. โš™๏ธ When to request a URL-specific cleanup Request platform assistance when the deleted keyword still appears in a fresh, uncached response after the recommendation was deleted or undeployed and all site-level caches were cleared. Include the full URL, project name, deleted keyword, approximate time of undeployment, and evidence from the page source and response headers. Our team can investigate the URLโ€™s remaining OTTO or MetaSync deployment state and target only the stale deployment. This helps preserve other active optimizations and existing SEO-plugin values. ๐Ÿ“Œ Important limitations - Browser refreshes do not clear server-side, CDN, or WordPress caches. - Deleting a recommendation does not necessarily remove values written by another SEO system. - Page source is more reliable than rendered HTML for confirming injected metadata or content. - Different URLs can have separate deployment states, so verify the exact affected URL. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Why Local Heatmap Results Look Inconsistent

๐Ÿ” Overview If you have noticed that your Local Heatmap produces different ranking scores when you run the same scan twice, or when you change the capitalisation of a keyword (for example, car repair vs. Car Repair), you are not alone. This article explains the known causes behind these inconsistencies, what our team is doing about them, and how to get the most reliable results in the meantime. โš ๏ธ Known Issues Currently Affecting the Heatmap Our engineering team has identified and is actively addressing several bugs that can cause the behaviour you may be experiencing. Here is a plain-language summary of each one: - Keyword case sensitivity: Searching for car repair and Car Repair were previously treated as two different keywords, which could return different ranking scores for the same business and location. A fix has been deployed to normalise all keywords to lowercase before they are submitted, so results should now be consistent regardless of how you capitalise your search term. - Rankings that depend on system location: When using a pinned grid, ranking results could vary based on the server's detected location rather than the grid coordinates you set. This fix has also been deployed. - Blank map or missing scan data: In some cases the heatmap displayed a blank map or failed to distinguish between a genuine ranking of 20+ (meaning your business was not found in the top 20 results) and a grid point where no scan data existed at all. Work is underway to make these two states clearly separate so you can trust what you see. - Display label errors: A small number of copy and label errors on the heatmap interface have been confirmed and are scheduled for correction in an upcoming release. ๐Ÿ“Š Why Results Can Still Vary Between Back-to-Back Runs Even with the above fixes in place, some variation between scans is expected and is not a sign that the tool is broken. The following factors are outside our control and can cause natural fluctuation: - Google's live index: Google updates local rankings in real time. A business's position can shift by one or two places within minutes based on review activity, proximity signals, or algorithm adjustments. - Grid point resolution: Each pin on the heatmap represents a geographic coordinate. Slight differences in how Google interprets proximity at that exact coordinate can produce minor ranking changes between runs. - Data freshness: If you run two scans very close together, one scan may pull fresher Google data than the other, leading to small differences in the results displayed. A difference of one or two ranking positions between scans is considered normal. Large, unexplained swings in the same session on the same keyword are more likely related to the bugs listed above, which are being resolved. โœ… Best Practices for Reliable Heatmap Results While remaining fixes are rolled out, the following steps will help you get the most accurate and consistent data from the Local Heatmap: 1. Use lowercase keywords consistently. Although the platform now normalises casing automatically, entering keywords in lowercase (for example, car repair rather than Car Repair) ensures you are comparing like-for-like scans in your history. 2. Wait at least 24 hours between comparison scans. Running scans back-to-back within minutes amplifies natural Google fluctuation. Daily or weekly comparisons give a more meaningful picture of ranking trends. 3. Check for blank or greyed-out pins. If you see pins that appear empty or show no ranking number, this may reflect the known blank-map issue rather than a genuine absence of ranking data. Note these points and recheck them after the next platform update. 4. Use the same grid size and radius settings each time you scan a keyword. Changing the grid configuration between runs will produce results that are not directly comparable. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Current Fix Status Here is a quick summary of where each known issue stands: - Keyword case normalisation โ€” Fixed and deployed. - System-location dependency on pinned grids โ€” Fixed and deployed. - Blank map and no-data vs. 20+ ranking distinction โ€” In progress. - Heatmap display label corrections โ€” Scheduled for an upcoming release. We will update this article as each remaining fix is released. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Seeing Unexpected Results? ๐Ÿ”ง Rank Tracker & Keyword Tools August 2026 Fixes

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ What Changed in This Release On 2026-08-26 we shipped four targeted fixes across Rank Tracker and Keyword Research. Each change addresses a specific pain point reported by users โ€” from misleading data labels to confusing jargon and misaligned columns. ๐Ÿ” Keyword Gap Analysis โ€” Site Limit Now Shows Clear Feedback The Add another site link inside Keyword Gap Analysis now provides visible feedback when you have reached the maximum of five sites. Previously the link became unresponsive with no explanation, leaving users unsure whether the click had registered. You will now see a clear indicator that the limit has been reached, so there is no guesswork. ๐Ÿ“ˆ Rank Tracker โ€” Keyword History Drawer Shows "NR" for Missing Ranks In the keyword history drawer, weeks where a keyword had no ranking data previously displayed as Position: 0, which could be misread as a genuine ranking of zero. Those entries now correctly display NR (Not Ranked), giving you an accurate picture of your keyword's ranking history at a glance. ๐Ÿ“Š Keyword Research โ€” "Most Successful Advertisers" Columns Realigned Numeric columns inside the Most Successful Advertisers table were previously right-aligned and pushed flush against the neighboring column, making the figures difficult to read. The columns are now properly spaced so numbers are easy to scan and compare. ๐Ÿš€ Rank Tracker โ€” "Start Tracking" Modal Language Clarified The Start Tracking modal previously contained internal technical jargon that was not meaningful to users outside of our engineering team. All labels and copy inside the modal have been rewritten in plain language, so you can set up keyword tracking confidently without needing to interpret unexplained terms. โœ… Do I Need to Do Anything? No action is required on your part. All four fixes are live automatically for every user. To see the improvements, simply navigate to the affected areas: - Rank Tracker โ†’ open the keyword history drawer or click Start Tracking to see updated labels and NR indicators. - Keyword Gap Analysis โ†’ try adding sites to experience the new five-site limit feedback. - Keyword Research โ†’ open the Most Successful Advertisers table to see the realigned columns. ๐Ÿ“‰ Understanding Keyword Drops After SEO Recommendations

๐Ÿ” Why Rankings Can Drop After Applying Recommendations It is normal to see short-term ranking fluctuations after implementing SEO changes โ€” even when those changes are correct. Search engines need time to re-crawl, re-index, and re-evaluate your pages. A temporary dip does not necessarily mean the recommendation was wrong; it is often part of the adjustment period before rankings stabilise or improve. Common reasons for a post-implementation drop include: - Crawl delay: Search engines may not immediately process your changes. This can take days or several weeks depending on your site's crawl frequency. - Algorithm fluctuations: Google regularly updates its ranking signals, which can cause movement independent of any changes you made. - Competitor activity: Rivals may have published new content or earned new backlinks around the same time. - Incomplete implementation: Only part of a recommendation was applied, creating inconsistency across a page or site. - On-page conflicts: A new change may conflict with an existing element such as a duplicate title tag or competing internal link. ๐Ÿ“Š How to Investigate a Ranking Drop in Search Atlas Before escalating, follow these steps to gather the data you need to understand what happened. 1. Check your Rank Tracker: Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker. Filter by the affected keywords and set the date range to cover at least 30 days before and after the change was applied. Look for the exact date the drop began. 2. Review keyword-level detail: In Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic, search for the affected terms to check current search volume, difficulty, and SERP features. A drop in a featured snippet or local pack position may look like a ranking drop but is a separate issue. 3. Run a Keyword Gap analysis: Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Gap and compare your domain against top competitors. This helps you identify whether competitors recently gained ground on the same terms. 4. Cross-reference your Site Explorer: Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Site Metrics (Site Explorer) and review overall organic traffic trends for the same period. If traffic is stable but ranking positions shifted, the impact may be less severe than it appears. โฑ๏ธ How Long Does Recovery Usually Take? Recovery timelines vary, but here are general expectations: - Minor fluctuations (1โ€“5 positions): Often self-correct within 1โ€“3 weeks as Google re-evaluates the page. - Moderate drops (5โ€“15 positions): May take 4โ€“8 weeks to recover, especially after content or structural changes. - Significant drops (15+ positions): Could indicate a deeper technical issue or algorithm impact. These require a more thorough audit and may take several months. Continue monitoring your Rank Tracker weekly during this period and avoid making multiple overlapping changes, as this makes it harder to identify the root cause. โœ… Steps to Take Right Now If you are currently experiencing a drop and want to take action, work through this checklist: 1. Confirm the recommendation was fully implemented โ€” partial changes can cause inconsistency. 2. Check that no other changes were made to the page around the same time (CMS updates, plugin changes, redirect edits). 3. Verify the page is still indexed by searching site:yourdomain.com/page-url in Google. 4. Look for any manual actions or security issues in Google Search Console. 5. Document the date of implementation and the exact keywords affected โ€” you will need this if you request a review. ๐Ÿ”„ Following Up on a Previous Support Review If a member of our team was previously investigating a ranking drop on your behalf and you need a status update or the findings from that review, please reach out directly through the platform chat. ๐Ÿ“Š Keyword Rank Report Showing Only Some Keywords

