🔍 What Causes the Widget Title Error
When you try to edit a widget title in Report Builder — for example, changing the business name in brackets to identify which Google Business Profile (GBP) a widget tracks — you may see a validation error when saving. The most common symptom is a misleading date range validation message that appears even when your date settings are correct.
This is a known issue that affects the Classic View of Report Builder. The underlying bug has been patched, but if you are still encountering the error, your browser may be loading cached files from an older version of the platform.
✅ Steps to Resolve the Error
- Use the New Report Builder. Navigate to Reports in the left sidebar. The updated Report Builder is the default view and does not have this bug. If you are in Classic View, switch back to the New Report Builder before editing titles.
- Clear your browser cache. If the patch is deployed but your browser is still loading older files, clearing the cache and hard-refreshing the page will load the latest version of Report Builder.
- Edit the widget title. Click on the widget you want to rename, locate the title field containing the business name in brackets, and enter your updated label.
- Save the report. Click Save and confirm that the title updates without triggering a validation error.
If the error persists after clearing your cache, go to Reports in the left sidebar, open the report (Executive Summary), and click Refresh Summary to force a data sync, then attempt to edit the widget title again.
🔄 Workarounds for Integration Label Limitations
Certain integrations — including OTTO and Facebook — do not yet support fully editable widget labels in Report Builder. This means the business name shown in brackets may be locked and cannot be manually changed for those specific integration types.
Editable labels for OTTO integration are actively in development. Until that feature ships, use these workarounds to keep your reports organized:
- Use Section Titles. In the New Report Builder, add a custom section title above each widget to clearly identify the business profile it represents.
- Create separate reports per profile. Build one report per GBP location instead of combining multiple profiles in a single report.
- Rename the report itself. Use a descriptive report name that includes the business identifier — for example, Monthly SEO Report — Downtown Dental.

The New Report Builder makes it easy to customize section and widget titles. Follow these steps:
- Open your report from the Reports list.
- Click directly on the section or widget title text you want to change.
- Type your new title, including any business name in brackets for easy identification.
- Click outside the text field or press Enter to save your changes automatically.
Section titles can be added, edited, or removed at any time without affecting the underlying widget data.
⚠️ Classic View Known Issues
If you access a report through View (Classic) from the Reports list, be aware of the following limitations:
- Editing widget titles may trigger a false date range validation error.
- Section title widgets may not display correctly in custom layouts.
- Some titles visible in individual sections may not appear on the full report page.
For the best experience, use the New Report Builder for all title editing and report customization tasks.
