⚡ Share OTTO Plugin Credentials Without Outlook

Overview

When you add the OTTO pixel plugin to your website, Search Atlas provides an Email my developer button to quickly share installation credentials. However, this button opens Microsoft Outlook by default. If your team uses Gmail, Slack, or any other communication tool, the button may not work as expected.

This article shows you how to manually retrieve your UUID and API Key, and share them with your developer through any channel you choose.

Where to Find Your OTTO Plugin Credentials

  1. Log in to Search Atlas and navigate to the OTTO section of your dashboard.

  2. Locate your OTTO workspace and find the area where your plugin credentials are displayed.

  3. You will see two key credentials:

    • UUID — your unique site identifier
    • API Key — the authentication key required by the plugin

  4. Copy each value by highlighting the text and pressing Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac).

Why the 'Email My Developer' Button May Not Work

The Email my developer button uses a mailto: link, which automatically opens your operating system's default email client. If Outlook is not installed or configured on your device, the button may not function as expected. This is a browser and OS limitation — not a Search Atlas error. The solution is to share the credentials manually, as described below.

How to Manually Share Credentials With Your Developer

Once you have copied your UUID and API Key, you can share them through any method your team uses. Follow these steps to put together everything your developer needs:

  1. Copy your UUID from your OTTO dashboard credentials area.

  2. Copy your API Key from the same area.

  3. Open your preferred communication tool — for example, Gmail, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or a project management app.

  4. Compose a message or task for your developer and include the following information:

    • UUID: [paste your UUID here]
    • API Key: [paste your API Key here]
    • Plugin name: OTTO SEO (available in the WordPress plugin directory)

  5. Ask your developer to install the OTTO SEO plugin on your WordPress site and enter the UUID and API Key when prompted during setup.
