If no business appears in a tool's selector dropdown within Search Atlas, it means a business has not yet been created inside that specific tool. Each Search Atlas module maintains its own independent business list — businesses must be added per tool before they appear for selection.
📋 Why This Happens
This is expected behavior, not a bug. Search Atlas tools — including GBP Manager (Local → GBP Projects), Local SEO Heatmaps, PPC, and Brand Vault — each manage their own list of businesses or locations independently. A business configured in one tool does not automatically carry over to another. Every tool requires its own setup before the selector will populate.
✅ How to Add a Business to a Tool
Follow these steps to make a business appear in the selector:
- Open the tool where the selector is empty — for example, Local SEO Heatmaps, PPC, or Brand Vault.
- Look for the Connect GBP Account button (Local → GBP Projects). This is typically displayed in the tool's main view or within its settings area.
- Complete all required fields for your business or location and save the entry.
- Return to the selector dropdown — your newly added business will now be available for selection.
⚠️ Common Scenarios
- Using multiple tools: A business added in one tool (for example, GBP Manager at Local → GBP Projects (GBP Projects)) does not appear in other tools (for example, Local SEO Heatmaps or PPC). You must add the business separately in each tool you want to use it with.
- Recently added to a workspace: If you were just invited to a workspace, you may not see businesses created by other team members. This depends on your permission level — contact your workspace admin to verify your access rights.
- Incomplete business setup: If you began creating a business but did not complete all required fields, it may not appear in the selector. Return to the tool's business or location settings and confirm the entry is fully saved.
- Brand Vault — business has no products configured: Brand Vault intentionally excludes businesses that have no products added to them. If a business does not appear in the Brand Vault selector, verify that at least one product has been configured for that business first.
- PPC tool — business not visible in a long list: The PPC Business Selection Dropdown includes a search input to help you locate a specific business quickly when managing many accounts. If the business is not immediately visible in the dropdown, try typing its name into the search field.
