PDF exports from Report Builder have been completely redesigned — both the classic and updated report layouts now produce structured, professional-looking documents instead of web pages converted to PDF.
✨ What's New
Exporting a report to PDF used to produce output that felt like a screenshot of the platform: content flowed top to bottom with no real page structure, sections and cards could be cut off mid-page, and application chrome like sidebars and headers sometimes appeared in the file. That's all changed.
- Redesigned layout for the updated report builder: Sections and cards are now properly bounded within the document, cards no longer get sliced across page breaks, and each export includes a real report cover and footer — the kind of document you'd confidently hand to a client.
- Restructured layout for the classic report builder: The same document-first structure has been applied to classic reports, while keeping the visual identity classic users already recognize. The overall style has also been refined to feel more like a printed report than a rendered web page.
- Platform chrome no longer appears in exports: Sidebars and navigation headers no longer leak into either export, so the PDF contains only report content.
- Exports are now faster and more stable: Previously, generating a PDF on a long report could freeze your browser tab. That issue is resolved, along with a separate delay that could make the export feel unresponsive. Exports now build directly from what you see on screen, so the PDF accurately reflects the report as displayed — and it's ready much faster.
🛠️ How to Use It
- Open any report in Report Builder.
- Select the PDF export option as you normally would.
- Download and review your export — no settings changes are needed to receive the updated layout.
📋 What to Expect
Both classic and updated reports will automatically use the new export format — there is nothing to configure or enable. The visual identity of classic reports is preserved; only the document structure and page layout have been improved. The content in your PDF will match exactly what is displayed on screen in the report builder.