๐Ÿ” Overview If your keyword rank report is showing fewer keywords than expected, this is a known issue that our team is aware of. The cause has not been fully confirmed through a standard troubleshooting path, so the steps to resolve it may vary depending on your specific account setup. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What You Can Try While a verified self-serve resolution is not yet documented for this issue, the following general checks are worth attempting before escalating: - Check for active filters: Look at the top of your rank report for any active filters โ€” such as keyword groups, tags, or position ranges โ€” and try removing them to see if more keywords appear. - Check pagination: Your report may be limited to a certain number of results per page. Look for any pagination controls or a setting to increase the number of displayed results. - Check your keyword grouping view: If your keywords are organised into groups, try switching to a view that shows all keywords rather than a specific group. - Check device views: Rankings may be separated by device type. Make sure you are reviewing all available views to account for your full tracked keyword set. If these general checks do not resolve the issue, this will need to be investigated by our support team. ๐Ÿ“‹ What to Have Ready When You Escalate To help our team investigate as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready: - The name of the project or domain affected. - The total number of keywords you expect to see versus how many are currently displayed. - Any filters or settings you have already tried adjusting. - The approximate date and time when you first noticed the discrepancy. - Any screenshots showing the incomplete keyword list. ๐Ÿ“Š Keyword Rank Tracker Position Limits on Starter Plan

๐Ÿ“Œ What This Article Covers If you cannot see all keyword rankings in the Rank Tracker on the Starter plan, this article explains why. This is intentional product behaviour, not a bug. ๐Ÿ” Why Some Rankings Are Not Shown on the Starter Plan The Rank Tracker displays keyword positions only up to a defined limit on the Starter plan. This means: - Keywords ranking beyond that threshold will not appear in your tracked results. - This limit applies across all projects on a Starter plan account. - The limitation is part of the plan's designed feature scope, not a technical error or temporary restriction. Deeper SERP tracking requires significantly more data processing and is reserved for higher-tier plans that are built to support larger-scale rank monitoring workflows. โœ… Your Options to Access Full Ranking Visibility If tracking keywords beyond the Starter plan's position limit is important to your SEO strategy, here is what you can do: 1. Upgrade your plan. Higher-tier plans unlock rank tracking beyond the Starter plan's position limit, giving you visibility into a broader range of SERP positions for all tracked keywords. You can review available plans from the top-right avatar โ†’ Billing (Plans & Top-ups) in your account. 2. Prioritise your tracked keywords. If upgrading is not the right fit right now, focus your Starter plan tracking on the keywords most likely to rank within the visible range, where data is fully available to you. 3. Contact our support team. If you are unsure which plan is right for your needs or want to confirm exactly which position range your current plan covers, our team can help clarify your options. ๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Duplicate GBP Entries in Search Atlas Rank Tracker

๐Ÿ” Overview If you see two entries for the same business name โ€” for example, two listings for Michelle or Marcella โ€” inside the Google Business Profile (GBP) section of Search Atlas Rank Tracker, this is almost always caused by one of three Search Atlas-specific issues: a duplicate profile created during heatmap setup, a report data source mismatch, or a caching and sync delay. This article walks you through each cause and how to resolve it. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Cause 1: Duplicate Profiles Created During Heatmap Setup The most common reason for duplicate GBP entries is re-adding a business when configuring a heatmap instead of selecting the existing saved profile. When you set up a new heatmap grid in Rank Tracker, the platform prompts you to connect a GBP location. If the business was added from scratch at that point โ€” rather than chosen from your already-saved locations โ€” Search Atlas creates a second, separate profile entry for the same business. Each entry then generates its own data trail, so both appear in your location list and can be attached to different reports or projects independently. How to check for this: 1. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker. 2. Open the project that contains the duplicate business names. 3. Navigate to the GBP / Local or Heatmap section of that project. 4. Compare the two entries: look at the address, place ID, and the date each was added. If both share the same address but have different creation dates or slightly different name formatting, a duplicate was created during heatmap setup. How to fix it: 1. Identify the newer duplicate entry (typically the one added most recently). 2. Remove it from the heatmap or project configuration. 3. Re-attach the heatmap to the original, pre-existing GBP profile by selecting it from your saved locations list rather than adding it anew. 4. Save the project. Future heatmap data will now consolidate under the single correct profile. ๐Ÿ“Š Cause 2: Report Data Source Mismatch A duplicate can also appear to exist when the same physical GBP profile is pulled as a data source in two different company or project contexts inside Search Atlas. This means the profile itself is not truly duplicated in Google โ€” it is the same listing โ€” but because it has been connected to more than one Search Atlas project or client workspace, it surfaces in reports under different company names. This is common in agency accounts where the same location (for example, a practitioner with multiple client records) has been linked to more than one project during onboarding. How to check for this: 1. In Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker, open each project that shows the duplicate name. 2. Check the data source assigned to the GBP entry in each project โ€” look at the connected Google account, the place ID, or the business URL. 3. If the place ID or business URL is identical across both projects, you are looking at a data source mismatch rather than a true duplicate profile. How to fix it: 1. Decide which project should be the canonical home for that GBP location. 2. In the secondary project, disconnect or remove the GBP data source. 3. If rank tracking is still needed for that business in the second project, create a keyword-only tracking setup without re-linking the GBP location, or consolidate both projects into one. 4. Update any scheduled reports to pull from the single, correct data source so the business name no longer appears under two company contexts. โณ Cause 3: Caching and Sync Delays Occasionally, a GBP entry that was recently deleted or renamed inside Search Atlas continues to appear in the Rank Tracker list or in exported reports due to a caching delay. This can make it look like a duplicate is still present even after you have taken corrective action. How to check for this: - Confirm the deletion or rename was saved successfully inside the project settings. - Check whether the ghost entry still appears after a hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on Mac). - Wait up to 24 hours after making changes, as GBP sync cycles can take time to propagate across all report views. How to fix it: 1. Force a manual data refresh on the affected project if the option is available in your Rank Tracker project settings. 2. Clear your browser cache and log back into Search Atlas. 3. If the entry still appears after 24 hours, escalate to support (see below) and include the project name, the business names showing as duplicates, and a screenshot. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Systematic Troubleshooting Checklist Before escalating, work through these steps in order: 1. Confirm it is a Search Atlas issue, not a Google issue. Log in to Google Business Profile directly at business.google.com and verify how many listings exist there for the business name in question. If there is only one listing in Google, the duplication is entirely within Search Atlas. 2. Check creation dates. In Rank Tracker, view the details of both entries. Different creation dates with the same address point to Cause 1 (heatmap re-add). 3. Check place IDs or business URLs. Matching place IDs across two projects point to Cause 2 (data source mismatch). 4. Check if entries disappear after a refresh. If a refresh resolves it, the issue was a cache delay (Cause 3). 5. Review report data sources. Open each affected report, confirm which GBP profile it is pulling from, and update mismatched sources. 6. Document before making changes. Take a screenshot of both entries including their addresses, project names, and any visible IDs before editing or deleting anything. This helps if escalation is needed. ๐Ÿšซ What This Issue Is Not This is not the same as a standard Google Business Profile duplication problem (such as two separate listings on Google Maps for the same address). You do not need to request a GBP merge through Google Search Console or Google support to resolve this. The fix lives entirely inside your Search Atlas account configuration. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need Help? ๐Ÿ” Troubleshooting Missing Keyword Data

This article helps you understand why your keyword data may appear blank, missing, or inaccessible. Because the root cause can vary, the steps below cover the most common things to check. If none of these resolve your issue, our team can investigate directly. Common Causes of Missing Keyword Data Before taking any action, identify which of the following situations applies to you: - No project connected: Keyword data is tied to a specific project. If you have not created or selected a project, there is no data source to display. - Wrong project selected: You may be viewing a different project than the one where your keywords were added. Confirm that the active project matches where your keywords were saved. - Keyword list not yet populated: If you recently created a project or keyword list, the data may still be processing. - Subscription or quota limit reached: Your current plan may limit the number of tracked keywords. If you have reached your quota, new keywords will not appear and some existing data may be restricted. - Active filters hiding results: An active filter or search term may be hiding results that do exist. - Browser or cache issue: Stale cached data can cause a blank or incomplete view. Steps to Try 1. Confirm you have an active project selected. If no project exists, create one and add your target domain. 2. Navigate to your keyword section and verify the correct project is active. 3. Check for any active filters or search terms in the keyword view. Clear all filters to confirm whether data appears. 4. If your keyword list was recently created or keywords were recently added, wait a few minutes and then reload the page to allow processing to complete. 5. Review your plan's keyword tracking quota in your account settings and confirm you have not reached your tracked keyword limit. If you have, consider removing unused keywords or upgrading your plan. 6. Perform a hard refresh in your browser (Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows, Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) or clear your browser cache, then reload the platform and navigate back to your keyword section. If the Issue Persists If you have tried the steps above and your keyword data is still missing or inaccessible, please reach out to our support team. To help us investigate quickly, have the following ready: - The name of the project where keyword data is missing - A description of what you see (e.g., blank table, error message, partial data) - Any exact error messages displayed on screen - The approximate time you first noticed the issue If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“˜ Why Keyword Reports Are Blank in Search Atlas (Rank Tracker & Keyword Gap)

