💡 What editorial review covers
Editorial review is an optional quality check on a blog before it is finalized. A reviewer looks at clarity, structure, accuracy, brand fit, and basic SEO readiness so the draft is closer to publishable.
The review is billed per blog. Customers commonly see this as $10 per blog. That amount is not a separate support surcharge. It is the fee for human review of that specific piece.
💰 Why the fee is required
Generating a draft and reviewing it are different services. Review takes editor time for each article, including reading the full draft, correcting issues, and confirming the piece meets your brief.
- Per blog: each article is reviewed on its own, so each one carries its own fee.
- Not included by default: standard content credits cover creation, not the extra editor pass, unless your plan states otherwise.
- You choose it: the fee applies only when editorial review is selected for that blog.
📊 How credit reduction works
When editorial review is applied, the $10 fee reduces your available credits for that blog. The reduction posts against the same credit balance you use for content, rather than as a separate invoice line in most accounts.
- You request or enable editorial review on a blog.
- The platform reserves or deducts $10 in credits for that blog.
- Your remaining credit balance drops by that amount once the review is confirmed.
- The blog and the credit activity both reflect the editorial review charge.
If a review is not completed because it was canceled before work started, the credit reduction should not remain. Completed reviews are not refunded, because the editor time has already been used.
🛠️ How to check a reduction
If a balance looks lower than expected, match the blog to the credit entry before opening a case.
- Open the blog that was reviewed and confirm editorial review was selected.
- Check the credit or billing activity for a $10 reduction tied to that blog.
- Compare the date of the reduction with the date the review was requested.
- Repeat for each blog if several reviews were ordered in the same period.
A drop of $10 per reviewed blog is expected. Larger drops usually mean more than one blog was reviewed.
✅ How to control the cost
Leave editorial review off for blogs that do not need a human pass. Turn it on only for pieces that require extra quality control. Reviewing every blog will reduce credits by $10 each.
