Overview
Some users find that after manually updating their domain-level schema in OTTO — particularly the business address — the schema reverts to an older, incorrect address after a few days. This incorrect address can even appear in the live website source code, which affects your local SEO signals.
This article explains what to do if you experience this.
Why This Happens
This is a known platform issue where OTTO may reapply an outdated address to your domain-level schema. Because the root cause exists at the account level rather than in a setting you can directly edit, resolving it requires assistance from the support or engineering team.
What You Should Do Now
- Confirm the correct address. Before reaching out, make a note of the exact address, city, province/state, and postal/ZIP code you want to appear in your schema. Having this ready speeds up the resolution significantly.
- Check your domain-level schema settings in OTTO. Navigate to your domain schema configuration and verify whether the address shown there matches your intended address. If it appears correct in the settings but still reverts in the deployed schema or site source code, this confirms the issue is occurring at the account level and requires escalation.
- Attempt a manual re-save. In some cases, opening the domain schema record, re-entering the correct address fields, and explicitly saving the record again can temporarily stabilise the output. Check the site source code after 24 hours to see whether the correct address is now present.
- Contact support if the issue persists. If the schema continues to revert after a manual re-save, reach out to the support team and provide your correct address details along with the information listed below. The team will review the address stored against your account, confirm the correct entry with you, and work with engineering as needed to ensure the right address is applied going forward.
Information to Have Ready
When you contact support, please have the following ready so the team can act quickly:
- Your correct business address in full (street, city, province/state, postal/ZIP code, country)
- The incorrect address currently appearing in your schema or site source code
- The domain the schema is deployed on
- Roughly when you first noticed the reversion
- Whether a manual re-save was attempted and what the result was
What Happens After You Report It
The support team will review the address stored against your account, confirm the correct entry with you, and work with engineering as needed to ensure the right address is applied. Once resolved, OTTO will use the correct address in your domain-level schema. If you need help at any point, please reach out to our support team and we will be happy to assist.
