📋 Check your citation order status

Use these steps whenever you want to check the progress of a local citation order placed through Search Atlas.

  1. Confirm the order details. Have your project name, order date, citation package, and any target deadline ready before checking.
  2. Open the relevant project. Navigate to the local citations or GBP section of the platform and locate the project associated with your citation order.
  3. Review available order information. Check the project and service records for the current order status, submitted items, completed citations, pending work, or any requests for additional information from your side.
  4. Check account activity. If the order status is not immediately visible in the project view, look in your account's billing or activity section for entries related to the citation order or service.
  5. Note the latest update. Record the status, the date of the most recent update, what has been completed, and any stated reason for a delay.
  6. Set accurate expectations. Citation delivery can vary by directory, review requirements, data accuracy, and publishing delays. An order may complete in stages rather than all at once. The latest platform update is the source of truth — the absence of a visible change on a directory does not mean work has stopped.

🔎 Common order statuses explained

  • Pending: The order has been placed but work has not yet started, or no progress update has been recorded yet.
  • In progress: Citation work is actively being completed or reviewed.
  • Completed: The order work has finished. Some directories may still take additional time to publish or display the changes.
  • Action required: Information or approval is needed from you before work can continue — check for any messages or prompts in the platform.

⏱️ What to do if your order appears delayed

  1. Confirm the original order date and which citation package was purchased.
  2. Check whether the order shows a recent progress update in the platform.
  3. Look for any action-required message or a prompt requesting missing business information.
  4. Compare the current status with any estimated timeline shown in your account.
  5. If the order has no recent update, appears stuck, or has exceeded the stated timeline, contact the support team with the details below so the issue can be escalated for review.