If your keyword reports appear blank in Search Atlas, this does not always mean there is an outage or account issue. In most cases, blank reports are caused by configuration settings, quota, or processing status. However, some tools (such as Keyword Gap Analysis) may occasionally experience temporary bugs, which are handled separately. This article explains how to identify the cause and what to do next. ๐Ÿงฑ Tools Covered in This Article 1. Keyword Rank Tracker 2. Keyword Gap Analysis ๐Ÿง  Common Causes of Blank Keyword Reports Quota is usually not the issue: if you have keywords available in your account, blank reports are usually not related to keyword limits. Blank reports in Keyword Rank Tracker are usually caused by keywords needing a manual refresh, an incorrect domain variant (http vs https, www vs non-www), incorrect location or device settings, insufficient quota, or the tracker still processing data. โš™๏ธ How to Fix a Blank Keyword Rank Tracker Report 1. Go to your Keyword Rank Tracker project and look for keywords marked as "refresh needed." 2. Click Refresh (this consumes quota). Data typically appears within 5โ€“10 minutes after refreshing. 3. Verify the project configuration: confirm the tracked domain exactly matches your live site, the correct location is selected, and the correct device type (desktop or mobile) is set. ๐Ÿงช Keyword Gap Analysis โ€” Important Note If your Keyword Gap Analysis report is blank after domains are entered correctly, the analysis has finished processing, and the correct date range is selected, the issue may be related to a temporary product bug. ๐Ÿšจ When the Issue Is a Bug If Keyword Rank Tracker is working correctly, Keyword Gap Analysis remains blank, and all configurations are correct, this indicates a known issue and the development team may already be working on a fix. In these cases, no additional action is required from you โ€” support may add you as an affected user and you will be updated when the issue is resolved. โ“ FAQs My keyword tracker was blank but now works โ€” is that normal? Yes. This usually happens after refreshing keywords or correcting project settings. Why does Keyword Gap Analysis still not work? If configuration is correct, this may be a temporary bug. Should I keep refreshing Keyword Gap Analysis? No. Repeated refreshes will not resolve a product bug. Do I need to contact support? Only if Keyword Rank Tracker does not populate after refresh, or Keyword Gap Analysis remains blank with correct setup. ๐Ÿ“ Why Heatmap Keyword Rankings Fluctuate by Location

๐Ÿ“‹ Overview Local SEO Heatmaps in Search Atlas show keyword rankings across a geographic grid, giving you a visual snapshot of how your business performs in different parts of a target area. Because rankings are pulled based on precise geographic coordinates, small changes in grid settings, pin placement, or system configuration can cause rankings to shift โ€” or appear as not rated โ€” even if your actual Google Business Profile (GBP) performance has not changed. This article explains the most common reasons for ranking fluctuations and what you can do to get consistent, reliable results. ๐Ÿ” Common Reasons Rankings Fluctuate or Show 'Not Rated' Several known factors can cause keyword rankings to change unexpectedly or display as not rated for specific grid locations: - System location dependency with pinned grids: When a pinned grid is used, ranking results can vary depending on the underlying system location at the time the scan runs. If the system location differs between scans, results for the same grid point may not match. - Pin count exceeding 20: When the number of pins in a heatmap grid exceeds 20, ranking results become dependent on system location. This can introduce inconsistency across scans, especially for outer grid points. - Pinned base address changed automatically: After April 25th, some heatmaps experienced an automatic change to their pinned location (base address). If your base address shifted without you changing it manually, this would alter which geographic coordinates are scanned and produce different ranking results. - Rankings not matching live Google SERP: There is a known issue where heatmap rankings for positions above 10 may not accurately reflect what appears on a live Google Search results page. This is an active area of improvement in our engineering roadmap. - Natural ranking volatility: Google's local search rankings fluctuate organically due to algorithm updates, competitor activity, review velocity, and proximity factors. A location showing not rated may simply mean your business did not appear in the top results for that grid point at the time of the scan. โœ… Steps to Troubleshoot Fluctuating Rankings 1. Verify your pinned base address. Open your Local SEO Heatmap and confirm that the base address (pinned location) is correctly set to your business address. If it has changed, update it and re-run the scan to get accurate results. 2. Check your pin count. If your heatmap grid uses more than 20 pins, consider reducing the number of grid points. Keeping pin count at 20 or below helps ensure ranking results are consistent and not affected by system location variations. 3. Compare scan dates. If rankings dropped or disappeared after a specific date, check whether the scan was run after April 25th. Heatmaps affected by the automatic base address change may need their pinned location to be manually corrected before results become reliable again. 4. Re-run the heatmap scan. After confirming your base address and pin settings are correct, trigger a fresh scan. Rankings for previously not rated locations may reappear once the correct grid coordinates are used. 5. Cross-check with live Google results. For rankings you expect to appear in positions 1โ€“10, manually search your target keyword on Google while setting your location to the grid point in question. This helps you determine whether the discrepancy is a display issue in the heatmap or a genuine ranking drop. 6. Allow time for stabilisation. If you recently corrected your settings, run scans across two or three consecutive days. Local rankings can fluctuate naturally, and a single scan may not represent a stable baseline. ๐Ÿ’ก Best Practices for Consistent Heatmap Results - Keep your grid pin count at 20 or fewer to avoid system location dependency issues. - Always confirm your pinned base address matches your verified business address before running a scan. - Run heatmap scans at consistent times of day to reduce noise from real-time ranking fluctuations. - Use the Rank Tracker (Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker) alongside your heatmap to monitor keyword trends over time and spot genuine ranking drops versus scan anomalies. - Document your baseline results after a confirmed correct scan so you have an accurate reference point for future comparisons. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Known Issues Being Addressed Our engineering team is actively working on improvements to Local SEO Heatmap accuracy. A known regression affecting rankings above position 10 โ€” where heatmap results do not match the live Google SERP โ€” is currently in development. Updates will be reflected in the platform as fixes are released. No action is required on your end for this specific issue. ๐Ÿ™‹ Need More Help? If you have checked your base address, reduced your pin count, and re-run your scans but rankings are still showing as not rated or appear inconsistent, our team is happy to investigate further. ๐Ÿ“Š Keywords Not Showing in Rank Tracking Report

๐Ÿ• Why Keywords Don't Appear Immediately After you add keywords to a rank tracking report, they will not appear right away. Search Atlas runs its first data collection cycle within 24 hours of setup. This is completely normal and does not indicate an error with your report or keywords. If you added keywords for a project and the list looks empty, the most likely reason is simply that the first tracking cycle has not completed yet. No action is required โ€” check back after 24 hours and your keyword rankings will be populated. โœ… How to Confirm Your Keywords Were Added Correctly While you wait for the first data cycle, you can verify that your keywords were saved successfully: 1. Open your rank tracking report in Search Atlas. 2. Locate the project you created and open it. 3. Check that the keywords you entered are listed within the project. If they appear โ€” even without ranking data โ€” the setup was completed correctly and data will populate within 24 hours. โš ๏ธ What to Check If Keywords Are Still Missing After 24 Hours If more than 24 hours have passed and your keywords still show no data, review the following common causes: - Keywords were not saved: Make sure you confirmed or saved your entries after entering keywords. Closing the setup window early can discard unsaved entries. - Wrong project selected: Double-check that you are viewing the correct project. Multiple projects may have similar names. ๐Ÿ”„ How to Re-Add Keywords If Needed If you confirmed that your keywords were not saved, open your rank tracking report, locate your project, and add the keywords again โ€” making sure to save before closing the setup. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐ŸŒ Fix GSC Geographic Targeting Country Selection Issues

