📍 Where to Manage Citation Hours
Local citation details, including business hours, are managed inside your Google Business Profile (GBP) project in Search Atlas. Before you begin, make sure the location with the incorrect hours is connected to the platform.
- In the left sidebar, click Local, then select GBP Projects.
- If your Google Business Profile is not connected yet, click Connect GBP Account and follow the sign-in steps.
- Select the location you need to fix, for example Jake's Auto.
- Open the Local Citations section for that location.
✏️ Updating Business Hours on a Citation
Each citation displays the business details submitted to that directory. To correct the hours:
- In the Local Citations section, find the listing showing the wrong hours.
- Click Edit on that citation.
- Set the correct opening and closing time for each day of the week.
- Mark any day the business is closed.
- Double-check the times, especially AM and PM, then save your changes.
Your edits are saved as pending tasks. They are not sent to the directories until you deploy them.
🚀 Deploying Your Hour Changes
To push your corrected hours live across citation directories:
- In the left sidebar, click Local, then select My Tasks.
- Review the pending changes and confirm the hours look right.
- Click Deploy all changes.
Directories typically take a few days to display updated hours. Recheck the listings after about a week.
💡 Tips for Keeping Hours Accurate
- Fix hours at the source first. If your citations pull details from Google Business Profile, update the hours on the GBP listing so new citations stay consistent.
- Keep hours identical everywhere. Mismatched hours between Google and citation directories can hurt local rankings.
- Plan for holidays. Update special holiday hours ahead of time and reset them afterward.
- Watch AM and PM. Most citation forms use a 12-hour clock, so confirm you did not swap morning and evening times.
🔧 Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Hours will not save: A previous bug that prevented hour ranges from saving correctly has been fixed. Refresh the page and enter the times again.
- The Active Citations section is blank: Refresh the page and confirm your GBP account is still connected under GBP Projects.
- Old hours still showing: Confirm you clicked Deploy all changes in My Tasks, then allow a few days for directories to update.
- Citation will not open for editing: A previous editing error has been resolved. If it happens again, refresh the page and retry.
- Data looks outdated after reconnecting a Google account: Refresh the page so the latest profile data loads.
