🗺️ Overview
To use bulk indexing in Search Atlas, you must first complete the Google Search Console (GSC) OAuth activation. Bulk indexing features only become available after a successful GSC connection. This article explains what is required at each stage so you can self-serve or escalate effectively.
✅ Prerequisites
- A Google account with Owner or Full User permissions on the GSC property you want to connect.
- An active Search Atlas account with at least one project created.
- Pop-ups allowed in your browser for the OAuth consent screen.
🔐 Step 1: Activate Your GSC Connection
Navigate to the GSC integration area within your Search Atlas account settings. From there, initiate the Google OAuth flow by choosing the Google account that has access to your GSC properties, then grant Search Atlas the requested permissions to read your GSC data. Once the OAuth flow completes successfully, your GSC connection will be confirmed on the settings page.
Important: If the OAuth pop-up does not open, check that your browser is not blocking pop-ups for the Search Atlas domain, then try initiating the connection again.
📂 Step 2: Sync Your GSC Projects
After your GSC connection is confirmed, trigger a property sync from the integration settings. Search Atlas will import all GSC properties associated with your connected Google account. Once the sync completes, your imported properties will be available to link to your Search Atlas projects.
If a property you expect is missing, verify that the connected Google account holds Owner or Full User access to that property directly in Google Search Console, then run the sync again.
📊 Step 3: Access Bulk Indexing Features
Bulk indexing becomes available only after at least one GSC property is successfully connected and synced. If you attempt to access bulk indexing before completing Steps 1 and 2, you will be prompted to connect GSC first. Once your GSC property is linked to a project, navigate to the bulk indexing section of that project to begin submitting URLs for indexing.
🛠️ If You Get Stuck
If your GSC connection is not completing, your properties are not appearing after a sync, or bulk indexing features remain unavailable after following the steps above, please have the following ready when you reach out:
- The Google account email used for the OAuth connection
- The GSC property URL(s) you are trying to connect
- A description of where in the process you are getting stuck (e.g., OAuth pop-up not appearing, sync completing but properties missing, bulk indexing section not unlocking)
- Any error messages displayed on screen