Overview When you add a domain to Google Search Console (GSC) and configure geographic targeting, you may find that certain countries โ€” including the United States โ€” are greyed out or unavailable in the target country dropdown. This is a known limitation tied to how Google interprets your domain's properties. This article explains what causes the restriction and what you can realistically do about it. Why Country Selection Gets Restricted Google Search Console restricts geographic targeting options based on signals it reads from your domain. The two most common causes are: - Country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs). If your domain uses a country-specific TLD (for example, .co.uk, .de, .fr, .com.au), Google automatically associates that domain with the corresponding country. Because the geographic signal is already built into the domain itself, GSC locks or greys out the country targeting selector โ€” including options like the United States โ€” and you cannot override this through GSC settings alone. - Domain property vs. URL-prefix property. Certain property types in GSC expose different levels of targeting controls. A Domain property may display fewer editable targeting options than a URL-prefix property in some configurations. What You Can Do Use the steps below to diagnose and address the restriction: 1. Identify whether you are using a ccTLD. Go to your domain registrar and confirm your top-level domain. If it is a country-code TLD (any TLD that is not a generic TLD such as .com, .net, .org, .io, etc.), this is almost certainly the cause of the greyed-out selector. GSC does not allow you to change country targeting for ccTLDs โ€” this is a hard Google limitation, not a bug or configuration error. 2. Understand your realistic options if you are on a ccTLD. There are two paths forward: - Accept the limitation. If your business genuinely targets the country associated with your ccTLD, no action is needed โ€” GSC is correctly reflecting your domain's geographic signal. - Migrate to a generic TLD. If you need to target a different country (for example, the United States) and your current domain is a ccTLD, the only reliable resolution is to register a generic TLD (.com, .net, .org, etc.), migrate your site to that domain, and re-add it as a new GSC property. After doing so, the country targeting selector will become available and editable. 3. Check your GSC property type if you are on a generic TLD. If your domain uses a generic TLD but country targeting is still restricted, confirm in GSC whether your property is set up as a Domain property or a URL-prefix property. Navigate to GSC โ†’ Settings โ†’ Search Console preferences and review the property type. If needed, add a URL-prefix version of your property to access targeting controls. 4. Navigate to the International Targeting report. In GSC, go to Settings โ†’ International Targeting โ†’ Country tab. If a message states that targeting is not available for your property, this confirms the restriction is domain-level and cannot be changed within GSC. What to Expect If your domain is a ccTLD, no GSC setting change, hosting change, or Search Atlas configuration will unlock the greyed-out country selector โ€” the restriction is enforced by Google at the domain level. The only way to gain full country targeting control is to use a generic TLD. If your domain is already a generic TLD and targeting is still restricted, that is worth escalating so the specific configuration can be reviewed. ๐Ÿ“‰ Fixing Empty Keyword Position History Graph

You open your keyword position history and the graph is blank, even though it showed data before. This is usually caused by a filter, a date range, or a temporary loading issue, and it can normally be fixed in a few minutes. This article explains the most common causes and how to resolve them. ๐Ÿ”Ž What the Graph Shows The keyword position history graph plots how your tracked keywords have ranked over time. For the graph to draw a line, the platform needs ranking data for the date range, location, device, and keywords you have selected. If any of these settings do not match the data available, the graph can appear empty. โ“ Why the Graph Might Show No Data - The date range has no data. If the selected dates are before tracking began or in a period with no recorded checks, the graph will be blank. - Filters are too narrow. A specific location, device, search engine, or keyword group may exclude the data you expect to see. - The wrong project or domain is selected. Switching projects can show a graph with no history if that project has no tracked keywords. - Keywords were recently added or changed. New keywords need time to collect ranking checks before a line can appear. - Keywords were removed or paused. If tracking was turned off or the keywords were deleted, the graph may no longer display their history. - A temporary loading issue. A slow connection, a cached page, or a browser extension can stop the graph from rendering. - Rankings fell outside the tracked range. If a keyword is not ranking within the tracked positions, there may be no position to plot. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step-by-Step Fixes Work through these steps in order. Many customers find the graph returns after the first or second step. 1. Refresh the page. Reload the page and wait a few seconds for the graph to load fully. 2. Check the date range. Widen the range, for example to the last 30 or 90 days, to make sure it includes periods when your keywords were tracked. 3. Reset your filters. Clear any location, device, search engine, or keyword filters, then add them back one at a time to find which one hides your data. 4. Confirm your project. Make sure the correct project and domain are selected at the top of the page. 5. Check your tracked keywords. Open your keyword list and confirm the keywords are still being tracked and have not been removed or paused. 6. Clear your browser cache. Clear cached data, then sign in again and reopen the page. 7. Try another browser or a private window. This helps rule out extensions, such as ad blockers, that can interfere with graphs. 8. Wait and check again. If keywords were just added or updated, ranking data may need some time to appear. Check back later. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Prevent This Issue - Use a wider date range when reviewing trends, since short ranges may contain few data points. - Keep your tracked keyword list up to date and avoid removing keywords you want to monitor over time. - Note which filters are active before concluding that data is missing. - Keep your browser updated and temporarily disable extensions if graphs fail to load. ๐Ÿ“‹ What to Share If the Problem Continues If the graph is still empty after the steps above, a few details help our team resolve it faster: - The project or domain name - The keyword or keywords affected - The date range and filters you were using - When you last saw the graph showing data - A screenshot of the empty graph ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need More Help? โฑ๏ธ Keyword List Upload Processing Times and SLAs

๐Ÿ” Overview When you upload a keyword list in Search Atlas, the platform queues and processes your file in the background. Processing is not always instant โ€” depending on list size and current system load, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. This article explains expected processing times, what can cause delays, and what to do if your list has not loaded after more than a day or two. ๐Ÿ“‹ Where to Find Your Uploaded Keyword Lists You can view and manage your uploaded keyword lists in two locations depending on the tool you are using: - Rank Tracker: Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker - Keyword Researcher: Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords Navigate to the relevant tool and look for your list in the keyword list panel. If it is still processing, you will see a loading indicator or a Processing status next to the list name. โณ Expected Processing Times by List Size Processing time depends primarily on the number of keywords in your uploaded file. Use the table below as a general guide: - Up to 500 keywords: Typically ready within 5โ€“15 minutes - 500โ€“2,000 keywords: Typically ready within 15โ€“60 minutes - 2,000โ€“10,000 keywords: Typically ready within 1โ€“4 hours - 10,000+ keywords: May take up to 24 hours depending on system load These are standard estimates under normal system conditions. Actual times may vary. โš ๏ธ Factors That Can Affect Processing Time Several factors may cause your upload to take longer than the estimates above: - High system load: During peak usage periods, processing queues may be longer than usual. - File formatting issues: Uploads with inconsistent formatting, extra columns, or unsupported characters may take longer to parse. - Large batch uploads: If multiple large lists are uploaded at the same time, each will be queued sequentially. - Duplicate keywords: A high volume of duplicate entries can increase processing time as the system deduplicates the list. โœ… What to Do While You Wait While your keyword list is processing, you can continue using other areas of Search Atlas without interruption. You do not need to stay on the page โ€” the processing continues in the background. When the list is ready, it will appear automatically the next time you open the relevant tool. To confirm the upload was received correctly, check the following: 1. Navigate to the tool where you uploaded the list (Rank Tracker or Keyword Researcher). 2. Look for your list name in the keyword list panel. 3. If a Processing or Pending status is visible, the upload was received and is in the queue. 4. If no entry appears at all, the upload may not have completed โ€” try uploading the file again. ๐Ÿšจ When to Escalate: The 48-Hour Rule In the vast majority of cases, keyword list uploads โ€” regardless of size โ€” complete within 24 hours. If your list has been in a Processing or Pending state for more than more than a day or two, this is outside the expected service level and should be escalated to the support team. Before escalating, please have the following information ready: - The name of the keyword list you uploaded - The approximate number of keywords in the file - The date and time you uploaded the file - The tool you used (Rank Tracker or Keyword Researcher) - A screenshot of the current status if one is visible If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Troubleshooting Keyword Data Not Visible

This article helps you diagnose and fix the most common reasons why keyword data appears missing, blank, or inaccessible in your Search Atlas account. Rather than just navigating to the Keywords section, we'll walk through the specific checks that determine why data isn't showing โ€” and how to confirm it's working again. ๐Ÿ“ Where to Find It Keyword data lives in two main areas of the left sidebar: - Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research โ€” your saved keyword lists, search history, and lookup tool. - Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic โ€” broader keyword discovery and filtering. - Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker โ€” tracked keyword rankings by project. - Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Gap โ€” competitor keyword comparison. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step-by-Step 1. Check your Keyword Lookup credits. Navigate to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research. If you see a prompt that reads "Go to billing to Top Up Keyword Lookups," your account has exhausted its lookup credits. No credits means no new keyword data can be retrieved. Proceed to Step 2 to resolve this. 2. Top up your credits if needed. Go to Top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Plans & Top-ups tab and select Add Payment Method or Change Plan to restore your keyword lookup allowance. Once topped up, return to Keyword Research and retry your search. 3. Verify you are searching within the correct tab. Inside Keyword Research, confirm you are on the right tab for what you expect to see: the Keyword lists tab shows saved lists, and the History tab shows past searches. If you ran a search previously but see nothing under Keyword lists, check the History tab first. 4. Check your plan's feature access. Some keyword tools โ€” including Keyword Gap โ€” may require a specific plan tier. Go to Top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Billing โ†’ Plans & Top-ups tab and review your active plan to confirm the feature is included. 5. Check team member permissions. If you are a team member (not the account owner), your visibility may be restricted. Ask your account admin to go to Top-right corner (avatar) โ†’ Team Members and confirm your role is set to Viewer or Admin with appropriate access โ€” not Deactivated. 6. Retry a keyword search from scratch. Go to Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research, enter a keyword in the search bar, and run a fresh lookup. If data returns, your previous view may simply have been empty due to no prior searches or a cleared history. โœ… How to Confirm It Worked You'll know keyword data visibility is fully restored when all of the following are true: - A search in Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research returns a populated results table with metrics (search volume, difficulty, etc.) โ€” not a blank screen or an error prompt. - The History tab shows your recent searches listed with timestamps. - No "Top Up Keyword Lookups" or billing prompt appears blocking the results view. - If you use Keyword Gap, entering competitor domains and clicking Analyze Keywords returns a comparison table rather than a locked or empty state. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“‰ Ranking Declines and Refund Requests

