After you upload a file to Brand Vault and processing completes, you can ask questions about that file's content directly inside a Content Genius conversation. Brand Vault files are not queried from the Brand Vault library page itself — you access them through Content Genius.
✅ Requirements Before Querying a File
Confirm each of the following before you start:
- The file is uploaded to Brand Vault.
- The file status shows as processed and ready — not Processing or Pending.
- You have an active Content Genius session.
💡 How to Ask Questions from a Processed Brand Vault File
- Open Content Genius and start a new conversation.
- In the conversation input area, click the Brand Vault attachment option.
- Select the processed file you want to query from your Brand Vault library.
- Type your question in the chat input and press Enter.
Content Genius reads the selected file and responds based on its content. Your answer appears in the conversation thread directly below your question.
⚠️ File Still Shows as Processing
You cannot query a file until processing is complete. If the file status still shows Processing or Pending, wait a few moments and refresh the page. Processing time depends on file size. Once the status updates to ready, return to Content Genius and select the file to begin querying.
🛠️ Troubleshooting: Processed File Not Returning Answers
If your file shows as processed but Content Genius is not generating answers from its content, try the following steps in order:
- Refresh the page and re-open your Content Genius conversation.
- Start a fresh conversation and re-attach the Brand Vault file before submitting your question.
- Confirm the file format is supported — PDF, DOCX, and plain text files are compatible.
- Verify you explicitly selected the file from Brand Vault in the conversation before sending your question, rather than referencing it by name in the chat input.
If the issue continues after trying these steps, contact Search Atlas support and include the file name and the exact question you entered.
