👣 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Starting a Keyword Search

  1. Go to Keywords → Keyword Research (Explore Thousands of Keywords).
  2. Enter your term into the Search field.
  3. Select a Location (city, state, or country) where the search will be performed.

2. Viewing Keyword Results

Your results will display under Keywords → Keyword Research (History tab), with the following fields:

  • Search Date → Date the search was performed.

  • Keyword → Includes the entered keyword plus variations (exact matches, broad matches, and related forms).

  • Search Intent → Categorized as:

    • Navigational → Searching for a specific website.
    • Informational → Searching for general information.
    • Commercial → Comparing products/services.
    • Transactional → Searching for a specific product/brand.
  • SV (Search Volume) → Average monthly searches (12-month average).

  • KD (Keyword Difficulty) → Competitiveness on a scale of 1–100 (higher = harder).

  • CPC (Cost per Click) → Avg. USD cost advertisers pay per click (Google Ads data).

  • PPCD (PPC Difficulty) → Competition level for paid keywords, scored 0–100 (higher = more competitive).

  • Updated → Date the keyword metrics were last refreshed; data is typically updated on a monthly cadence.

💡 You can sort SV, KD, and CPC in ascending or descending order.

3. Exporting Results

  • Use the Export option to download results into a .csv file.

4. Adding Keywords to Keyword Lists

  1. Select the keywords you want to save.

  2. Click + Add to → Keyword List.

  3. Choose an existing list or create a new one:

    • Enter the Name
    • Select Country
    • Click Create List
  4. Your list will now appear in the Keyword Research tool.

5. Adding Keywords to Keyword Rank Tracker

  1. Select the keywords you want to track.
  2. Click the Add to button (tooltip: 'Add [keyword] to a keyword list or Rank Tracker') and choose Rank Tracker.
  3. Choose the Project where you want them added.
  4. Select the Country.
  5. Keywords will now appear in the Keyword Rank Tracker tool for that projec

💡 CPC parity: CPC data from the Keyword Magic Tool carries through to the rank tracker keywords-details view, so you'll see the same CPC values in KRT.

💡 Sorting in KRT: Once your keywords are in the Keyword Rank Tracker, you can sort the keywords-details view by previous_position as well as by average position delta (avg_position_delta)—useful for spotting ranking trends after keyword discovery.
