Overview
This article addresses common questions about export options in Site Explorer and how to get API access.
Site Explorer Export Formats
Site Explorer supports CSV and XLS export for most of its core reports, including backlink data, organic keywords, and traffic overviews. To export a report:
- Navigate to Site Explorer inside your Search Atlas account.
- Open the specific report you want to export (for example, Backlinks or Organic Keywords).
- Look for an export or download option within the report view.
- Click it to download the data as a CSV or XLS file to your device.
If you do not see an export option in a particular report, CSV or XLS export may not be available for that specific view, or your current plan may not include export access for that report. In that case, upgrading your plan may unlock additional export options.
API Access by Plan Tier
API access is available on every plan, including Starter — no upgrade is needed. To get your API key:
- Go to Settings → API Keys.
- Click Generate new key.
You can also regenerate or revoke existing keys from the same API Keys tab.
Getting Accurate Plan and Feature Details
Because plan features and export capabilities can be updated as Search Atlas evolves, the most reliable way to confirm what is currently available to you is to:
- Review your current plan details inside the platform under the top-right avatar → Billing (Plans & Top-ups).
- Check in-platform announcements or the product changelog for the latest feature updates.
