🔍 Why the Edit Button Isn't Visible

The Executive Summary section in the classic Report Builder does not display its editing controls by default. The text edit buttons (Edit layout, Edit Key Insights, Edit Next Steps, Edit Recommended Actions) are intentionally hidden until you interact with the section — they only appear when you hover your cursor directly over the Executive Summary block.

🛠️ How to Edit the Executive Summary

  1. From the left sidebar, navigate to Home → searchatlas.com (Executive Summary).
  2. Open the report you want to modify inside the classic Report Builder.
  3. Scroll to the Executive Summary section of your report.
  4. Hover your cursor over the Executive Summary block — the edit controls will appear.
  5. Click the appropriate text edit button (Edit layout, Edit Key Insights, Edit Next Steps, or Edit Recommended Actions) that becomes visible.
  6. Remove or adjust any out-of-scope items as needed.
  7. Use Refresh Summary or Edit layout to apply your changes.

⚠️ If the Edit Option Still Doesn't Appear

If hovering over the section does not reveal any edit controls, check the following:

  • Account permissions: Editing controls are only available to users with Editor or Admin permissions. View-only accounts will not see any edit options.
  • Hard refresh the page: Interactive elements may occasionally fail to load correctly. Try a hard refresh — press Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac — then attempt to hover over the section again.
  • Confirm you are in the correct view: Editing is only available inside the classic Report Builder. If you are viewing a shared or published version of the report, all editing controls will be hidden regardless of your permissions.
