You can now create and manage your own teams inside the SearchAtlas AI Gateway, giving you full visibility into how your team consumes AI resources across tools like Claude Code and Codex — without needing to contact anyone to get set up.
✨ What's New
The AI Gateway now includes self-serve team management with usage analytics scoped to exactly the people you oversee. Here's what you can do:
- Create your own teams in about a minute — Name a team, add members by searching for them by name or email, and it's live immediately. You can own up to 20 teams.
- Add co-managers — Share day-to-day team management with a colleague while you retain ownership. Co-managers can add or remove people and rename the team; only the owner can change the manager list or delete the team.
- Nest teams inside teams — Department heads can roll up multiple sub-teams into a single parent team. Usage from every nested level is included in the parent's totals, giving leadership one consolidated view as deep as your org structure goes.
- Track token spend and usage per person — Your team's usage dashboard includes KPI tiles, a breakdown by AI provider and model, and a leaderboard showing who is consuming the most. Click any person to scope the entire view to just them.
- Include shared service bots — Shared automation keys can be added as team members, so any spend from automated workflows appears alongside your people's usage.
- See which teams include you — A dedicated section on your Teams page lists every team that counts your usage and who manages it, so your data is never included somewhere without your knowledge.
🛠️ How to Use It
- Go to the AI Gateway and navigate to the Teams section.
- Click Create team, give it a name, and search for members by name or email to add them.
- Optionally, add a co-manager to help run the team alongside you.
- To build a department view, open your team, go to Sub-teams, and add the teams that should roll up into it.
- Navigate to your team's usage page to view token consumption, spend, provider and model breakdowns, and the per-person leaderboard.
📋 What to Expect
- Your own usage is not included in your team's totals unless you explicitly add yourself as a member — this prevents a manager overseeing multiple teams from inflating all of them.
- Members are matched by the email address they log in with. Always use the search-and-select flow rather than typing an address manually to ensure accuracy.
- Adding someone to a team does not send them a notification, but it is not hidden — they will see the team and your name listed on their own Teams page.
- Visibility comes from managing, not from being listed. Being a member of a team does not give you access to that team's usage data — only managers (and the owner) can see it.
- If you already have an org-managed team, you can now rename it, adjust its managers, and edit its members yourself. Note that changing the member list of an org team converts it to a standard team and removes it from the org chart rollup — the platform will warn you before this happens. Renaming or changing managers is always safe.
- No prompt or message content is ever captured. All usage figures are derived from request metadata only.
If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.
