🗺️ Overview

Connecting your website to Search Atlas unlocks site tracking, rank monitoring, and on-page optimization tools. This guide walks you through every step: installing the WordPress plugin, locating your credentials, and completing the connection inside Search Atlas.

📋 Before You Begin

  • You have an active Search Atlas account and are logged in.
  • You have admin access to your WordPress dashboard.
  • Your website is live and publicly accessible.

⚙️ Step 1 — Add Your Website in Search Atlas

  1. In the left sidebar, click Site Metrics (Site Explorer).
  2. On the Site Explorer page, click Add New Website or the + button.
  3. Enter your full website URL (e.g., https://yoursite.com) and click Save.
  4. Your new website will appear in the list. Click on it to open the site dashboard.

🔑 Step 2 — Locate Your API Key and UUID

  1. Click your account avatar or profile icon in the top-right corner of the platform.
  2. Go to Account Settings or Integrations.
  3. Find the API Key and your website's UUID. The UUID is unique to each connected website.
  4. Copy both values — you will paste them into the WordPress plugin in the next step. Keep this tab open for reference.

🛠️ Step 3 — Install the Search Atlas WordPress Plugin

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard (yoursite.com/wp-admin).
  2. In the left menu, go to Plugins → Add New.
  3. In the search bar, type Search Atlas and press Enter.
  4. Locate the official Search Atlas plugin in the results and click Install Now.
  5. Once installed, click Activate to enable the plugin.

🔗 Step 4 — Configure the Plugin with Your API Key and UUID

  1. After activation, a Search Atlas menu item will appear in your WordPress left sidebar. Click it.
  2. In the plugin settings page, paste your API Key into the API Key field.
  3. Paste your website's UUID into the UUID field.
  4. Click Save Settings or Connect to finalize the link.
  5. A success confirmation message will appear when the connection is established.

✅ Step 5 — Verify the Connection in Search Atlas

  1. Return to your Search Atlas account and navigate to Site Metrics (Site Explorer) in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on your website in the list to open its dashboard.
  3. You should see data beginning to populate. Note that some metrics — such as rank tracking — may take up to 24 hours to display fully.

💡 Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Plugin not visible after activation? Try clearing your WordPress cache and refreshing the admin page.
  • Connection error? Double-check that your API Key and UUID are copied correctly with no extra spaces.
  • UUID not found? Each website you add to Search Atlas has its own UUID. Make sure you are copying the UUID for the specific site you are connecting — not a different property.
  • Website behind a firewall or password protection? Temporarily allow external access during setup, then re-apply restrictions after the connection is confirmed.
