🔍 Overview

If you created two OTTO Site Explorer projects for the same website — for example, one targeting the US and one targeting the UK — and you no longer need one of them, you can delete the duplicate from the Site Explorer area. This article explains what to expect when removing a duplicate OTTO Site Explorer project by region.

Important: OTTO Site Explorer projects are managed under Site Metrics (Site Explorer) in the left sidebar. This is a separate area from Website Studio (also called Web Studio). If you are trying to delete a Website Studio project, please refer to the relevant article for that product.

📋 Before You Delete

Keep the following in mind before removing a project:

  • Deleting a project is permanent. All historical data, tracked metrics, and configurations associated with that project will be removed and cannot be recovered.
  • Make sure you are deleting the correct regional version. Double-check the target country or region assigned to the project before proceeding.
  • Only delete the project you no longer need — in this example, the US version — and confirm the project you want to keep (the UK version) is still active and correctly configured.

🧭 How to Find Your OTTO Site Explorer Projects

  1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Site Metrics (Site Explorer).
  3. You will land on the project list page, which displays all your OTTO Site Explorer projects.
  4. Locate the two projects for the same website. You can identify the regional difference by the country or region label shown on each project card.

🗑️ How to Delete the Duplicate Project

  1. On the Site Explorer project list page, find the OTTO Site Explorer project you want to remove (for example, the US version).
  2. Look for the delete or remove option available on the project entry.
  3. Select the option to delete the project and follow any on-screen prompts to confirm your choice.
  4. Once completed, the deleted project will no longer appear in your project list.

Your remaining project — in this example, the UK version — will be unaffected and will continue to retain all its data and settings.

Note: If you are unsure how to locate the delete option for your OTTO Site Explorer project, or if the option does not appear as expected, please reach out to the support team for guidance specific to your account.

✅ Confirming the Right Project Remains

After deletion, take a moment to verify everything looks correct:

  • Return to Site Metrics (Site Explorer) in the left sidebar.
  • Confirm only one project for your website is listed.
  • Click into the remaining project and check that the target region (for example, United Kingdom) is correctly set.
  • Review any active tracking — such as rank tracking or keyword data — to confirm it is intact.
