π What causes this issue?
Heat maps may show updated data in the backend while the frontend displays an older result. The frontend retrieves heat map data through background requests and refresh hooks. A delayed refresh, mismatched scan settings, or temporary request overload can prevent the latest data from appearing.
β Check the heat map status
- Open the relevant heat map or local SEO report.
- Confirm that the backend status shows the scan or data update as complete.
- Check the scan date, location, device, and selected scan type.
- Compare these settings with the filters currently selected in the frontend.
Different scan types or filters can make the frontend appear outdated even when newer data is available.
π Refresh the frontend data
- Wait a few minutes after the backend update finishes. Large scans may take additional time to appear.
- Refresh the heat map page.
- Reopen the report or grid view and select the correct project, scan, location, and date.
- If available, switch to another view and then return to the heat map to trigger a new data request.
Avoid repeatedly refreshing or opening many heat maps at once. Multiple simultaneous requests can delay processing or cause temporary gateway errors.
π§Ή Verify browser and report settings
- Confirm you are viewing the correct project and report.
- Check that no saved filter is hiding the latest scan.
- Sign out and back in if the page continues showing an old result.
- Try the page again after a short interval if you see a loading error or gateway timeout.
β οΈ When the issue needs investigation
If the backend remains updated but the frontend still shows older data after refreshing and waiting, the issue may involve a synchronization failure between the report view and the data service. This can occur when frontend requests use different scan parameters or when temporary request volume delays the response.
When reporting the issue, note the project, heat map or report name, scan date, location, device, selected filters, and the time of the last backend update. Screenshots of the backend status and frontend result can also help the team compare the two views.
