Content Genius lets you push content to your connected WordPress site in multiple ways, including publishing immediately, saving as a draft, or scheduling for a future date and time. This article explains what is possible so you can choose the right publishing flow for your workflow.
✅ Before You Begin
Make sure the following is in place before attempting to publish or schedule content:
- Your WordPress site is connected to Search Atlas. If it is not connected yet, complete the WordPress integration setup first.
- Your content is ready to publish inside the Content Genius editor.
- You have the appropriate permissions on your WordPress site to publish or schedule posts.
📤 How to Publish, Draft, or Schedule Content
Once your content is ready in the Content Genius editor, look for the publishing controls available in the editor interface. Depending on your setup, you should be able to select a publishing action — such as publishing immediately, saving as a draft, or scheduling the content for a future date — before pushing it to your connected WordPress site.
If you intend to schedule content for a future date, select the scheduling option, specify your desired publish date and time, and confirm the action to send the content to WordPress with the scheduled date applied.
Once the content is pushed, the post will appear in your WordPress dashboard reflecting the status you selected (Published, Draft, or Scheduled). WordPress will handle publishing at the designated time for scheduled posts.
💡 Tips for Scheduling Content
- The scheduled time uses the timezone configured in your WordPress site settings. Double-check your WordPress timezone under Settings → General in your WordPress admin panel to avoid unexpected publish times.
- You can reschedule or change a post to Draft at any time by editing it directly in your WordPress dashboard after it has been pushed from Content Genius.
- Scheduling is ideal when you want to plan a content calendar without having to return to the platform at the exact moment of publishing.
🔄 Checking the Status of a Scheduled Post
After scheduling, you can verify the post status in your WordPress Dashboard by navigating to Posts → All Posts and filtering by Scheduled to confirm the post is queued correctly.
⚠️ If You Cannot Find the Publishing Options
If you are not seeing the expected publishing controls in Content Genius, try the following steps:
- Confirm that your WordPress site is fully connected and authenticated in Search Atlas — a broken or expired connection can prevent publishing options from appearing.
- Refresh the Content Genius editor and check whether the controls become available.
- Make sure you are working in an article that is associated with your connected WordPress site.
