🚀 Refresh Stale Core Web Vitals Data

🔍 Why your score may look outdated

A site recrawl and a Core Web Vitals update are separate processes. A recrawl checks your pages again, while Core Web Vitals may use Google Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) field data. CrUX data reflects real-user experiences and may not change immediately after your site updates.

Your dashboard can therefore show the same score even when the latest crawl completed successfully. A page may also have no available CrUX field data, especially for low-traffic pages or newly published URLs.

🔄 Refresh your Search Atlas data

  1. Open Home from the left sidebar.
  2. Select Refresh data.
  3. Return to the relevant project and review the Core Web Vitals panel.
  4. Check the panel’s Last checked date to confirm when the data was evaluated.

If the score still has not changed, allow time for new field data to become available. Refreshing the dashboard cannot create new Google CrUX data.

📊 Check the latest site metrics

  1. Open Site Metrics from the left sidebar.
  2. Use Analyze to review the project and its current metrics.
  3. Open History to compare previous results and identify whether the score changed.
  4. Use Filters or Columns to focus on the affected URLs and metrics.

🛠️ What to verify on your website

  • Confirm the updated pages are publicly accessible and not blocked by robots.txt, authentication, or a firewall.
  • Check that the pages return a successful status and load correctly for mobile users.
  • Review changes affecting loading speed, responsiveness, images, JavaScript, caching, and third-party scripts.
  • Remember that Core Web Vitals are evaluated separately for mobile and desktop experiences.

⚠️ When no score is available

If Google has no CrUX field data for a page or origin, Search Atlas may show an empty state instead of a score. This does not necessarily indicate a technical failure. Continue improving the page and check again after more eligible user data is collected.

💬 Get help with stale data

If the Last checked date does not update after using Refresh data, or the site is crawlable but metrics remain unexpectedly stale, record the affected project, URL, and approximate recrawl time.
