🎯 What the GHL connector does

The GoHighLevel (GHL) connector lets Search Atlas publish and manage blog content in your GHL account. It requires permission to create or update posts, read existing posts, check slugs, and access blog categories and authors.

🔧 Install the connector

  1. Sign in to Search Atlas.
  2. Open the project where you want to connect GHL.
  3. Open the GHL connector installation or integrations flow.
  4. Sign in to your GHL account when prompted.
  5. Select the correct GHL location or sub-account.
  6. Review the requested permissions and approve the connection.
  7. Return to Search Atlas and confirm that the connector shows as connected.

🔐 Required permissions

Depending on your GHL account version, the permission names may differ from the names shown in Search Atlas documentation. Grant the permissions that match these capabilities:

  • Create Blog Post: create new blog posts.
  • Update Blog Post: update existing blog posts.
  • Check Blog Post Slug: check whether a blog slug is available.
  • View Blog Post Categories: read blog categories.
  • View Blog Authors: read blog authors.
  • blogspostreadonly: read existing posts.
  • blogslistreadonly: list available posts.

🧩 If the scopes are missing

Some GHL accounts do not display these exact scope names in Private Integrations. This is expected when GHL presents permissions using newer labels, grouped permissions, or a different app type.

  1. Check that you are creating or authorising the connector in the correct GHL location, not only at the agency level.
  2. Look for grouped permissions related to blogs, posts, content, authors, categories, or read and write access.
  3. Select the closest available permissions that allow both reading and writing blog posts.
  4. Save the integration, then restart the Search Atlas connection flow.
  5. If no blog-related permission is available, ask a GHL account administrator to review your user role and location permissions.

✅ Confirm the connection

After installation, verify that Search Atlas can select the intended GHL location and access blog posts, categories, and authors. A successful connection should allow Search Atlas to create or update a test post without a permission error.

🛠️ Troubleshoot connection errors

  • Confirm that the correct GHL location is selected.
  • Reconnect the integration after changing permissions.
  • Make sure the GHL user approving access has administrator rights or equivalent integration permissions.
  • Remove an incomplete or duplicate private integration before trying again.
  • Check that the connector is connected to the same Search Atlas project you are using for publishing.
