Overview
When a Search Atlas account is deactivated or a customer churns, any active Google Business Profile (GBP) automation — such as scheduled posts or sync settings — may continue running unless it is manually stopped on the backend. This is a backend action that requires intervention from our support team.
Why This Matters
If GBP automation is left active after an account is deactivated, the following issues can occur:
- Scheduled posts continue publishing to Google Business Profile without approval
- Location data may continue to be overwritten with stale or unwanted information
- Sync processes may push updates to Google even though the account is no longer active
- The account may trigger unnecessary error notifications or consume post quota
What to Expect
Disabling GBP automation on a deactivated account is a backend operation — there is no self-serve workflow available to customers for this action. Our support team will need to handle the disabling of any active automation, scheduled posts, or sync connections tied to your account on your behalf.
How to Escalate
To help our team resolve this as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready when you reach out:
- The name of the deactivated Search Atlas account or workspace
- The Google Business Profile location name(s) affected
- A description of the automation activity still occurring (e.g. posts still publishing, data being overwritten)
- Any relevant timestamps or examples of posts or updates that should not have gone live
- Any error messages or notifications you have received