๐Ÿ“Œ Understand ranking changes Search rankings can change because of algorithm updates, competitor activity, search location, seasonality, technical issues, or changes to your website and business profile. A ranking decline does not by itself confirm that the platform caused the change. Before requesting a refund, record the affected keywords, locations, dates, landing pages, and the size of the decline. Compare several dates and search locations rather than relying on one search result. ๐Ÿ”Ž Check your project data 1. Open Home from the left sidebar and select the affected project. 2. Review the projectโ€™s ranking history and confirm that the correct website, keywords, search engine, device, and location are selected. 3. Check whether the project was paused, deleted, disconnected, or reset during the period being reviewed. 4. Review recent website changes, redirects, indexing issues, Google Business Profile changes, and major content updates. 5. Refresh the data and compare the results with Google Search Console or another trusted source when available. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Troubleshoot a project reset failure If a reset does not complete, avoid repeatedly submitting the same action. Repeated attempts may create duplicate jobs or delay processing. 1. Refresh the page and confirm that you are working in the correct project. 2. Check your project settings and connection status. 3. Record the time of the failed reset and save any displayed error message. 4. Refresh the data from Home and allow the system time to finish processing. 5. Do not delete the project while troubleshooting if you need historical ranking data. Include screenshots, the project name, reset time, affected keywords, and the expected result when reporting the issue. This helps the team investigate without requiring repeated explanations. ๐Ÿ’ณ How refund requests are reviewed Refunds are reviewed individually. A ranking decline, dissatisfaction with results, or time spent using the platform does not automatically qualify an account for a refund. The review may consider the invoice or transaction, product usage, processing status, account history, and whether a technical failure prevented the purchased service from being delivered. Some completed services, credits, top-ups, or third-party costs may have different refund treatment. Do not assume that a refund of one item applies to every invoice or credit type. ๐Ÿ“ Prepare your request - List the specific invoices, charges, or credits you want reviewed. - Explain what happened, including the ranking decline or reset failure. - Provide project names, dates, screenshots, and error messages. - State whether you are requesting a full refund, a partial refund, a credit adjustment, or a technical correction. - Keep the affected project available unless the team asks you to remove it. Refund requests are not guaranteed, but complete evidence helps the team reach the correct decision and identify any eligible service or credit adjustment. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Contact the support team If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“Š Refund Requests After Ranking Declines

๐Ÿ“Œ Understand ranking changes Search rankings can change because of Google updates, competitor activity, location, search intent, technical issues, or changes to your website and Google Business Profile. A ranking decline does not automatically confirm that the platform caused the change or qualify an account for a refund. Before requesting a refund, review the affected keywords, locations, dates, landing pages, and any changes made during the same period. Compare several data points rather than relying on one daily result. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Troubleshoot a failed project reset 1. Confirm that you are working in the correct project and account. 2. Refresh the page and check whether the reset completed or is still processing. 3. Review your project settings, connected integrations, and available quota. 4. Avoid repeatedly starting the same reset while the first attempt is processing. 5. Record the project name, reset date, error message, and any affected actions. If a reset fails after the available retry attempts, keep the error details available for review. Do not delete the project while investigating, because deletion may remove access to historical project data. ๐Ÿ“ˆ Gather information about the decline - Project name and website - Affected keywords and target locations - Approximate date the decline began - Before-and-after ranking screenshots or exports - Recent website, content, backlink, tracking, or GBP changes - Reset attempts, timestamps, and error messages - Invoices or specific charges included in the request For local projects, review the relevant project under Left sidebar โ†’ Local โ†’ GBP Projects. You can also check local data through Left sidebar โ†’ Local โ†’ Local SEO Heatmaps and related Local sections. ๐Ÿ’ณ Request a refund review Refund requests are reviewed based on the specific charge, service delivery, account activity, and the circumstances documented for the issue. A refund is not guaranteed solely because rankings declined, time was spent using the service, or a reset failed. Explain what happened clearly and request review of the exact invoices or charges in question. Include your evidence and describe the outcome you are seeking. If a system action used quota or credits, include the related project and action so the team can verify whether an adjustment is available. โœ… Prevent future issues - Export or record important ranking data before making major project changes. - Make one significant SEO change at a time and monitor its impact. - Keep project settings, integrations, and business details up to date. - Save screenshots of errors before refreshing, retrying, or deleting a project. - Use consistent keywords, locations, and measurement dates when comparing rankings. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Get help with your case Include the project name, affected dates, ranking evidence, reset error details, and invoice numbers in your request. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“Š Rank Tracker Not Pulling Data After 24 Hours

๐Ÿ” Overview Rank Tracker typically refreshes keyword position data within 24 hours of setup. If your project has gone beyond that window with no data appearing, the root cause is often something that requires investigation on the backend side. This article explains what to check on your end and, importantly, what information to have ready so our team can resolve it quickly. โœ… Step 1: Confirm Your Basic Project Setup Before escalating, do a quick check to make sure your project is configured correctly. - Navigate to Keywords โ†’ Rank Tracker (Keyword Rank Tracker) from the left sidebar and locate the affected project. - Confirm that at least one keyword is actively listed under the project. - Verify that a target domain and search location are set for the project. - Make sure the domain is entered without unnecessary subpaths (e.g., use ignitedispensary.com rather than ignitedispensary.com/home). If the project appears correctly configured but still shows no data after 24 hours, the issue is likely backend in nature and will require our team to investigate. โš ๏ธ When to Escalate If data has not populated after 24 hours despite a correctly configured project, this is a backend issue that our support or engineering team must resolve. Customer-side troubleshooting steps alone will not fix it. When you reach out, please have the following ready so we can act immediately: - Project name: The exact name of the Rank Tracker project affected. - Target domain: The domain entered in the project (e.g., ignitedispensary.com). - Keywords affected: A few example keywords that are showing no data. - Search engine and country/location: The settings selected for the project. - Timestamp: When the project was created or last modified, and how long it has been without data. Having this information ready allows our team to locate your project and begin the backend investigation without delay. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What Happens Next Once our team receives your report, we will investigate the data pipeline for your project and take the necessary backend action to restore keyword data collection. You do not need to delete or recreate your project unless specifically instructed to do so. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Find Missing Keyword Lists and Verify Quota

๐Ÿ” Check the Keyword Research area Open Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research. Review the available lists and use Search or View to locate the list by name, keyword, or creation details. ๐Ÿ“‹ Review saved lists and history In Keyword Research, open the Keyword lists tab and select Search List. If the list is not shown, open the History tab and use Search History to find the research session that created it. From a matching history entry, use Create List to save the results again if needed. ๐Ÿข Confirm the correct workspace and project A list may be saved under a different workspace, client, project, or site. Switch to each workspace you use, then repeat the search in Left sidebar โ†’ Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research โ†’ Keyword lists. Also check that you are viewing the same site or project selected when the research was performed. ๐Ÿ”„ Check loading and persistence 1. Refresh the Keyword Research page. 2. Confirm that the correct workspace and project are selected. 3. Search using part of the list name rather than the full name. 4. Check the History tab for the original research activity. 5. If you imported the list, confirm that the import completed successfully and that the file contained valid keywords. ๐Ÿ“Š Verify quota usage Quota usage depends on the feature used. Review the relevant usage or quota indicator in the platform and compare it with the action time, workspace, and project. For Rank Tracker, usage can be multiplied by the number of SERP pages tracked. Deep tracking may therefore use more quota units per keyword than expected. A 40-point deduction cannot be confirmed from the list name alone; it requires the feature, account, workspace, project, and usage details. ๐Ÿงพ Prepare details for verification If the list remains missing or the quota amount looks incorrect, record the list name, approximate creation time, workspace, client or site, feature used, number of keywords, tracking depth, and the quota amount shown before and after the action. This information helps verify whether the list was saved and how usage was calculated. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be instantly connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ› Fix Duplicate URL Projects Merging Keywords Bug

