While the Search Atlas dashboard is where strategy lives, most SEO work happens directly in the browser: analyzing SERPs, auditing pages, and exploring competitor sites.

The Search Atlas Chrome Extension brings fast, accurate, actionable SEO data directly into Google Chrome, turning everyday browsing into a real-time SEO workflow.

🧭 Landing on a Page: Immediate Context

As soon as you land on a webpage with the extension enabled, a small status indicator appears under the Search Atlas icon showing the page's crawlability: green means the page is indexable and followable, red means the page is marked no-index, and a split indicator means no-index but follow. This lets you instantly detect issues, such as production pages accidentally left on no-index, before you even open the extension.

⚡ Mini Toolbar

If enabled, a mini toolbar appears at the top of the page, giving you immediate access to URL Rating and Domain Rating, backlinks and referring domains, organic traffic, and Domain Power, along with quick access to settings. You can disable the toolbar entirely or add specific sites to an exclusion list.

📊 Opening the Extension: Page Summary

Clicking the Search Atlas icon opens the on-page summary, a fast technical health check. It shows your heading structure (including missing or duplicated H1s), title tag and meta description with character count guidance, canonical tag configuration, robots meta directives, word count, and detected page language. From here you can also download the page's robots.txt and sitemap in one click.

🧩 Deep Analysis via Tabs

For deeper inspection, the extension offers specialized tabs: a Headings tab showing the complete H1 through H6 hierarchy, a Link Status tab with a full link-level audit (internal and external links, anchor text, follow status, and placement, exportable as a CSV), an Image Audit tab surfacing missing alt text and titles, a Schema Markup tab presenting schema in a clean, toggle-based layout, and a Social Metrics tab previewing Open Graph and X (Twitter) cards.

🔁 Transition to the Dashboard

When you are ready to go deeper, click Go to Dashboard. The current URL or domain is sent to Site Explorer, a full report runs automatically, and you gain access to historical traffic trends, keyword rankings, backlink profiles, and the economic value of organic traffic.

🔍 SERP-Level Analysis

The extension also works directly inside Google Search results, showing keyword difficulty, average monthly search volume, cost per click, and authority metrics for every ranking domain.

⚙️ Extension vs Dashboard

Use the Chrome Extension when you want to quickly audit a live page, analyze competitors while browsing, validate indexability and on-page structure, or evaluate SERPs without leaving Google. Use the Search Atlas dashboard when you need to run full site audits, analyze historical trends, manage projects and campaigns, or deploy fixes at scale. The extension and the dashboard are designed to work together.

If the Search Atlas dashboard is your strategic command center, the Chrome Extension is your real-time execution layer out in the field.
