🔍 Overview
The option to delete a section in the Report Builder is available — it just lives in a specific place that can be easy to miss. This article walks you through exactly how to find it and remove any section you no longer need.
🗺️ Where to Find the Report Builder
To open your reports, go to the left sidebar and click Reports. This takes you to your projects list, where you can open an existing report or create a new one.
🗑️ How to Delete a Section in Report Builder
- From the left sidebar, click Reports to open your projects list.
- Open the report you want to edit by clicking on its name.
- Inside the report editor (Executive Summary), click the Edit layout button.
- In the Layout tab, find the section you want to remove. Hover over that section to reveal its controls.
- Click the trash can icon that appears on the section. This icon is only visible on hover, so it will not be visible until your cursor is positioned over the section.
- Confirm the deletion if prompted. The section will be permanently removed from your report layout.
⚠️ Important Things to Know
- The trash can icon is hover-activated. If you do not see it, move your cursor directly over the section block in the Layout tab.
- The delete control is only available inside the Layout tab. It does not appear in other tabs of the Report Builder.
- Deleting a section removes it and all widgets contained within it. This action cannot be undone, so make sure you no longer need the section's content before confirming.
- If a section appears locked or the icon does not respond, check that you have the correct editing permissions for that report.

- You are in the Layout tab — not the Content, Design, or any other tab.
- Your cursor is hovering directly over the section you want to delete.
- You have editor-level access to the report.