What Is This Issue? If you create a new project using a URL that is already linked to an existing project in Search Atlas, the platform may merge keyword data between the two projects. This can cause keywords to appear to disappear, move unexpectedly, or show up in the wrong project. A common example: you have an existing project for Las Vegas tracking a business URL, and you create a new project for HVAC using the same URL. Instead of two separate projects, keyword data from one may bleed into the other. Why Does This Happen? Search Atlas uses a unique identifier to distinguish projects. When two projects share the same URL without other differentiating data points โ€” such as a specific business location identifier โ€” the platform can treat them as the same project and merge their keyword data. This is a known bug that our team is aware of and is working to resolve. How to Avoid This Issue Right Now Until a fix is in place, keep the following in mind when setting up multiple projects for the same URL: - Check for existing projects first. Before creating a new project, review your active projects and confirm whether the URL you plan to use is already assigned to another project. - Use distinct tracking settings. When creating your new project, make sure any available location, business profile, or category fields are filled in accurately. These additional details help the platform tell projects apart even when the base URL is the same. - Avoid duplicate URL and location combinations. Do not create two projects that share the exact same URL and the same location or business profile. What to Do If Your Keywords Have Already Merged If you are already experiencing this issue and your keywords have been absorbed into another project, please reach out for assistance. When contacting support, have the following ready: - The names of the affected projects - The shared URL used across those projects - A description of which keywords appear to be missing or in the wrong project - The approximate date when you first noticed the issue If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Find Saved Keyword Lists

๐Ÿ”Ž Why your list may not appear A saved keyword list can exist in your Search Atlas account but not appear immediately in Keyword Researcher. This may happen after returning from keyword search results, changing pages, or when the list is associated with a different site or client. The Atlas agent may still find the list because it can access saved data directly, while the Keyword Researcher page is displaying an incomplete or outdated list view. ๐Ÿงญ Open the saved lists correctly 1. Open Keywords from the left sidebar. 2. Select Keyword Magic or open Keyword Researcher at /research/keyword-researcher. 3. Refresh the page, then look for your saved keyword list. 4. If you previously opened search results, return to the main Keyword Researcher page before checking the saved lists again. โš™๏ธ Check the list and site context - Confirm that you are using the correct Search Atlas workspace, client, and site. - Check whether the list was saved with keywords. Empty lists may not be saved successfully. - Look for similar list names. Saved lists may not clearly show the associated client or site. - Verify that you have the required workspace permissions to view the list. ๐Ÿ”„ Refresh the list view If the page shows No keyword lists found, refresh the browser page and reopen Keyword Researcher from the left sidebar. Avoid relying only on the browser Back button after viewing keyword results, as the saved-list view may not reload correctly. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ If the list is still missing 1. Note the exact list name, workspace, client, site, and approximate creation date. 2. Confirm whether the Atlas agent can locate the list. 3. Do not create a duplicate list until the original has been checked. 4. Capture a screenshot of the empty state or any error message. If the Atlas agent can find the list but Keyword Researcher cannot display it, the saved data may still be available while the page view needs investigation. If a list shows a data error but metrics appear below it, record that behavior as well. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“ Fix Missing Keyword Data Visibility

If your keyword data appears blank or missing even though you know keywords exist for your site, this usually means the wrong project, filter, or date range is hiding your data rather than the data being lost. This article walks through general areas to check when keyword data appears inaccessible. ๐Ÿ“ Where to Find It Keyword data in Search Atlas is typically found in your project's rank tracking section (for tracked keywords tied to a project) and in the keyword research area of the platform. Make sure you are looking in the correct section for the type of keyword data you expect to see. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step-by-Step 1. Confirm you have the correct project or domain selected at the top of the platform โ€” keyword data is tied to a specific project, and switching projects is the most common cause of a suddenly empty view. 2. Check that the date range selected in your keyword view overlaps with when your keywords were added; an overly narrow or future-dated range will show no rows. 3. Check for active filters (such as device, location, tags, or search terms) on your keyword page โ€” clear any filters to rule out a filtered-empty state. 4. If your tracked keyword list is genuinely empty, check the keyword research area of the platform to verify whether the keywords still exist in your account at all, separate from tracking. 5. If the keywords exist in research but were never added to tracking, add them to your rank tracker from that view so they begin collecting position data. 6. Refresh the page after making changes, since cached views can briefly still show an empty state after a filter or project switch. โœ… How to Confirm It Worked You've resolved the issue when your keyword list displays populated columns such as position, search volume, or trend data. If the list is populated but numbers show as pending, allow one tracking cycle for fresh data to appear โ€” an empty list after these checks means the keywords may need to be re-added rather than simply revealed. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ”ง Fix Site Explorer Keyword Sorting Issues

Overview Some customers have reported that the keyword sort feature on the Site Explorer Keywords page does not respond as expected โ€” columns may not sort correctly or sorting may appear unresponsive. This article explains what to do if you experience this problem. What Was Fixed Our engineering team has identified and resolved an issue with the keyword sort feature in Site Explorer not working as expected. If you encountered sorting problems previously, these should now be resolved after a page refresh. How to Sort Keywords in Site Explorer Follow these steps to sort keywords correctly: 1. Navigate to Site Explorer and enter the domain or URL you want to analyse. 2. Locate the keywords table and click any column header to sort the table by that column. 3. Click the same header again to toggle between ascending and descending order. Troubleshooting Steps If keyword sorting still does not work as expected, try the following before contacting support: - Hard-refresh the page: Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to clear cached scripts and reload the latest version of the platform. - Clear browser cache: Go to your browser settings and clear cached images and files, then reload the page. - Try a different browser: Test in a second browser (e.g. Chrome or Firefox) to rule out a browser-specific conflict. - Disable browser extensions: Ad blockers or script managers can sometimes interfere with table interactions. Temporarily disable them and retry. What to Include When Reporting a Sorting Issue If the problem persists after following the steps above, providing detailed information helps our team investigate faster. Please have the following ready: the domain or URL you were analysing, the exact column you attempted to sort, a description of what happened (e.g. no response, incorrect order), and the browser and operating system you are using. ๐Ÿ“Š Refunds After Ranking Declines

๐Ÿ” Understand ranking changes Search rankings can change because of algorithm updates, competitor activity, technical issues, content changes, location, and search personalization. Using Search Atlas does not guarantee a specific ranking or traffic result. A decline alone does not automatically qualify an account for a refund. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Check a failed project reset Before requesting a refund, confirm that the reset completed and that you are viewing the correct project, domain, location, and date range. A reset may remove or restart project data and does not restore lost rankings or reverse changes already made on your website. 1. Open Home from the left sidebar and select the relevant project. 2. Review the project status, recent activity, and ranking dates. 3. Compare rankings before and after the decline using the same keywords, search engine, device, and location. 4. Save screenshots or exports showing the error, reset attempt, affected project, and relevant dates. ๐Ÿ’ณ Request a refund review Refund requests are reviewed according to your agreement, billing terms, purchase type, usage, and the specific circumstances. Include the invoice numbers, project name, reset error, dates, affected features, and the resolution you are requesting. If the issue involves unused quota or a failed operation, mention that clearly so the team can check whether an adjustment or quota restoration applies. Do not delete the project while an investigation is pending. Deleted projects may limit access to historical data and make troubleshooting more difficult. ๐Ÿ“ˆ Provide ranking evidence - Keyword, search engine, country, city, language, and device - Dates and screenshots showing the change - Project URL or domain and the affected campaign - Recent website, content, technical, or backlink changes - Details of any reset attempt, including error messages and timestamps ๐Ÿ’ฌ Contact the support team If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Troubleshooting Missing Keyword Data Access

This article addresses a specific issue where keyword data appears missing or completely invisible inside the platform โ€” even though your account is active and payment has been confirmed. This is not a billing problem. The steps below outline general checks you can perform to help identify the cause. If they do not resolve the issue, contacting support directly is the fastest path to a fix. General Checks to Try 1. Confirm you are in the correct project. Keyword data is typically project-specific. Make sure you have the right project open for the domain or campaign you are trying to review. Switching to the correct project may immediately restore your data view. 2. Clear your browser cache and reload. A stale cache can prevent data from rendering correctly. Clear your browser cache, close the tab, and reopen the platform fresh. 3. Try a different browser or incognito window. If data appears in a private or incognito session, a browser extension or cached session may be interfering. Try disabling extensions and reloading in your main browser. 4. Check your plan access. Some keyword tools may be restricted to specific subscription tiers. Review your current plan in your account settings to confirm keyword features are included. 5. Check team or seat permissions. If your account is part of a team workspace, ask your workspace admin to verify that your seat has access to keyword tools. Restricted roles may suppress data visibility without showing an explicit error. If the Issue Persists If none of the steps above restore your keyword data, the issue likely requires investigation by the support team. When reaching out, please have the following ready: - The name of the project or domain where keyword data is missing - The specific tool or section where data is not appearing - Any error messages or unusual behavior you have noticed, along with the approximate time it started If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ” Fix Stale Keyword Data and Request Trial Extension

๐Ÿงญ Overview If your Organic Keyword Position History appears stuck on an old date โ€” for example, showing data only up to October 2024 โ€” this indicates a data refresh issue on your account. This guide explains how to identify the problem, what to do about it, and how to request a trial extension so your evaluation time is not affected. ๐Ÿ”Ž How to Check Your Keyword Position Data Before contacting support, confirm whether your data is stale by following these steps: 1. Navigate to your keyword position history or rank tracking section in the platform. 2. Review the date shown on your most recent keyword position update. 3. If the date has not changed for several days or appears stuck on an older month, your account may be affected by a data refresh issue. โš ๏ธ What Causes Stale Keyword Position Data Keyword position history can occasionally fall behind due to a data refresh issue affecting your account. This is not caused by anything you did. Our team can identify and resolve the root cause once you report it. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Report the Issue and Request a Trial Extension If you confirm your keyword position history is outdated, contact our support team so we can investigate and restore accurate data. When you reach out, be ready to provide: - The domain you are tracking. - The last date shown in your position history. - The approximate date range during which your data appeared stale, so our team can assess how much of your trial was affected. ๐Ÿ“ Fix Rank Tracker Local Pack Toggle Not Saving

