This article covers two common issues in the SEO Content Assistant: removing keywords that have been injected into your page by the tool, and troubleshooting a content score that isn't moving despite significant content work. Both issues have distinct causes and fixes — work through each section that applies to you.
How to Remove Injected Keywords
The SEO Content Assistant may inject suggested keywords into your content as part of its optimization recommendations. These can be removed manually from the editor at any time.
- Open the SEO Content Assistant and locate the page you are working on.
- Open the editor for that page.
- Identify the injected keyword text you want to remove within the editor canvas.
- Click on the relevant text to select it, then delete it using your keyboard.
- Save your changes once you have finished editing.
If the keyword reappears after saving, your page content may not have synced correctly. Try closing and reopening the editor, then repeat the steps above.
Why Your Content Score Isn't Moving
A stagnant content score is one of the most common — and most frustrating — issues in content optimization. If you have made significant edits and the score has not changed, work through the checks below in order.
Check 1 — Trigger a Fresh Analysis
The content score does not update automatically every time you make edits. After completing your changes, look for an option within the SEO Content Assistant to re-analyze or refresh the score for your page. The exact label may vary, but this action tells the tool to re-evaluate your content based on your latest edits.
- Open your page in the SEO Content Assistant.
- After completing your edits, locate and click the button or option that triggers a new content analysis.
- Wait for the analysis to fully complete before reading the updated score.
If you do not trigger a fresh analysis, the score displayed may still reflect your content from a previous session.
Check 2 — Close and Reopen the Editor
The editor can sometimes display a version of your page that does not reflect your most recent saves. If your score still appears frozen after triggering a fresh analysis, try the following:
- Save your current work.
- Close the page editor completely.
- Hard-refresh your browser: press Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac.
- Reopen the page in the SEO Content Assistant and trigger a new analysis.
Check 3 — Verify Your Content Has Saved Correctly
If you are still not seeing score movement after the steps above, it is worth confirming that your edits were actually saved before the analysis ran. Open the editor again, review the content on screen, and confirm it reflects all the changes you intended to make.
