🔍 Overview
Some customers encounter an error when trying to cancel their subscription that reads something like "no cancellable products found." This is typically caused by a billing system conflict — for example, a failed payment on a secondary charge (such as a top-up or add-on) that interferes with your main subscription status. This article explains why it happens and what to do.
⚠️ Why This Happens
Search Atlas uses a billing system that manages multiple types of charges: your core subscription, add-ons, and top-up credits. In certain edge cases, the following issues can cause cancellation to fail:
- A failed payment on a top-up or add-on invoice places your account in an inconsistent state, making the system unable to identify a cancellable product.
- Stale or unresolved invoices — sometimes an old unpaid invoice lingers in the system and triggers false billing alerts or blocks account actions.
- Billing provider mismatches — if your subscription was processed through a third-party provider (such as Shopify), the cancellation path may differ from standard subscriptions and require manual handling.
- Incorrect dunning or cancellation emails — you may have received a cancellation or payment failure notice even though your main subscription is healthy. This is a known billing edge case that our team has resolved at the system level.
✅ What to Do If Cancellation Fails
- Do not attempt to cancel multiple times. Repeated attempts will not resolve the underlying billing conflict and may complicate the process further.
- Check your email for any recent invoices or payment failure notices from Search Atlas. Note the invoice number or date if one is visible — this helps our team locate the issue faster.
- Contact our support team (see below). Our team has the tools to manually resolve billing conflicts, clear stale invoices, and process your cancellation correctly.

Scenario 2 — Received a cancellation or payment failure email unexpectedly: This is a known billing edge case. Your main subscription may still be active and healthy. Contact our support team so we can verify your account status and correct any erroneous records.