๐Ÿ” What Is This Issue? In the Rank Tracker, there is a Track Local Pack toggle within the keyword settings. Some customers find that toggling this option off does not persist โ€” when the setting is closed and reopened, it has reverted to its previous state. This is a known platform issue and a fix is actively in development. โš ๏ธ Who Is Affected? - Rank Tracker users who want to disable Local Pack tracking for specific keywords and switch to standard organic tracking ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Current Workaround While a permanent fix is being developed, follow these steps to manage your Local Pack tracking as effectively as possible: 1. Do not rely on the toggle to persist. Closing and reopening the setting will reset any change you made to the Track Local Pack toggle. 2. Check your keyword tracking type after reopening the setting. If the toggle has reset, assume the change was not saved. 3. Re-add keywords if needed. If keywords are not tracking under the expected type, removing and re-adding those keywords may allow them to pick up the correct tracking setting. Before doing this, note down the keywords so nothing is lost. ๐Ÿ“‹ What to Expect Next The engineering team has this issue logged and a fix is actively in development. When the fix is released, changes to the Track Local Pack toggle will be saved and retained correctly. No action is needed from you to receive this fix โ€” it will be applied to your account automatically when released. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips for Local Pack Tracking - If you are unsure whether your keywords are being tracked correctly, review the tracking type shown for each keyword in Rank Tracker. โณ Keyword List Upload Processing Delay Explained

Why Your Keyword List May Still Be Loading After uploading a keyword list in Search Atlas, it is normal to see a processing delay before your data appears. This is not an error โ€” the platform is actively working to retrieve and calculate metrics for every keyword you submitted. The larger your list, the more time this takes. What to Do While You Wait If your keyword list is still loading after you uploaded it, try the following steps: 1. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the page to check whether processing has completed. 2. Do not re-upload the same list. Uploading duplicates will not speed up processing and may create duplicate lists in your account. 3. If the list still does not appear after an extended wait, check that your file was correctly formatted before uploading. Common issues include unsupported file types, extra columns or headers, and special characters within the keyword list. 4. If the formatting looks correct and the list still has not loaded, please reach out to our support team for investigation. When to Escalate If your keyword list has not finished processing after a significant wait and your file appears to be correctly formatted, there may be a platform-side issue that requires investigation. When contacting support, please have the following ready: - The name of the keyword list you uploaded - The approximate time you uploaded it - A description of any error message or status you see on screen - A copy of the file you attempted to upload, if possible If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.

๐Ÿ“Š Rank Tracker Showing Zero Search Volume Explained

๐Ÿ” Overview If you notice that a keyword in your Rank Tracker displays a search volume of 0, this is a known discrepancy that our team is aware of. This article explains what to expect and what information to have ready if you need to escalate. โš™๏ธ Why the Discrepancy Happens A keyword showing 0 search volume in Rank Tracker does not necessarily mean the keyword has no searches. This is a known data discrepancy that has been identified by our team. Because this is a bug category issue, there is no self-serve workaround available at this time โ€” resolution requires action on the backend. โœ… Are the Rankings Accurate? Your ranking positions may still be recorded correctly even when search volume displays as 0. The position value and the search volume figure can behave independently, so a keyword showing 0 volume does not automatically mean your ranking data is wrong. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What to Do If You See This Issue If you are experiencing this discrepancy, please gather the following information before contacting support so our team can investigate as quickly as possible: - The exact keyword(s) showing 0 search volume in Rank Tracker - The project name the keyword belongs to - A screenshot of the Rank Tracker view showing the 0 volume for the affected keyword(s) - Approximately when you first noticed the discrepancy Having these details ready will allow our support team to locate the affected data and investigate the root cause efficiently. ๐Ÿ” Keyword Magic Location Settings

๐Ÿ“ How location targeting works Keyword Magic lets you research keywords for a specific geographic location. You can enter a location such as a state, city, or country before starting your search. The selected location determines the market used for the keyword results. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Select a specific location 1. Open Keywords from the left sidebar. 2. Select Keyword Magic. 3. Enter your seed keyword. 4. In the location field, enter and select the location you need, such as Utah. 5. Confirm that the selected location is displayed before clicking Search. ๐Ÿ”Ž If results show the United States If the results display the general United States location, the search may have used the default location instead of the specific location you intended. Return to Keywords โ†’ Keyword Magic, enter the location again, select the matching suggestion, and start a new search. - Make sure you select the location from the suggested options rather than only typing its name. - Check the location shown in the search controls before searching. - Start a new search after changing the location; previously loaded results may retain the original market. โœ… Confirm the search location Review the location shown with the search or results before using the keyword data. If it shows Utah, the results are targeted to that location. If it shows United States, repeat the search with the specific location selected. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need help? ๐Ÿ” Fixing Rank Tracker Mismatches and Stale Heatmaps

You added keywords from the organic ranking list to the Rank Tracker, but many show as Not Ranking. Or you updated a heatmap and the platform still shows an older version. Both issues are common and usually have simple causes. This article explains why they happen and how to fix them. ๐Ÿ”Ž Why Rank Tracker Can Differ From the Organic List The organic ranking list and the Rank Tracker are two different tools that collect data in different ways. Because of this, the same keyword can show different results in each. - Organic list: shows keywords your site was found ranking for, based on previously collected search data. It reflects a snapshot from a point in time. - Rank Tracker: checks a specific keyword against your chosen settings (location, device, language and search engine) and looks for your exact domain or URL in the results. If any of those settings differ from the data behind the organic list, a keyword can appear as Not Ranking even though you rank for it elsewhere. โš™๏ธ Common Reasons Keywords Show as Not Ranking - Location mismatch: the organic list may reflect a country-level view, while your tracker is set to a city or region. Rankings can change a lot between locations. - Device mismatch: a keyword may rank on desktop but not on mobile, or the reverse. - Language or search engine differences: tracking in a different language or search engine than the original data can change results. - Domain or URL mismatch: the tracker may be set up for www while your rankings are on the non-www version, or on a subdomain. Check that the tracked domain matches the live version of your site. - Ranking beyond the tracking depth: if a page ranks below the number of results the tracker checks, it will show as not ranking. - First check still pending: newly added keywords may not have completed their first scan yet. Early results can be empty or incomplete. - Natural ranking changes: rankings move daily. A keyword in the organic list may have dropped out of the results by the time the tracker checks it. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Fix Keywords Showing as Not Ranking 1. Open your Rank Tracker project and review its settings: domain, location, device, language and search engine. 2. Compare them with the settings you use when viewing the organic list. Update the tracker so they match. 3. Confirm the tracked domain matches the version of your site that appears in search results (www vs non-www, http vs https, subdomains). 4. Wait for the next scheduled update, or trigger a manual refresh if the option is available, so the keywords are checked again with the corrected settings. 5. Search the keyword yourself in a private or incognito browser window, using the same location and device. This helps you confirm whether your page is really visible for it. 6. If a keyword is still not ranking, check whether it ranks lower than the tracking depth. If so, it is not a tracking error. The page simply needs more optimization to climb. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Why a Heatmap May Look Out of Date Heatmaps are built from a scan of a location grid for a specific keyword. After you update or rerun one, the old version can still appear for a few reasons: - The scan is still processing: larger grids take longer. Until it finishes, the previous results may stay on screen. - Browser cache: your browser may be holding on to the earlier version of the page. - Different date or version selected: the view may be set to an earlier scan date rather than the latest one. - Different keyword, location or grid: a new scan with changed settings is saved as its own result. You may be looking at the earlier one. ๐Ÿ”„ How to Refresh a Heatmap 1. Wait a few minutes after starting the update, especially for large grids or many keywords. 2. Reload the page with a hard refresh. On Windows use Ctrl + F5. On Mac use Cmd + Shift + R. 3. Check the scan date shown on the heatmap and select the most recent one. 4. Confirm the keyword, business location and grid size match the scan you just ran. 5. If it still looks old, log out and back in, or open the platform in a private window to rule out browser cache. 6. Try a different browser or disable extensions that might block updated content. โœ… Tips to Prevent These Issues - Set up your Rank Tracker with the same location, device and language you care about before adding keywords. - Add keywords in small batches first and check that the early results look reasonable. - Give new keywords time to complete their first check before judging the results. - Treat the organic list as a guide for finding opportunities, and the Rank Tracker as your source for ongoing, settings-specific monitoring. - Always check the scan date on a heatmap before comparing it with earlier results. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Still Need Help? If keywords still show as not ranking after matching your settings, or your heatmap still will not update, our team can take a closer look. Please have your project name, the keywords affected and the heatmap location ready. ๐Ÿ” Find Missing Keyword Lists

