🔍 Why the score changes

Content Genius recalculates the score whenever you add or remove words. The score reflects how closely your content matches the current recommendations for the topic, including coverage, relevance, and content length.

Because the score is calculated from the complete draft, even a small edit can change the result. Adding a relevant term may improve coverage, while removing a word or section may reduce it. In some cases, removing unnecessary text can also improve the score by making the content more focused.

📈 What the score means

The score is a guidance indicator, not a permanent rating or a guarantee of search performance. It is designed to help you identify opportunities while writing and should be considered alongside accuracy, clarity, search intent, and the quality of the reader’s experience.

✍️ How to improve your content

  1. Open Content → Content Genius from the left sidebar.
  2. Choose an existing workflow or select Write it yourself to edit your draft.
  3. Review the recommendations and add information only when it is useful and relevant.
  4. Remove repetition, filler, or content that does not support the topic.
  5. Recheck the score after meaningful edits, then review the article as a reader before publishing.

✅ Best practices

  • Do not add words solely to increase the score.
  • Prioritize helpful, accurate, naturally written content.
  • Use recommendations as suggestions rather than strict requirements.
  • Expect the score to move as your draft changes; this is normal behavior.
  • Compare changes after editing a complete section instead of reacting to every small score movement.

🛠️ When to contact support

If the score does not update after a completed edit, behaves inconsistently, or appears unrelated to the content, note the project, article, and changes you made. If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be instantly connected with a member of our team.