๐Ÿ” What to check first If a keyword list does not appear after creation, do not recreate it immediately. The list may still be loading, may have been saved under another project or site, or may not have finished saving. ๐Ÿ“‹ Check your keyword lists 1. Open Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research from the left sidebar. 2. Open the Keyword lists tab. 3. Use Search List to search for the list name, a distinctive keyword, or part of the list. 4. Refresh the page and check again after a few moments. ๐Ÿ•˜ Review keyword research history If the list is not visible, open Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research โ†’ History. Select Search History or View to find the search that produced the keywords. From there, check whether the results can be viewed or saved to a list. ๐Ÿข Confirm the workspace and project Keyword lists are associated with the workspace, project, client, or site where they were created. Confirm that you are viewing the same workspace and project used during creation. If you manage multiple clients or sites, switch to each relevant project and check Keywords โ†’ Keyword Research โ†’ Keyword lists again. ๐Ÿ’ณ Check before creating the list again Before repeating the search or creating another list, confirm whether your quota points were deducted in the original workspace or project. If the search appears in history or quota usage shows a deduction, avoid repeating the action until the original list is located. This helps prevent duplicate lists and possible duplicate usage. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ When the list still cannot be found Record the list size, approximate creation time, list name, keywords or search terms, workspace, client, site, and project. Also note whether quota points were deducted and include screenshots if available. This information helps identify whether the issue is related to loading, account scope, or list persistence. ๐Ÿ” Fix Topical Map Seed Keywords Not Updating

๐Ÿ“Œ Overview After a site migration, rebrand, or Brand Vault update, you may notice that your Topical Map still shows the old seed keywords. Clicking refresh may not change anything. This article explains why that happens and what you can do to get your Topical Map working from your new information. ๐Ÿค” Why This Happens Seed keywords are the starting terms a Topical Map uses to build your topics and subtopics. In most cases, a Topical Map takes its seed keywords from your business details at the time the map is created. This means: - Existing maps may keep their original seeds. Updating your Brand Vault changes what is saved for future use, but it may not rewrite a map that already exists. - Refreshing the page only reloads what is saved. It does not necessarily pull new seed keywords from your Brand Vault. - A site migration can leave old details behind. If your project still points to the old domain, or the Brand Vault still describes your old site, the old keywords can keep appearing. - Browser caching can show old data. Sometimes the update was saved, but your browser is still showing an older version of the page. โœ… Step 1: Confirm Your Brand Vault Changes Were Saved Before anything else, make sure your updates were actually stored. 1. Open your Brand Vault from the platform. 2. Check that your business description, products or services, and website details reflect your new site. 3. Save your changes if there is a save or update button. 4. Leave the page, then return to it to confirm the new details are still there. ๐ŸŒ Step 2: Check Your Project and Domain Details If you moved to a new domain or changed your site structure, confirm the platform is pointing to the right place. 1. Open your project settings and look at the website URL. 2. Make sure it matches your current live site, including the correct domain and version (for example, with or without www, and https). 3. If the old domain is still listed, update it or set up a new project for the new domain. If your domain changed completely, starting a fresh project for the new site is often the cleanest option. It prevents old data from carrying over. ๐Ÿ”„ Step 3: Clear Your Browser Cache and Reload This quick step rules out a display issue. 1. Do a hard refresh of the page. On Windows, press Ctrl + Shift + R. On Mac, press Cmd + Shift + R. 2. If nothing changes, log out and log back in. 3. Try opening the platform in a private or incognito window. If the new seed keywords appear in the private window, clearing your regular browser cache should fix the issue. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Step 4: Create a New Topical Map If your Brand Vault and project details are correct but the map still shows old seed keywords, the existing map is likely locked to its original seeds. The most reliable fix is to build a new one. 1. Go to the Topical Map tool. 2. Start a new Topical Map for your updated project. 3. Review the seed keywords shown at the start. They should now reflect your updated Brand Vault. 4. If you can edit the seed keywords manually, add or replace any that look outdated. 5. Generate the map and review the results. Keep your old map until you are happy with the new one. You can compare the two and remove the old map when you no longer need it. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips for a Smoother Experience After a Migration - Update your Brand Vault first. Do this before creating any new Topical Map so the correct details are picked up from the start. - Use specific business descriptions. Clear details about your products, services, and audience lead to more relevant seed keywords. - Avoid mixing old and new brand names. If you rebranded, make sure the old name does not appear in your descriptions. - Name your maps clearly. Adding a date or version, such as the month of your migration, makes it easy to tell old maps from new ones. ๐Ÿงพ What to Share If You Still Need Help If the seed keywords still do not update after the steps above, gathering a few details will help our team resolve it faster: - The name of your project and the domain it uses - The old domain and the new domain, if you migrated - The name of the Topical Map that is showing outdated seed keywords - The seed keywords you expected to see and the ones that appear instead - A screenshot of your Brand Vault and the Topical Map seed keywords screen ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need More Help? ๐Ÿ” Fixing 'No Impressions' by Selecting Your Domain Property

If a page in Dynamic Indexing is marked No Impressions, the cause is not always a problem with the page. Often the OTTO project is reading data from a different Google Search Console (GSC) property than the one that holds your page's data. This article explains how that happens, how to check which property is in use, and how to switch to your Domain property. โ“ What 'No Impressions' Means Dynamic Indexing uses Google Search Console data to see whether a page has appeared in Google search results. No Impressions means that the connected GSC property reported no impressions for that page in the period checked. There are two common reasons: - The page really has no impressions yet. It may be new, not yet indexed, or not ranking for any searches. - The data is being read from the wrong property. The page may have impressions in GSC, but under a property the project is not connected to. ๐ŸŒ Domain Property vs. URL-Prefix Property Google Search Console offers two types of properties, and the difference matters here. - Domain property: Covers every version of your site, including http and https, www and non-www, and all subdomains. It appears in GSC as sc-domain:yourdomain.com. - URL-prefix property: Covers only URLs that start with the exact address you entered, such as https://www.yourdomain.com/. Pages on other versions of your site are not included. If your OTTO project is connected to a URL-prefix property, any page outside that exact prefix can show No Impressions, even if it performs well in Google. The Domain property avoids this because it combines all versions of your site into one set of data. ๐Ÿงญ Which Property Dynamic Indexing Uses Dynamic Indexing uses the GSC property that is connected to your OTTO project. It does not choose a property on its own. To see which one is connected: 1. Open your OTTO project in Search Atlas. 2. Go to the project's Google Search Console connection or integration settings. 3. Look at the property name shown there. If it starts with sc-domain:, the Domain property is already in use. If it starts with http:// or https://, it is a URL-prefix property. Menu labels may differ slightly depending on your platform version. โœ… Before You Switch: Confirm You Have a Domain Property You can only select a Domain property if it exists in your Google account and your account has access to it. To check: 1. Sign in to Google Search Console with the same Google account you use in Search Atlas. 2. Open the property dropdown at the top left. 3. Look for an entry that shows your domain without https://, for example yourdomain.com. If you do not see one, add it in GSC by choosing Add property and then Domain. Google will ask you to verify ownership by adding a DNS record with your domain provider. Verification can take a few minutes to a few hours. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How to Select the Domain Property for Your OTTO Project 1. Open your OTTO project in Search Atlas. 2. Open the Google Search Console connection settings for the project. 3. If prompted, reconnect using the Google account that has access to your Domain property, and grant the requested permissions. 4. From the list of available properties, select your Domain property (the one that starts with sc-domain:). 5. Save your changes. 6. Return to Dynamic Indexing and refresh the results. After you switch, the data may take a short time to update. Pages that had impressions in GSC should stop showing No Impressions once the new data has loaded. โฑ๏ธ If Pages Still Show 'No Impressions' If the Domain property is selected and a page still shows No Impressions, check the following: - Data delay: GSC data can lag by a couple of days, and new connections can take longer to populate. - New or recently updated pages: A page needs to be indexed and shown in search before it can record impressions. - Indexing status: In GSC, use the URL Inspection tool to confirm Google has indexed the page. - Permissions: The Google account connected to Search Atlas must have access to the Domain property. Owner or full user access works best. - Date range: Make sure the date range you are viewing matches the period when the page would have appeared in search. - Actual performance: In GSC, open Performance and filter by the page URL to confirm whether impressions exist. ๐Ÿ’ก Tips to Avoid This in the Future - Use a Domain property whenever possible, especially if your site is available on more than one version or subdomain. - Connect Search Atlas with the Google account that owns or manages your GSC properties. - Recheck the connected property if you change your domain setup, add subdomains, or move to https. - Refresh Dynamic Indexing results after any change to your GSC connection. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Need Help With Property Mapping? If the Domain property does not appear in the list, the selection will not save, or the results still look wrong after a refresh, our team can inspect which property is mapped to your OTTO project. Have your domain name and an example page URL ready. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be instantly connected with a member of our team.
